00:00All right, then I'm going to sue your whole town. You got that $5 billion?
00:04Welcome to WatchMojo. And today, we're looking at celebrities who responded to being parodied
00:10and possibly roasted on South Park.
00:13Well, I went to pay a visit to the youngsters at their school in South Park to talk to them
00:17about Thanksgiving.
00:20Number 50. Elon Musk. In Season 18, Elon Musk's new Tesla struggles to compete with Timmy's
00:27handy car service. Musk ultimately acquires Timmy's business for $2.3 billion, only a fraction
00:35of what he'd later pay for Twitter.
00:37After selling the handy car rights to Elon Musk, Timmy has raised $2.3 billion for summer camp.
00:44Speaking of which, Musk wrote on the app that he'd later rebrand,
00:48Kinda trippy seeing myself on at South Park. I've watched the show ever since the J vs.
00:53Essie Short, Brian Boitano. Musk returned to South Park in Season 20, telling Cartman and
01:00Heidi about SpaceX. Instead of being portrayed by Matt Stone again, Musk lent his own voice
01:05this time.
01:06Hello, everyone, and welcome to the tour. I'm Elon Musk. Are we going to have some fun today?
01:11Oh, great. A stupid tour guide.
01:13The South Park creators have bonded with Musk in real life. Trey Parker played Dungeons and
01:18Dragons with Musk, while Stone attended his SNL after-party. That doesn't mean Musk is
01:24off-limits now, however.
01:26Number 49. Tina Yothers
01:28Early South Park seasons often referenced actors from classic sitcoms who hadn't been in the
01:34limelight for a while. Tina Yothers of Family Ties is one example. In the show's first Halloween
01:39episode, the actress who played Jennifer Keaton is enlisted to judge a costume contest.
01:45Children, this year we have a celebrity judge, the star of Family Ties, Miss Tina Yothers.
01:51She picks Wendy's Chewbacca costume, much to the dismay of Kyle, who assumed that Yothers
01:57was dead. Stone later encountered Yothers at one of her shows, although he initially didn't
02:03recognize her. It was the first time he met a celebrity that South Park had made fun of.
02:07What? But she looks just like everybody else. Up yours, Tina Yothers!
02:11This naturally made Stone anxious, although Yothers turned out to be a South Park fan.
02:17She even played a soundbite from the episode before performing with her band.
02:21Number 48. Leonard Moulton
02:23Season 1's Mecca Streisand parodies several celebrities, some more positive than others.
02:30Film critic and historian Leonard Moulton got off easy. In fact, he's portrayed as one of the episode's
02:36heroes. He tracks down Chef to help him stop possibly the greatest threat that South Park
02:49would ever face, the director and star of Yentl. Moulton told the South Park creators that his kids
02:55appreciated the send-up. Years later, on the Tuned In With Jim Cummings podcast, Moulton recalled how
03:01someone once asked if he gave permission to be featured in South Park. His answer?
03:06Same permission Barbra Streisand gave.
03:07Cummings felt that being caricatured was when Moulton had made it. Indeed, it's not every day.
03:13You transform into Ultraman and fight Funny Girl.
03:17Number 47. Stevie Nicks
03:19In an episode dedicated to ridiculing Osama bin Laden, South Park also found room for Stevie Nicks,
03:26a singer whom Stone can't stand. I'm sorry, Ms. Nicks. Hey, guys, it's Stevie Nicks. Oh, wow!
03:33Nah!
03:33Can I get a picture?
03:34On an accidental trip to Afghanistan, the boys get stuck with the goats, which everyone else
03:40mistakes for Nicks. It wouldn't be the last time that South Park referenced the Fleetwood Mac
03:45member. A decade later in You're Getting Old, Nicks is referenced multiple times with their song
03:51landslide, closing out the episode. Nicks approved the song's usage, despite previously being portrayed
04:02as a farm animal. Nicks took the goat jab in good humor, calling it hysterical. She considers herself
04:08a South Park fan, adding,
04:10You have to roll with the punches here, and those guys are so clever.
04:13Number 46. PewDiePie
04:15A handful of celebrities have portrayed themselves on South Park. YouTuber PewDiePie is a unique
04:21case, popping up in live action.
04:24We're playing Call of Duty Advanced Warfare. Here we go.
04:27Ah! People are shooting at me, Bruce!
04:29Kyle finds it baffling that Ike would rather watch PewDiePie commentate on video games rather
04:34than play one. This mirrors how the South Park creators feel about Let's Play. Although Parker
04:40wrote of PewDiePie, I choose to see it as the birth of a new art form, and I don't think
04:46anyone should underestimate its most powerful artist. Parker and Stone used PewDiePie's Stick
04:52of Truth videos as feedback while making the fractured but whole. In a YouTube video, PewDiePie
04:58talked about how South Park reached out to him. PewDiePie naturally accepted the invitation
05:03to appear in two episodes, shooting his footage while visiting Japan.
05:07They needed me to do the lines while I was in Japan, so I had to bring my set-up to Japan,
05:14and it looked pretty ridiculous.
05:16Number 45. Billy Mays III
05:20In 2009, the deaths of numerous celebrities made headlines. Among them was famed pitchman
05:26Billy Mays. In South Park, Mays doesn't just haunt Ike like some of the other celebrity ghosts.
05:33He continues to sell products from beyond the grave.
05:36Hi, Billy Mays here for Mega Scrub Cleanser!
05:39Ahh!
05:40Are you tired of your kitchen counters getting those nasty stains? Don't just rub them,
05:45Mega Scrub them!
05:46Billy Mays, no!
05:48While it's hard to say how Mays would've responded to the parody, his son found it tasteful.
05:54Billy Mays III later said on social media. He heard his late father would be featured on
06:00South Park shortly before the episode aired. Knowing how South Park often bashes celebrities,
06:05he feared the worst. When Mays III watched the episode, though, he not only laughed, but
06:10also got surprisingly emotional.
