00:00What do we do for a living? I'm a cook. Like a line cook? Yeah, a line cook. What hits your account on a monthly basis? About $2,000. Monthly? Yeah. Well, our business isn't as bumping. Why don't we go be a cook somewhere else? Other places need food to be cooked. Because nobody pays you over $10 an hour. Minimum wage is $7.25 in Mobile, Alabama. No, I get it. It's $7.25 here, but no one makes less than $18. Nobody pays more than $10. Low cost living area comes with lower pay. I was a server. I made $1,500 a week, but the business completely died off, so I wasn't making any money. Why'd the business die off all of a sudden? What happened?
00:29We don't know. We don't know. It's everywhere in Mobile. Everybody that we work with has two jobs. For example, Texas Roadhouse. I used to work there. I used to be bumping every day. Now, if you drive past Texas Roadhouse, there's nobody in the parking lot. Like, nobody's spending money in Mobile right now. Yeah, I mean, Mobile, it's been a declining population since about 2000. Yeah, it's lost almost 20,000 from its 200,000 peak, so that's pretty brutal.
