00:09We want this engine to be pride of place in the brand new Sheffield Blitz exhibition
00:13that opens in the National Emergency Services Museum on December 13th, 2025.

00:28to really kind of generate momentum, that we can kind of get this pride of place
00:33where the people of the Sheffield, the wider region, can really appreciate what Sheffield lived through in December 1940.
00:40For over 2,000 people killed and wounded in Sheffield, nearly a tenth of the city's population
00:46made homeless the reason why so much of Sheffield looks like it does.
00:51There is so little to actually mark the attacks, and this is such a rare piece of living history.
00:57So the bombing was that intense in the Sheffield Blitz.
01:00It was way, way too much for the fire crews of Sheffield.
01:03So we were lucky enough that the fire crews from satellite towns such as you like,
01:08with your Rotherham, your Don Cassidy, Leeds, this engine came down from Barnsley,
01:12where we are today, to help, you know, fight the fires of Sheffield,
01:16help this stricken city in its absolute hour of need.