06:12I'm proud that it exists, and shout out to South Park.
06:15Plus, his dad got to yell at Patrick Swayze. That's pretty cool.
06:20Number 44. Paul Watson
06:22Looking to save the whales and dolphins, Stan teams up with Paul Watson's crew. Stan finds that
06:28the Whale Wars team isn't as badass as they appear on TV, writing Watson off as a giant fraud.
06:34I thought you guys were pirates in a war! I'm a pirate in a war! Pirates don't worry
06:40about the law! You guys said you were badasses!
06:42When Watson gets harpooned, Stan replaces him as Sea Shepherd's captain. Even after Watson
06:47is taken out of the picture, the episode relentlessly mocks him. Although it's about as savage as South Park
06:53gets, the real Watson considered it a win for the whales.
06:57The crab-fishing reality show is doing just fine. Yeah! Woohoo!
07:01But for the Whale Wars crew, it appears the show is over.
07:05Watson wrote,
07:06Being ridiculed, lampooned, and insulted on South Park is a declaration to the world that
07:11Sea Shepherd and Whale Wars are effective. NF cracked through to the other side of the media
07:17culture curtain. Like Kenny, Watson brushed off, being killed off.
07:22Number 43. Andrew Tate. Wanting to show Stan and Tolkien how real men spend spring break,
07:29Randy throws a rager that attracts a sex trafficker.
07:32Look, I'm just trying to combat the messages that the liberal left is putting out to young
07:36men about their male instincts being toxic.
07:39Although the character is named Alonzo Fineski, he's clearly modeled after Andrew Tate. From his
07:45bald head to his toxic masculinity. The episode aired a few months after Romanian authorities
07:50raided the influencer's property and arrested him. While under house arrest, Tate wrote online,
07:56When I will be proven innocent, I look forward to help create the greatest South Park episode
08:01of all time. Although Tate seemed to take the episode as a compliment, Fineski isn't depicted
08:06in the most flattering light. His presence brings Randy nothing but trouble, which is often
08:12the case for those who get mixed up with Tate.
08:15It's okay, Randy. We're back.
08:17I'm sorry. I cut your trip short.
08:21It's okay, Randy. You made it longer than last spring break.
08:25Number 42. Lizzo. Obesity may be at a turning point thanks to semi-glutine, although the American
08:33healthcare system continues to burden people in need. Insurance denies Cartman is breakthrough
08:38drug, but the doctor offers an alternative. Lizzo.
08:42Please. There has to be something you can do.
08:46Alright. I'm gonna write you a prescription for Lizzo.
08:50Lizzo?
08:51She's a really good singer who talks about body positivity and just being happy with the
08:55way you look.
08:56He suggests that Cartman listen to the singer's songs, which promote body positivity. Sharon
09:01also goes on Lizzo, despite some side effects like pooping out your ears. When Lizzo heard
09:07about the episode, she described it as her worst fear. Filming a reaction video, Lizzo's
09:13mouth dropped, but in a good way. Lizzo felt the parody captured what she preaches, not giving
09:19a crap about what others think.
09:21Oh, oh, oh, Lizzo, bitch.
09:25So, even if the parody had leaned more negatively, Lizzo probably wouldn't have let it get under
09:31her skin.
09:32Number 41. David Blaine. Super Best Friends would be removed from circulation due to its
09:38depiction of Muhammad, although the episode focuses more on magician David Blaine.
09:43I've been traveling from town to town for quite a while. I've started quite a following
09:48mostly because of my levitation trick. Watch. Watch.
09:54Famous for his death-defying stunts, Blaine is depicted as a cult leader. Regarding South
09:59Park and other parodies of himself, Blaine said,
10:01"...I love all of it." The one thing about the South Park episode he didn't get was why
10:07they always had him say,
10:08"...twa!" at the end of sentences. Matt Stone later explained to Blaine that he had a high
10:13school friend who possessed this weird quirk.
10:15"...your magic is old and outdated, Jesus 12, just like you are."
10:19So, he worked it into the episode. According to the South Park creators, people seriously
10:24started asking Blaine for his Blaine-tology book, although they made that religion up.
10:30Number 40. George Clooney.
10:33George Clooney was among the first high-profile stars to champion South Park, sharing the Spirit
10:38of Christmas short. Not only did this spark a friendship, but Clooney voiced Sparky the Dog
10:43in Season 1, and the doctor in South Park, bigger, longer, and uncut.
10:47"...son, I have some bad news. We accidentally replaced your heart with a baked potato. You
10:52have about three seconds to live."
10:53In Season 10's Smug Alerts, Clooney's Oscar acceptance speech is depicted as so self-congratulatory
11:00that it contributes to a perfect storm. The episode aired only a few years after Clooney
11:06got the puppet treatment in Team America.
11:08"...we've all done action films. If anyone tries to get in our way, we'll show them just
11:12how tough us actors really are."
11:14Nevertheless, Clooney considers Stone and Parker friends, not taking offense to the South Park
11:18episode. As for Team America, Clooney said,
11:21"...I would've been offended if I wasn't in it."
11:24Number 39. Conan O'Brien.
11:27In the South Park movie, Terrence and Phillip drop by late night with Conan O'Brien, where they
11:32get arrested. "...make you nervous to be in America? There are a lot of organizations here
11:36that want you arrested for destroying children."
11:38"...oh, they'd have to find us first."
11:40"...you're right. Now!"
11:41"...terrence and Phillip, Mothers Against Canada is placing you under citizens' arrest!"
11:47Regretful for selling out his fellow comedians, O'Brien jumps out the window. Naturally, this was
11:53the clip that Stone and Parker brought when they appeared on O'Brien's show in 1999. According to Parker,
12:00the MPAA didn't sign off on them sharing this clip, although they managed to get a bootleg.
