00:00And we talked about the death toll earlier, 65,000 people.
00:05The UN Commission has declared a genocide
00:08and it becomes a very difficult situation for these people, Gemma,
00:13especially trying to flee Gaza City right now.
00:17And where are they going to go to?
00:19And is there any way that they can possibly ever return to their homes?
00:24Well, as you said, there's one route out.
00:26Interestingly, they're being pushed towards this so-called humanitarian zone further south.
00:35Now, today, the Israeli army said they're going to open another temporary route out of the city
00:43that's only going to be open for 48 hours.
00:45That's another corridor because the existing route has become completely congested.
00:50You know, you're seeing long delays.
00:52You're just seeing families by the side of the road.
00:54They don't really know where to go.
00:56So this sort of notion that there's another route being open for 48 hours,
01:00I mean, I don't know how much good that does,
01:04particularly for people who don't have anywhere to go.
01:08So over the sort of past year, there's been four countries that have been,
01:14five actually, if you include Jordan as well, that have been touted.
01:18Their names seemingly picked out of nowhere because when these countries are asked,
01:22oh, so you've said you're going to take in refugees, they're kind of confused.
01:28You know, there's been no talks about it.
01:30So Egypt, the Egyptian foreign minister, has said that Egypt will not take in any refugees
01:36on the grounds that to do so would be an end to the Palestinian state.
01:40They've been very firm on that.
01:42Now, other countries whose names have been touted, South Sudan, Indonesia and Somaliland.
01:48Now, South Sudan have rejected reports as baseless that they were ever going to take in all these refugees.
01:55Indonesia had said they would take in 2,000 Palestinians who need help or urgent medical care,
02:00but that they would then be sent back.
02:03And Somaliland said there's been no such talks whatsoever.
02:07Jordan obviously rejected the plans immediately.
02:11So as to where they will go, there is still no answer.
