00:00well good morning everyone I'm Henry Rivers I'm the president of the National Brotherhood of

00:07Snow Sports National Brotherhood of Snow Sports this is our 72nd year having annual events called

00:13the summit and we're just here we're happy to be a keystone you know this is gonna be great

00:19I'll rewind back to 1996 my first year coming to a summit I had never seen more than one or

00:28two people of color on the hill while skiing and I come to Vail Resorts and there are 5,000 people

00:40of color on the mountain it was I can't tell you how hard my heart was smiling that whole week so

00:47how would I define it for someone that never came you're going to be engulfed by a bunch of people

00:55that have the same same likes as you do want to be in the outdoors want to ski want to ride want to

01:03have fun a lot of parties a lot of apres ski and we talked about how great we did on the mountain

01:09even if we didn't do so good coming to the summit this is going to be my 29th summit and coming to

01:20summit I've met people here back from 1996 raced against them parties with them skate with them

01:28and and and yeah we've had some sorrowful moments because we've lost a lot of friends as well along

01:33the way but this is uh it's a family reunion every year it's better than the summer reunions I love

01:40peace I love coming here