12:06O'Brien wasn't blindsided, as some of his interns saw the film before him.
12:10While O'Brien laughed, he noted that his studio was on the sixth floor, not the first.
12:16He also questioned his caricature's voice, which Brett Spiner, aka Data from Star Trek, provided.
12:22Apparently, Spiner's initial impression was meaner than what ended up in the movie.
12:27"...I like that better!"
12:29Number 38. Steven Spielberg
12:31In season 6's Free Hat, the boys take aim at Steven Spielberg and George Lucas for making
12:37unnecessary changes to their classic films.
12:40"...all we're doing is trying to reach a new audience with our movies.
12:43As the makers of dreams, we like to speak for the children."
12:46While Stone and Parker aren't sure how Lucas reacted, they did receive a letter from Spielberg.
12:52According to Stone, Spielberg wrote that he felt as if he had finally arrived now,
12:57that he was a villain on South Park.
12:59Although Spielberg complimented their sharp, witty sense of humor, the guys found the letter
13:04backhanded, sensing that he might have been at least a little pissed off.
13:08Parker also can't help but wonder if Spielberg never drastically altered Raiders of the Lost
13:14Ark because of this episode.
13:15What we want to know is how Spielberg feels about the other episode with Indiana Jones.
13:21Why would Spielberg and Lucas do this?
13:24Come on, let's go!
13:25Number 37. Jared Fogel
13:28South Park totally called society turning on Jared Fogel, albeit not for the reasons this season 6
13:35episode implied, the reason I was able to lose so much weight so quickly was that I got AIDS.
13:41The former Subway spokesman's reputation is ruined over a misunderstanding that, in retrospect,
13:48feels more like a red flag. Not long after it aired, Fogel said that he usually associated South
13:54Park with tasteless humor, yet he found it very flattering that they dedicated an entire episode
14:00to him saying, you know you've made it when shows like South Park start parodying you.
14:05It wouldn't be the last time that South Park made fun of Jared. Once Fogel's sex tourism scandal
14:11hit the fan, he returned to South Park with a far more devious demeanor.
14:15Send in Jared!
14:16Let's just say this parody was the least of his worries.
14:21Number 36. Seth MacFarlane
14:24While Seth MacFarlane has never appeared on South Park, the Griffins have.
14:29Stone and Parker made it clear that they aren't fans of MacFarlane's creation,
14:33arguing that the jokes don't connect to the story.
14:36When I make jokes, they are inherent to a story.
14:38Deep, situational, and emotional jokes based on what is relevant and has a point,
14:42not just one random interchangeable joke after another.
14:45What are you talking about? You don't understand?
14:48In the Family Guy episode, McStroke, there was almost a scene where a character named Trey
14:54assaults someone named Matt in a car.
14:57McFarlane revealed that they decided to cut the joke, feeling it was a low blow.
15:01Supposedly, Britney Spears asked to be on Family Guy in retaliation for her South Park episode,
15:07although McFarlane felt that would do more harm than good.
15:10I can't take it anymore!
15:12While McFarlane has mostly taken the high road, he did tell Howard Stern that South Park
15:17can go to hell. We think he was… joking?
15:20Number 35. John Edward
15:23South Park has roasted numerous celebrities over the decades. So-called psychic John Edward stands
15:29out as what Parker and Stone consider the biggest douche in the universe.
15:34I'm not a douche!
15:35In the episode, Edward continually denies this accusation. The real Edward has come to embrace
15:41the title, even bringing South Park up at his events. In Edward's eyes, having a whole episode
15:47about him is a sign that he's made a difference. It was free advertising. Edward argued that the
15:53episode has brought more attention to his gifts, introducing him to a new generation. There's no
15:59denying that a lot of people heard about Edward for the first time through South Park.
16:03What that does is that brings more people to me who would never know who I am,
16:07then they learn about the subject matter.
16:10The show has forever memorialized him, for better or worse.
16:15Number 34. Bill Donahue
16:17Season 11's Easter special depicts the Catholic League president as a megalomaniac who imprisons
16:23the pope, declares himself the church's new leader, and orders Jesus' execution before being killed
16:29himself. Based on how Donahue reacted, the parody might not have been too far off. Donahue has a
16:44still from the episode of his caricature dressed in the pope's attire. Recounting the episode,
16:49Donahue described the pope as a wimp, so he took over the church to give it some guts. Donahue
16:56was more offended by a Season 22 episode that depicted priests as predators.
17:01That's not what's going on. Your local priest was never here, actually.
17:05Yeah, he was. I played with him. Oh, you did.
17:09He gave a bizarre and homophobic response, arguing that most of the predators were gay.
17:15Donahue thus concluded, the cartoon victim characters should have been depicted as adolescents,
17:21not kids. Number 33. Kim Kardashian
17:25Kim Kardashian has been parodied multiple times on South Park, although her reactions have differed.
17:32In Season 14, Kim dies along with the rest of the Kardashian clan.
17:36Our nation is still reeling from the tragic deaths of the Kardashians.
17:40Kim K wrote,
17:41We were all dying when we saw this clip from South Park. Literally. LOL.
17:46Kourtney and Khloe also had a good sense of humor about it. While Kim was honored to be
17:51featured in this episode, Season 17's The Hobbits was another story. Wendy argues that without
17:58Photoshop, Kardashian looks like a hobbit. A source who spoke to Hollywood Life claimed that Kim was
18:04livid with what the guys from South Park did. All the Hobbit ever wanted was to be beautiful. And even
18:11though she was short and fat and hairy, this little hobbit dreamed that one day she could be pretty like
18:17Beyoncé.
18:18So a bloody death is fine, but a Bilbo Baggins comparison was too far? That is a very Kardashian
18:26mindset.
