00:00I think all the important things in life, you just have to go through.
00:04Somebody can lecture you, you can read a million books, you can try to learn,
00:09try to prepare, try to research, until you go through things like grief, love, childbirth.
00:19You know, the big things that are unseen, that are felt the most, have to be felt.
00:25They are felt experiences.
00:30I don't want to be any age again.
00:35I am so happy where I am right now and what I've gone through, I have zero regrets.
00:41I think you learn from every single situation in your life, the good, the bad, the ugly.
00:45And everyone is on an individual path and I really do believe that what is meant for you
00:50will not pass you by the good, the bad and the ugly.
00:53And you can look at it as an opportunity to grow or you can become a victim and blame other people
00:57and look outside yourself.
00:58But I think to be able to look inward and, well, part of the story, part of this story
01:06is about society being, you know, structured in a way that we are kind of brainwashed to
01:12have to look beyond ourselves for what's real when actually it is in all of us.
01:18And not until we each go into ourselves can we even contribute to society in a real way because we all are such individuals.
01:26And until you honor that and recognize it, accept those parts of yourself, can you actually contribute in a real way?
01:33I hope she's not entirely unlikable because I think somebody in her position needs to be somewhat charismatic and enigmatic and be able to draw people in,
01:41in a kind of mesmeric way in order to influence them and control them, but her intentions aren't all bad.
01:49She really is into helping people grow and heal and evolve and free themselves from whatever burdens them.
01:56But she has her own ideas about what that looks like.
02:00And as I said earlier, everyone's path is different.
02:06So it's not a cookie cutter kind of situation.
02:11And what I love about how the show evolves is you start to see what has influenced Evelyn
02:16and why she had to construct this very controlling environment in order to not feel her own pain.
02:24Everybody needs love and connection.
02:27The way she gets hers is through trying to save people.
02:30She doesn't have any real relationships.
02:32She gets off on that slightly distant, well, adoration and appreciation.
02:40The fact that people need her is how she feels.
02:44That's how she gets her fix and how she, you know, fills her own cup.
02:50I think society, instead of creating moments of empowerment for people,
02:56is intentionally disempowering.
03:01It's becoming more and more obvious.
03:04And it's very strange.
03:06I don't know.
03:07This has just always been something that I have known in myself and something that I've always lived by.
03:12I don't know why.
03:13I have no reason to.
03:14I grew up in a very working class family.
03:16I didn't have, like, big, amazing experiences.
03:19It's just me.
03:20It's how I came in.
03:22And it's my belief that everyone is equal and that we have the right.
03:26It's our birthright to have certain freedoms and exist as our authentic selves.
03:32And it's becoming more and more difficult for people to do that.
03:36It's so upsetting.
03:39It really is just so, um, it doesn't, and it won't serve any purpose other than, you know,
03:46for the dictators and the fascists to control society.
03:51The one hope for me out of everything that's happening at the moment is that people have nowhere else to look outside themselves anymore.
04:00We've all been taught to look outside ourselves.
04:03And now the only places left to look is in.
04:08And when people really do that, it will create an uprising.
04:13There's no way that it won't.
04:14I listen to my heart and go with my gut.
04:16That's it.
04:17Because I have to live with myself.
04:20Once or twice I've done a job for money and it has felt disgusting.
04:25So, um, I just get quiet enough to listen to myself and go with that.
04:32But I also find Mike White to be endlessly interesting.
04:36Like, films like Chuck and Buck from years ago, he was already blowing my mind.
04:40Like, he just has his own perspective.
04:43I just really appreciate people who have the guts to be themselves and do what they want.
04:47He does that.
