Save a joey, do it safely: Kangaroo Sanctuary’s plea

Chris ‘Brolga’ Barns, founder of The Kangaroo Sanctuary, urges people to safely stop and check dead kangaroos for Joeys. Brolga’s sanctuary has inspired the family movie Kangaroo.

00:10out, check it for a joey. Could be a joey alive and if it's a female, she could have a joey alive

00:15in the pouch. So it's quite sad. A lot of joeys survive traffic accidents because mum's pouch

00:20is not just a bag, it's a bag full of mussels and she needs mussels in her pouch so when she's

00:26hopping through the bush, mussels in the pouch wrap around her baby like a big seatbelt,

00:32these mussels actually help protect baby during traffic accidents.