18:28Number 32. Isaac Hayes III
18:31Chef was more than a character. He was an extension of Isaac Hayes, who stopped voicing his animated
18:37alter ego after the show targeted Scientology. Despite ending on salty terms, Kyle concludes that
18:44Chef isn't to blame.
18:45We shouldn't be mad at Chef for leaving us. We should be mad at that fruity little club
18:50for scrambling his brains.
18:52The club that brainwashed him is. According to Hayes' son, Kyle was right. In recent years,
18:59Isaac Hayes III revealed that his father was recovering from a stroke when the episode re-aired.
19:04Hayes lost the ability to speak, so the church spoke for him. Hayes' son stated,
19:10My dad loved Matt and Trey. He loved that character. He loved the show.
19:15The legendary singer died in 2008, two years after his stroke. If Hayes were alive today,
19:21though, his son believes that he'd still be voicing Chef.
19:25Hello there, children.
19:26Hey, Chef.
19:26Number 31. James Cameron
19:29In season 16, South Park decided to tackle the perceived dwindling of human decency. Much of
19:36the episode poked fun at Mama June and Honey Boo Boo, but also included a humorous bit featuring
19:41Titanic director James Cameron.
19:43Mr. Cameron, you don't have to do this. Why don't you just go back to your house in Malibu? Go work on
19:48another movie. I have to do this. I have to try and raise it. The bar isn't something that actually
19:53lowers Mr. Cameron. Cameron's real-life interest in deep-sea exploration was depicted as a means to
20:00literally raise the bar on human morality. Between his obsession with his mission and the sea shanty
20:07his crew belted out, it's an entertaining poke at the Terminator director's oceanic hobby.
20:20During a Reddit AMA, he was asked about the episode and responded only with,
20:25it's funny. It's like they were actually on the expedition. Except I didn't actually make the crew
20:31sing a song about me.
20:32Number 30. Ed Sheeran
20:35Although not a direct parody of Sheeran himself, he certainly had a reaction to its release.
20:41During Season 9's Ginger Kids episode, Cartman does a presentation about red-haired children.
20:46We've all seen them, on the playground, at the store, walking on the streets.
20:50They creep us out and make us feel sick to our stomachs. I'm talking, of course, about Ginger
20:54Kids. Eric proceeds to describe them as disgusting creatures who have no souls and cannot survive in
21:01sunlight. While asleep, Kyle and Stan turn Cartman into a ginger, hoping for him to see the realities
21:07of his hate speech. Wow, Cartman, you look different. Yes, well, it's interesting you should point that out,
21:13Cab. According to Sheeran, despite having been mocked for his red locks back in England,
21:18no one in the United States ever said a word. That is, until Ginger Kids came along. In an interview,
21:25he implied the episode had ruined his life in America after it aired.
21:29Number 29. Richard Dawkins
21:33This two-part story arc of South Park took an extreme look at how the evolutionary process works.
21:39All right, kids. It is now my job to teach you the theory of evolution.
21:43Oh, boy.
21:44Now, I, for one, think that evolution is a bunch of bull crap, but I've been told I have to teach it
21:52anyway. Garrison is heavily opposed to teaching evolution until convinced otherwise by notable
21:58evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins. Their new romance spawns an alternate future where religion
22:04doesn't exist. You lived in the time when a great event happened, a glorious event that finally made
22:10all religion obsolete. Now, the entire world is atheist. The real-life Dawkins' reaction to his South
22:18Park counterpart was a mixed bag. He loved the satirical take on a future founded on evolutionary facts,
22:24but took issue with the relationship between his fictional self and Garrison, saying he found it to be
22:29not satire. Number 28. Rob Schneider
22:34Once a staple of Saturday Night Live, Rob Schneider left the comedy show to pursue a career in film
22:39acting. For a while, it seemed like Schneider's choices for roles all shared a common theme. From an
22:45animal to a gigolo and even a woman, he seemed to steer towards characters that fell into the fish-out-of-water
22:51trope. Rob Schneider was an animal. Then he was a woman. And now Rob Schneider is a stapler.
23:01South Park extended this even further by turning him into a stapler and a carrot. While appearing on
23:07the Club Random podcast with Bill Maher, Schneider discussed the episode and how he thought it was
23:12very funny. And knowing how brutal the show can be on celebrities, his depiction could have been far
23:17worse. 27. Ghost Hunters
23:31Seeing notable acts lose their cool over a parody can be entertaining, but often it's steering into
23:37the satire that endears them even more to us fans. During one episode, Kyle's brother Ike keeps seeing
23:44dead celebrities. This leads the folks over at Ghost Hunters to the Broflowski residence to see
24:02if they can solve this supernatural mystery. What follows is a brutal takedown on how the most mild
24:09sounds and smells can be spun to be the acts of the dead. During a Ghost Hunters live session in
24:14Milwaukee, the real Ghost Hunters played the clips from the show and jokingly called it a very accurate
24:20depiction of them, even going as far as to say…
24:2226. Danica Patrick
24:28Cartman has a dream of becoming a NASCAR driver, but is convinced he's not poor and stupid enough to do so.
24:34With the help of his gullible buddy Butters, Eric eventually finds his way into the world of NASCAR,
24:40alongside the likes of drivers like Danica Patrick.
24:43Bring it on, Eric Hart! You scared of the competition? I'm just as poor and stupid as you!
24:48I'm gonna drive, and I'm gonna go fast, and I'm gonna turn to the left sometimes!
24:53Can we just get back to the subject of racing, please?
24:55Oh, bring it on, Danica!
24:57Patrick, by far and large, comes off a lot easier in this episode than
25:01many others on this list. Shown to be more irritated by Cartman's behavior than anything,
25:06the real Danica Patrick took her portrayal in stride.
25:09Oh, son of a b----!
