00:21:52when you size up a matchup like this, both the body types, the skill,
00:21:56the styles of the competitors as technicians, what is your eye go to right away?
00:22:01I mean, technically speaking, these are two of the most well-rounded superstars
00:22:04on the roster, male or female.
00:22:06Both have incredible backgrounds in multiple martial arts.
00:22:09They both essentially grown up in the wrestling business.
00:22:12And here they are at the pinnacle, ready to collide with essentially a mirror image
00:22:16of one another.
00:22:17This is a very, very exciting matchup.
00:22:19You know, I'm glad you bring up the subject of you grow up in the business
00:22:22because you can see it with them.
00:22:24The skill, the fluidity, how everything is in sync and in motion.
00:22:29You get those 10,000 hours, those Gladwellian 10,000 hours, and it shows, doesn't it?

00:23:40If you ask Roxanne Perez, she's exactly where she's meant to be.
00:23:43Steadily rising up the ranks of WWE.
00:23:46No doubt in my mind, a lot of gold in the future of Roxanne Perez.
00:23:50And the same has to be said for Raquel Rodriguez, who's had glimpses of greatness.
00:23:54She's had some great success in the Women's Tag Team Division.
00:23:57These are two very, very dangerous women, who may become the foundation of the Women's Division as time goes on.

00:24:21Now there is the prodigy Roxanne Perez and of course she was ringside a week ago right here on
00:24:49Raw when Raquel Rodriguez defeated Lyra Valkyria.
00:24:52Lyra Valkyria fought valiantly and overcame momentarily the interference of Perez.
00:24:58But when you're dealing with the Judgment Day, you have to prepare for
00:25:01the entirety of the group.
00:25:03Valkyria would do her best to remove Rox from the equation.
00:25:06But as Lyra made the climb toward the top, the powerhouse of the Judgment Day.
00:25:10I'm sorry, Raquel Rodriguez delivered a Tejana bomb that nearly put Lyra
00:25:16through the center of the ring.
00:25:22So that was a week ago when we were in Milwaukee.
00:25:24Now here in Springfield, Mass, as she goes up against Roxanne.
00:25:29Corey, prior to what we saw there at the conclusion of that match there in Milwaukee,
00:25:34there was a consistent and steady beating to the lower back of Lyra Valkyria.
00:25:40And we've noticed from the time Lyra made her entrance, she's favoring her lower back.
00:25:44Definitely still feeling the effects of the entire beatdown throughout the duration of
00:25:47the matchup, particularly the Tejana bomb that served as the exclamation point for
00:25:52Rodriguez.
00:25:53And look at this, two world-class grapplers, collar and elbow tie up, pinning one another.
00:25:57Fantastic technical expertise on display in the early moments.
00:26:00That was the first thing you said to me when we talked about this matchup here,
00:26:04getting ready for Monday Night Raw.
00:26:05What a technical matchup this is, as you see the young forces right against the face,
00:26:12showing disrespect is Roxanne.
00:26:14But the back situation a week ago when she slowly slams her down to the mat.
00:26:19It's not just that she has to watch out defensively and worry about hurting the back,
00:26:23but the limitations it can have to your own offense.
00:26:25Absolutely.
00:26:26Anytime you suffer damage to your jaw, whether it be your rib cage or your lower back,
00:26:30it's going to affect your offensive delivery as well.
00:26:32Your ability to strike, your ability to absorb punishment.
00:26:35Oh, pinning combination from Roxanne.
00:26:38Tremendous technical ability from the prodigy who has earned the nickname.
00:26:44No, we were just talking about it and you did see a moment ago as Lyra was reaching for her back.
00:26:50Baseball slides and now the roll up and a pinning combination and an arching bridge from Lyra.
00:26:57A little game of showmanship between both of these women flexing their abilities,
00:27:01but that might have been to the detriment of Valkyria.
00:27:04Her lower back only two minutes in or so already looks to be a factor and
00:27:08a great decision by Roxanne to just bury a knee to the body.
00:27:12Remember what is coming your way.
00:27:14CM Punk and AJ Lee will be face to face with Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch as we get ready for
00:27:22that mixed tag team matchup at Wrestle Palooza.
00:27:25Kick right to the small of Valkyria's back.
00:27:28Now it's becoming a target, isn't it?
00:27:30Absolutely, and you had to expect that when you're dealing with someone like Roxanne Perez,
00:27:34a student of the game, someone who studies her opponents night after night.
00:27:38But great leg sweep on Valkyria and a drop kick on the money.
00:27:41But there's a good example in the cross body even before that as she hooks the leg,
00:27:45looking to put it away.
00:27:46She's wincing and reaching for her back in the midst of an offensive series of attacks.
00:27:50And when you're a competitor like Lyra Valkyria who likes to rely on her speed advantage,
00:27:55an injury to the lower back, neutralize that and Raquel, she got caught red handed.
00:28:01Raquel Rodriguez just tripped her up and she's out of here.
00:28:04Raquel is ejected.
00:28:06She tripped her up when she was running the ropes right there.
00:28:09Meanwhile, a roll up in the ring.
00:28:11Roxanne's got a roll up.
00:28:12But the referee was distracted and it's just a count of two.
00:28:17The distraction of Rodriguez may have backfired in that instance.
00:28:21Perez executed the roll up.
00:28:23Jessica Carr was still busy paying attention to Raquel.
00:28:27Raquel Rodriguez thought she was helping out Roxanne Perez.
00:28:30She actually cost her right there.
00:28:33Here comes Lyra.
00:28:34Lyra!
00:28:37Two boots right to the face of the prodigy.
00:28:41And Valkyria fighting through the pain, looking to maintain her advantage.
00:28:45That force and velocity.
00:28:47Look at her even trying to take that step up back to the apron, wincing in pain.
00:28:54And now up top, can she deliver here?
00:28:57Oh, tripped up.
00:28:58Oh, the back of her head.
00:28:59Oh my god.
00:29:01And her lower back.
00:29:02Both the back of her head and her lower back.
00:29:05Coming down hard and Roxanne jumps right on top of her.
00:29:08Things just went from bad to worse for Valkyria.

