00:29:07elegance and grace it sort of comes from like this really authentic place danny i'm really
00:29:12proud of you for the way you approach these dances with true authenticity when i watch this
00:29:17partnership the chemistry and the and this trust is really what makes the magic you're so determined
00:29:22to do what whitney's asked you to do and you do it with beautifully you do it with beautiful
00:29:26integrity and so much emotion derrick i'm just so impressed with you the frame has definitely
00:29:34improved the choreography was beautiful the intention was there for me um the one thing i
00:29:39felt when i saw that was the every all the movements were fantastic your partnership is so strong so
00:29:44solid it's just sometimes the emotion right i lose a little bit of the performance aspect because
00:29:52no no no because it's finding the balance between focus and performance because precision is what
00:29:57guides the steps but the performance is what steals the show so i think for me when i lost a little bit
00:30:01of that was a little bit of that rawness but my man that was such a fantastic dance regardless
00:30:10your determination your connection to your partner the way you look at her really it melts my heart
00:30:16i have to be honest i can see how much you work and nothing is impossible when you go for it and you put
00:30:23your heart into it and it shows because you have improved at every level there's a couple little things
00:30:29your bun keeps sticking out but you know i'm not complaining because you're doing it

00:40:33i want to do better on that tango all right we got the tango coming up well that was their latin
00:40:38routine and they've also got a ballroom style coming up which means another round of judges

00:41:14welcome back to the semifinals now that all of the scores from this first round are in let's take
00:41:19a look at the leaderboard currently at the top are jenna and joey with a perfect 30 and currently at the
00:41:27bottom are steven and riley with 25. we'll start the second round with the couple who kicked off the
00:41:32night and earned 29 from the judges for their salsa training for their ballroom dance here are chandler
00:41:38and brandon so our second dance of the night it's going to be a ballroom dance it's going to be a
00:41:45foxtrot yes and this is obviously the final dance that the judges will score before the finale it would
00:41:51be incredible to make it to the finale i've gotten to reignite my love of dancing from childhood and
00:41:58that meant the world to me because it's helped me find a happiness that i haven't felt in a long time
00:42:03i am a very anxious person i am always either dwelling about something that happened in the past or
00:42:11worried about what will happen in the future when i'm dancing i just get to be present in the moment and
00:42:16that's an awesome feeling this experience is something that you're going to cherish forever
00:42:21yeah our goal right now is winning that mirror ball there's a lot of obstacles in the way of getting
00:42:26there right a lot of work that has to be done but i don't think we're afraid of that i think it's
00:42:30within our reach i think we got to go out and grab it 100 let's do it oh yeah left elbow up
00:42:37for the foxtrot we need to show the best frame that we've shown all season oh my bad but it's also
00:42:43about what's happening underneath and so this week we're going to have to really focus on the leg
00:42:46action wait wait hold that frame around i've only done two other standard ballroom styles and the
00:42:53foxtrot is its own beast you change tempo slow slow then fast you're in and out of frame oh i did
00:43:02that wrong and there are a million steps this starts on five which is a lot to ask physically wait wait
00:43:10that's ugly but also mentally i forgot the heart anything outside of a perfect score is less than
00:43:17what i've done before so that is a tall order into the corkscrew yeah yeah yeah dance was my first love
00:43:24as a kid yeah yeah yeah now that i've reignited that passion i don't want to stop one last turn

00:50:07for our second dance we are going to be doing a latin dance it is a pasadoble i'm excited for the
00:50:14paso and i remember talking to you like are we going to do one and you just said if there's the
00:50:18right time you will definitely do a proper pasadoble and the time is now the time is now our best
00:50:23performances have been when you are playing a character did you know you had this theatrical
00:50:30side to you i was very theatrical as a kid dramatic yeah i was dramatic you could ask my sisters they would
00:50:36maybe push me and i'd make it bigger i liked adding a lot of extra to stuff coming into this i felt
00:50:42confident i was athletic enough to be able to be light on my feet but the performance side i didn't
00:50:47know i was capable of it i know how important this dance is and i just want to put everything out to
00:50:52it let's do it four go five uh six why am i it's the step because it's not such a stomp i know with
00:50:59the pasadoble he is going to have to be a matador he's teasing a bull step on it keep it i'm rushing it
00:51:07when he gets a character in his mind just a little more cockiness should be the idea yeah
00:51:12he has blow away performances where people are like omg sorry but i messed up there i need him
00:51:18to bring that this week if i keep that hook and i go low here and then throw you then we're perfect
00:51:26pressure's on not a lot of time to smash these dances i felt so cool for five seconds there
00:51:31competition is very tough i know how close it is because the scoreboard has changed quite a bit

00:57:51romantic and sensual dance complete 180 of the pasta doble i've actually really enjoyed the graceful
00:57:57dances i've never described myself as a graceful person but for some reason i like how it moves and
00:58:02the textures in the dance so i'm excited to try this one what i really want to portray in this dance is
00:58:07really invoke feeling this could be a cool dance to do it almost as like a ode to what we've built
00:58:12these past weeks for this vini's vaults i want it dedicated to alan and the relationship and friendship
00:58:17we've been able to build all these weeks we truly created something special and honestly i think i've
00:58:22found a friend for life who knows if it will be the last time we dance together say that hopefully it's
00:58:27not but if we can do it for each other out there like it's just us you and i celebrating what we've
00:58:31built and i think people will really love kind of taking that peek inside of it i love that the more
00:58:37you let your body flow the better it is the vini's waltz is a beautiful sensual dance slower you have to
00:58:45be extremely fluid in it show that control in the slowness so got our work cut out for us yeah wrong
00:58:52steps the hardest thing about the vini's waltz is there's no stop start every movement needs to flow
00:58:58together and it's just not natural to me it's not something i'm used to then you just go for it what
00:59:03i'm a tough rugby player who loves to lift weights and run through people so making it to the finale
00:59:08would only reinforce the message that you can be elegant and graceful and to not hold yourself
00:59:14back from trying things that you want to because of how you look or how people perceive you you're
00:59:18trusting me there it's my job tonight to prove that i belong in the finale and i want to give