25:11During a press conference, she chuckled at the depiction of racers in general,
25:15and took it as a compliment to be featured in such an episode.
25:1925. Carlos Mencia
25:22Any fan of this show knows how much the writers love to poke fun at Kanye West,
25:27but during the infamous Fish Sticks episode, Carlos Mencia takes both a literal and figurative beating.
25:33It wasn't me! I didn't really start the fish stick thing, all right?
25:37You're just saying that now because you're scared.
25:40No, man, it's true! I stole it, man! I took credit for it because I'm not actually funny!
25:45While Wes takes his frustrations out physically on the comedian,
25:49the show also takes a swipe at the accusations of Mencia having stolen jokes from other comics.
25:55When asked about this appearance on the episode, Mencia took it all in stride and seemed to enjoy
26:01being mocked. He did, however, comment on how he was more surprised at the emotional blowback
26:06from the people in general regarding his joke-theft fiasco.
26:10What I didn't realize was the emotional, visceral reaction to all this from people. I didn't see that coming.
26:2024. Slash
26:23If you're old enough to be watching this, then The Secret of Santa Claus is probably out of the bag by
26:29now. But according to South Park, it's not as clear cut when it comes to the Guns N' Roses guitar player,
26:35Slash.
26:35Come on! Kids write to Slash every day, but it all just goes into this big pile over here.
26:42The reason I can't tell you where Slash lives is because he don't live nowhere. Don't you ever wonder
26:47how Slash can be all those places at the same time? It's because he's made up!
26:51One season 15 episode puts a spin on the Santa Claus narrative by portraying Slash as a magical figure
26:58who every kid thought was fake, but might actually be real.
27:01Kyle! Kyle! Look!
27:09You don't think that... but he isn't real!
27:12Maybe. Or maybe we haven't been told such a big fib after all.
27:16In our world, Saul Hudson, aka Slash, is indeed a real guitar player. But when asked by a fan in
27:24a Reddit AMA if he was real or made up by their parents, Slash said he was real but couldn't be
27:30100% positive of it.
27:3223. Chris Hansen
27:35Chris Hansen came into the public eye through his To Catch a Predator TV series. At the height of his
27:41popularity, South Park ran an episode where Hansen's signature style was used to help shine a light
27:47on Tourette's syndrome. It all started when I received this touching letter from a brave little
27:51boy in Colorado. Dear Mr. Hansen, I have Tourette's and I want the world to understand what it's like.
27:57Won't you do a special report on me so that the world can learn to accept us instead of just laugh?
28:02Cartman has been faking the condition to justify spouting hate speech without any consequences.
28:08Hoping to do his worst, Cartman gets Hansen to showcase him in a television special,
28:12which takes Hansen's real-life work and inflates it to a preposterous extent. When asked about it
28:18on the Law & Crime Network, the real Hansen praised the show's portrayal of him, even commenting on
28:24how his kids thought he was cool for being on that show. When Chris Hansen was parodied on South Park,
28:30that was a big deal. Suddenly I was cool.
28:3222. Meghan and Harry
28:35The marriage of Meghan Markle to Prince Harry brought an enormous amount of attention to the
28:40royal family, particularly when the duo chose to step away from their official duties to pursue
28:45a seemingly more normal life. However, it seems their contradicting reasons for their departure
28:51is what South Park took aim at.
28:53We want privacy! We want privacy!
28:57The episode eviscerated the duo's seeming frustration with a constant bombardment from the media
29:03and a lack of privacy, all while finding any way they can to draw attention to themselves.
29:08After the episode aired, Markle was allegedly very upset and overwhelmed with how they were portrayed.
29:14There were even reports of a possible lawsuit against the show and that insiders claimed future
29:19episodes would be monitored for further mockery.
29:21He's right. Trying to make ourselves into a brand just turned us into products.
29:26We don't need to be a brand, do we? If it's truly what we want, then we really can get away from it
29:32all. No more magazines and Netflix shows! We really can live a normal life!
29:3621. Nicole Snooki Laval
29:40When Jersey Shore first hit the airwaves, fans couldn't get enough of the antics, the catfights,
29:46and promiscuous behavior of the show's star, Nicole Snooki Palizzi.
29:50They're like so rude sometimes, like the way they say things. I'm not used to people being so rude
29:56like that. It's kind of offensive.
29:57It didn't take long before South Park dedicated an entire episode to poking fun at the ever-expanding
30:03world that was the Jersey Shore. One notable gag was their portrayal of Snooki as some type of
30:09carnal animal that attacked anyone who came near her.
30:12What is it? It's called a Snooki. It's very famous.
30:19The day after the episode aired, the real Snooki took to Twitter and quoted her South Park
30:24counterpart in saying,
30:25Snooki wants smush smush. We've officially made it. Clearly laughing at herself,
30:30it's a far better reaction than some of the others on this list.
30:34Why are you people doing this? But I told you it's just a Jersey thing.
30:3820. Robert Smith
30:40So this one is less parody, as it's just a rare appearance. But come on, it's Robert
30:47Smith of the Cure. Going all the way back to the first season of the show, Smith appeared
30:52as himself to help the boys fight Barbra Streisand. We'll get to her later.
30:57Am I too late? Who are you? Dude, it's Robert Smith of the Cure.
31:01Here, you boys, hold this walkie. You can help me fight her.
31:04Transforming into a Mothra-like creature, he defeats her and even as Jesus, call him their savior.
31:12Wow, Robert Smith is the greatest person that ever lived. Our savior.
31:16When asked about his appearance and portrayal years later, Smith was surprised by what he saw,
31:21but loved how Kyle gave huge props to the Cure's Disintegration album.
31:25Disintegration is the best album ever!
31:2819. Brian Boitano
31:31In the second Spirit of Christmas shorts, the boys can't decide whether to help Jesus or Santa.