00:29:31All of that momentum coming off the top rope when you're not expecting it, Corey.
00:29:37Roxanne tripping up Lyra Valkyria and it has turned this match greatly in favor of Perez.
00:29:42It's a testament to the skill level of Roxanne Perez,
00:29:45who is now targeting the back specifically.
00:29:48This is an agonizing situation for Valkyria.
00:29:51But one tiny opening is all you need to give Roxanne and she will capitalize.
00:29:56Cover here by Perez.
00:29:57Hooks the leg.
00:29:59And reaching out for that rope is Lyra.
00:30:01Now this is gonna allow Roxanne to settle into a bit of a slower pace.
00:30:06Utilize her technical abilities and pick apart the lower back of an injured Lyra Valkyria.
00:30:17It's always even just get whipped into that corner of damage that can be done.
00:30:20It's always impressive to me how calm in the heat of battle Roxanne Perez has the ability to remain.
00:30:27Particularly for such a young superstar.
00:30:29There's still so much for her to accomplish in this game.
00:30:31But she's already accomplished so much for such a young age.
00:30:34And does that speak to what you said earlier about when you gain that much experience as a teenager?
00:30:40Oh my god.
00:30:41Training at this level.
00:30:42Again, I mean time and again just putting a bullseye on that back.
00:30:46Absolutely.
00:30:47I mean you can take it all the way back to her days training under Hall of Famer Booker T.
00:30:52Booker T is one of the best teachers in the game and Roxanne is his star pupil.
00:30:55He will tell you that proudly.
00:30:56Look at this, double jump, moonsault across the back of Lyra.
00:31:00Lands it well.
00:31:01And look at that smile as she hooks the leg and goes into the cover.
00:31:04But able to kick out and get that left shoulder up is Lyra.
00:31:08And a smile like that from your opponent can really dishearten a competitor.
00:31:12If you're Lyra Valkyria and you look up and see Roxanne grinning from ear to ear like a Cheshire cat,
00:31:18it can do more internal damage, more psychological damage, than any sort of offense.
00:31:22Foxy, Foxy, Foxy, Foxy, Foxy.
00:31:26Perez trying to muscle up Valkyria.
00:31:28And she muscled her up from that position.
00:31:30It's Valkyria who counters in the backdrop and she has a moment of opportunity.
00:31:37You can see the agony on the face of Lyra Valkyria doing her best to valiantly fight
00:31:45through the pain to stay in this contest.
00:31:49This may be the opening Lyra was looking for.
00:31:52Boom.
00:31:53Crowd rallying behind Valkyria.
00:31:57And a spinning kick and now her striking sequence.