31:37So when Stan asks, audiences are wondering why they'd ask for help from a figure skater.
31:43Now we've got to think here. Now let's see, what would Brian Boitano do?
31:48Yeah, what would Brian Boitano do?
31:52Did someone say my name?
31:53The same rang true in the South Park movie, but with a fantastic musical number that followed.
31:59What would Brian Boitano do if he was here right now? He'd make a plan and he'd follow through.
32:04That's what Brian Boitano do.
32:06Boitano himself saw the movie and worried about his portrayal, but came out loving what they had done.
32:11He's since worked with the creators to design t-shirts with a slogan and sell them for charity.
32:16On top of that, it introduced him to the likes of younger fans who now only know him through the show.
32:23Hi guys, Brian Boitano here. I just wanted to wish you a huge congratulations. I think your story is so incredible.
32:3018. Paris Hilton
32:33Near the end of Season 8, South Park took aim at Paris Hilton and her status as a role model for the young girls in town.
32:41I'm pleased to be here in Gouthdark to announce the opening of my brand new store,
32:45a store where girls can buy everything they need to be just like me.
32:49It's hard to tell which part is more brutal, the video playset at the mall or her competition with
32:54Mr. Slave that ends the episode. Either way, there's no mistaking how savage the show's takedown is.
33:02Oh no, she didn't.
33:03When asked what she thought, she responded by saying she had never seen the episode,
33:08but thought anytime someone makes fun of you, it should be taken as a compliment. Given how she's
33:13tweeted about watching the show at home, we're guessing she's still a fan.
33:17It's adorable!
33:1917. Terry Irwin
33:22How long after someone passes away are you allowed to tell jokes about them?
33:26Boy, there's a king croc right there. He must be 4 meters, 12, 13 feet long at least. This croc has
33:33enough power in his jaws to rip my head right off.
33:35In the case of South Park, it's seven weeks.
33:38You know, the whole crocodile hunter thing, it's just a little soon, you know? I mean,
33:42he just died a few weeks ago and it's just not super cool. You gotta leave.
33:47Famed crocodile hunter Steve Irwin had been fatally injured in September of 2006.
33:53In late October of the same year, South Park aired an episode that featured him with a stingray
33:58sticking out of his chest. Terry Irwin, Steve's wife, was incredibly offended by the portrayal,
34:03citing concerns about how her children would feel if they saw it. She found support in her friend,
34:08Mark Aimee, who suggested Irwin fans sick their dangerous pets on the creators of the show in protest.
34:15Hey, Satan, you got a little problem.
34:17What?
34:18Somebody showed up in a crocodile hunter costume. It's really offending some of the other guests.
34:22Oh, jeez.
34:24Number 16. Sarah Jessica Parker
34:27One thing the creators of South Park have always stood by is their idea that anything and everything
34:33is fair game when it comes to comedy. No writer would take the time to make fun of Sarah Jessica Parker
34:39just because they think she's ugly. Yes, they would.
34:42So when female writers called them out for being mean about tearing into Sarah Jessica Parker over
34:47her looks, the two, once again, didn't hold back. The book is full of disgusting words and acts,
34:53including Sarah Jessica Parker, who is mentioned 465 times.
34:58Despite what anyone else thought, Parker herself never addressed the episode directly. Instead,
35:04in an interview with Stylist magazine, she commented on how people seem to think being mean is funny.
35:10She went on to add that personal versus professional criticism was uncivilized and vulgar.
35:17Well, obviously, I just think it's wrong to make fun of anybody's physical appearance.
35:21My wife is a beautiful woman, and I know that most people agree with me.
35:25Number 15. Mama June Shannon
35:28Shows like Toddlers and Tiaras and Here Comes Honey Boo Boo have received all kinds of criticisms
35:34regarding the depictions of their stars. Her favorite foods are skeddy and butter,
35:39and she likes drinking Red Bull and Mountain Dew. The latter has been the subject of countless
35:44commentary about the family's diet and lifestyle choices over the course of its four seasons.
35:49Come on, come on now, boo-boo. Now get up and wave to them judges. Given the type of language often used to
35:57describe the popular TLC program, there's a lot of irony in June Shannon's reaction to being satirized
36:03on South Park. During a TMZ appearance, she was asked what she thought of the parodies of her show.
36:09Taking some in stride, she wasn't a fan of how South Park took her on, saying,
36:13"...but just the way they portrayed the show, it was just… it was kind of trashy."
36:18Number 14. Bob Saget
36:21As the original host of America's Funniest Videos, Bob Saget's quips were subtle,
36:26and often bordered on some of the worst dad jokes out there.
36:30Now these next clips are all about coincidence. Now suppose at the moment that I opened my mouth,
36:34from somewhere in the background you heard, like, a rooster crow. That would be coincidence.
36:38Unless I worked on a poultry farm.
36:40Yet week after week, people would tune in to see what videos were coming next.
36:44Back in season one of South Park, Bob's gig as a host was parodied as Stan's grandfather watched
36:50America's Stupidest Home Videos. Grandpa Marsh loved the jokes,
36:54but the boys found them incredibly lame.
36:57Knock, knock. Bob. Bob Saget.
37:06This guy sucks!
37:07During a Reddit AMA, Bob Saget was asked about his portrayal on South Park.
37:11He responded by saying he loved how Grandpa laughed at his jokes.
37:15Comparing it to relationships, he said the parody felt good and hurt all at the same time.
37:20I come out and I look like, you know, Beavis and Butthead meets Frankenstein.
37:24Number 13. Martha Stewart
37:27Martha Stewart and her various shows have been depicted several times over the years on South Park.
37:33Back now with more on Martha Stewart Living.
37:35Her first appearance saw us learn about an unusual way to consume a Thanksgiving Day turkey,
37:40whereas a season 13 episode gave us one of the most creative ways to make use of paper and
37:45glitter crafts. Either way, much like Bob Saget, she also addressed her appearances on South Park
37:51during a Reddit AMA.
37:53Mrs. Stewart, we have some questions.
37:54Not right now. I just want to focus on my turkey.
37:57Her answer was quick and simple. I thought it was really cute. We're not sure if she saw
38:01both of these episodes, but we're guessing she thought they were a good thing.
38:05So now we're ready to go. Looks delicious. Let's try it out.
38:07Number 12. Sally Struthers
38:10Sally Struthers may have got her start on All in the Family, but she went on to become a spokesperson
38:16for ChildFund, a charity focused on helping children in third world countries. Her commercials
38:22would often air on television showing her amongst the kids. Hunger is an enemy that we all must fight.
38:28These children desperately need your support. South Park did their own story about children in Africa
38:34and featured an oversized Struthers who had been hoarding all of the donated food.
38:38Yes! Sally Struthers is holding food from us!
38:44Uh-oh.
38:46According to the season 1 DVD commentary, Struthers was a big fan of the show until this episode aired.
38:53It continues by saying she was so bothered by what she saw in the episode that she was emotionally
38:58distressed for days. People thought it was really mean to Sally Struthers and apparently Sally Struthers
39:03was a fan of South Park up until she saw this episode,
39:07and it really bummed her out and what we heard is that she cried for like days.
39:10Number 11. Nick Jonas
39:12To kick off season 13 of South Park, Kenny and his new girlfriend go off to see the Jonas Brothers in concert.
39:19Oh my god! It's that tingling again!
39:21Until then I have to diss you!
39:25The episode takes shots at the brothers by mentioning how they wear purity rings and are
39:30essentially servants to a maniacal Mickey Mouse.
39:33Well, well, maybe we'll just refuse to go on stage!
39:38During a 2016 Reddit Ask Me Anything, Nick Jonas admitted he wasn't a big fan of the episode when
39:44it originally came out. He said that he had so much going on when he was parodied that it was hard to
39:49find the humor in it. However, the episode has since grown on it.
39:58He finds it funny and has watched it several times since then. It's nice to see Nick Jonas
40:03being able to laugh at his younger self.
40:05Number 10. Cesar Millan
40:08In season 10's Tssst episode, Cartman's mom hires Cesar Millan as a trainer to try and get Cartman in line.
40:15Mom, this is degrading! Ah, god damn it!
40:18By treating him much like a dog, it doesn't take long for the celeb to make Cartman listen and behave.
40:24Oh, Eric, I'm very proud of you.
40:28Thank you?
40:29I love you, sweetie.
40:31Okay, mom, you're embarrassing me. Jeez.
40:33This entry is unique and that it's the only one on the list where the person being featured made their
40:38own YouTube reaction video for their episode. For the better part of almost 20 minutes, Cesar breaks
40:43down the different things the show did and said. The clothes that I'm wearing is exactly what I used to wear.
40:50He's more than complimentary to the creators and shows a genuine love for what they do.
40:55They did an incredible job of representing exactly, exactly what I do.
41:04Now, that is how you react to being on South Park.
41:07Number 9. Al Gore
41:10When Season 10's Man-Bear-Pig episode aired, it was intended to poke fun at how frequently Al Gore
41:16wanted to talk about climate change.
41:19Man-Bear-Pig?
41:20It is the creature which roams the Earth alone. It is half man, half bear, and half pig.
41:28The creators had no problem roasting how intense the politician got about his beliefs. Yet more than 10
41:34years later, they'd changed their minds and made an in-episode apology to Gore.
41:39Not real at all.
41:43During an appearance on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, Gore was asked about what he thought of his
41:48portrayal. Not only did he think his original episode was funny, but he praised the show for
41:53later acknowledging how real Man-Bear-Pig turned out to be. It was great to see Gore take everything
41:58in stride and appreciate what the show had done.
42:01I thought it was a hell of a statement by South Park, and I appreciated it a lot.
42:06Number 8. Russell Crowe
42:08You walked right through my shot, mate! Do you know who I am?
42:12Oh, excuse me, I was just…
42:14Never afraid to go after whomever was causing a stir in the real world,
42:18the folks at South Park took aim at gladiator star Russell Crowe.
42:22He loves to act, but he loves one thing more, fighting around the world.
42:26He'd been in the news several times due to his aggressive behavior. The writers took this to
42:31the nth degree and devoted an entire storyline, where they showed him as a person who just picks
42:36fights around the world.
42:37Oh, you wanna fight, huh? Think you can take me, you little buggers?
42:41When Crowe appeared on 60 Minutes, he was asked about his portrayal on the show. He was quick to
42:46compliment Parker and Stone for their work. Crowe also admitted that seeing himself in such an
42:51exaggerated manner actually got him to reflect on his own life.
42:55For me, a lot of it, you know, if there was something for me to learn from it,
42:59is the analogous thing, you know? Because I did think the whole thing was a fight. I did think
43:04my whole career was a struggle, you know? Judging from his statements, it seems as though seeing
43:10his depiction on South Park may have actually been therapeutic for the actor.
43:14Number seven, George R. R. Martin.
43:17It's the Red Wedding, isn't it? You hate how I killed everyone off!
43:20South Park once opted to do a three-part episode devoted to HBO's Game of Thrones. The epic comedy
43:27is set in and around Black Friday. During the story, the boys fight each other over access to
43:32the two new game consoles coming out that weekend. Part way, though, George R. R. Martin, the author of
43:38the books which inspired Game of Thrones, appears. He tries to help the boys with dragon knowledge,
43:43but keeps talking about one particular part of human anatomy.
43:47Stop, please! I can't take any more!
43:50But this is the best part!
43:51The real Martin is a fan of the show and largely likes his South Park portrayal,
43:56but he did have a hilarious and not exactly safe-for-work response indicating that he's
44:00actually obsessed with another physical feature of human beings.
44:04No matter how many times we talk about Randy Marsh as Lord, it still makes us laugh.
44:12Lord, we're all big fans of your music and we thank the world of you for staying and working
44:17here even after your music career took off.
44:19Well, my music and fluvial geomorphology are intertwined.
44:22But knowing what the singer herself thinks about it makes the plotline even better. At the start of
44:27season 18, we get a glimpse of Randy Marsh dressed up as Lorde singing.
44:32Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I am Lorde, yeah, yeah, yeah. Lorde, come in, Lorde, yeah, yeah, yeah.
44:37This turns into a story later on where we find out he's the real singer and is struggling to maintain
44:43his dual identities. My girls are big fans of your music, Lorde, but the women here aren't
44:48comfortable sharing a bathroom with… With what?
44:52During an interview and on her own social media outlets, Lorde gave praise for the show's
44:57portrayal of her. She even went as far as to do an impression of Randy doing his impression of her.
45:02Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm Lorde, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
45:04Lorde's meta compliment is a huge sign of her approval.
45:08Number 5. Barbara Streisand
45:11Way back, during the first season of South Park, the show decided to take aim at Barbara Streisand.
45:16I'm going where there's lucky clovers in the…
45:23Yeah, that sucks, dude.
45:24The show's creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, chose her mainly out of her distaste for their
45:29home state of Colorado, whom she had swore to never return to. After being portrayed in the episode
45:35Mecca Streisand, the singer responded with a fairly serious answer.
45:46Instead of simply taking the jab with a grain of salt, she called out their particular brand of satire.
45:51Streisand claimed shows like South Park add cynicism and negativity in our culture,
45:56especially in children. Stone and Parker clearly didn't take her comments too much to heart,
46:01because they continued to make fun of her. There she is, Tom. Barbara Streisand.
46:16My god, she's even more terrifying than I remembered.
46:18Number 4. Jennifer Lopez
46:20When 2003 rolled around and JLo made her first appearance on South Park, the singer-actress
46:27wasn't exactly a fan. But you don't have to ask me. You can ask my special guest,
46:32Ms. Jennifer Lopez. No way. Ms. Lopez, come on out here. Hello. Oh, Jesus Christ.
46:41My name is Jennifer Lopez. I eat tacos and burritos.
46:45Even prior to the episode's airing, it appeared that South Park co-creator Trey Parker had already
46:50gotten on her bad side after infamously wearing her dress to the 2000 Oscars. After season 7's
46:57Fat Butt and Pancake Head came along, the bad blood she had for the show and its creators seemed to
47:02intensify. That? That's what replaced me? I'm sure it was just a mistake. Only mistake was when this
47:07ghetto trash got signed in the first place. Shut your goddamn mouth. Parker and Stone had even heard that
47:12people were allegedly fired from the set of a JLo movie after repeating lines from the episode
47:18around her. We wouldn't recommend mentioning the show at all if you're ever around the pop star.
47:23Do you remember what I want to order? Three tacos, two tostadas, and a soda pop.
47:27Number 3. Kanye West
47:29Do you like fish sticks? Love them. You're a gay fish.
47:34Do you like fish sticks? Well, apparently Kanye West doesn't. You really don't get it.
47:44Hey man, I'm a genius, alright? I'm the most talented musician in the world.
47:48During a season 13 episode, Cartman and Jimmy come up with a silly joke about fish sticks that
47:54serves as a double entendre. Although everyone on earth is laughing at the joke, the only one who
48:00doesn't get it is Kanye West. Things went slightly differently in the real world when West responded
48:17to his portrayal with an all caps POST. During the post, he claimed he was working on some of
48:23the negative aspects of his personality and talked about the nature of celebrity. But West also
48:28complimented the show's creators and admitted to finding the show funny. It was weirdly inspiring
48:34to see the musician rolling with the punches. However, a lyric from his song, Gorgeous, may have
48:39indicated that he was still feeling bitter about the whole ordeal. We make him say, oh, cause the game's
48:45so pimpish. Choke a South Park writer with a fish stick. Number 2. Tom Cruise
48:51Elrond! It really is you. Oh, this is the greatest day of my life.
48:57South Park has made itself known as being willing to go after anyone, regardless of who they are.
49:03One of the most well-known reactions to an episode of the show came after season 9's
49:08Trapped in the Closet episode. The story poked fun at both Scientology and Tom Cruise.
49:13Tom, don't you think this has gone on long enough? It's time for you to come out of the closet.
49:19I'm not in the closet. Rumor has it that the actor was so offended by the episode that he threatened
49:24to pull his Mission Impossible 3 press tour unless the network agreed to not rerun the episode in
49:30question. Whether or not Cruise actually made this threat was irrelevant, because the original
49:37re-airing was pulled. It did make the air again, eventually, without issue, long after the heat of
49:43the actor controversy cooled down.

50:03If you're on your phone, make sure you go into your settings and switch on notifications.
50:071. Donald Trump South Park has gone after Trump before, but
50:15they went harder than ever in the season 27 opener with a Saddam Hussein twist.
50:20Hey, come on, you don't want me to bomb you like I did Iraq.
50:24I thought you just bombed Iran. Iran, Iraq, what the hell's the difference? Relax, guy!
50:28The White House wasn't amused responding, this show hasn't been relevant for over 20 years,
50:34and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention.
50:40Well, this episode wound up being one of the most watched in years, so South Park is far from
50:47irrelevant. Trump returned in the following episode with a puppy-shooting Kristi Noem and pint-sized
50:53JD Vance. Noem fired back, it's so lazy, it constantly makes fun of women for how they look.
50:59Only the liberals and extremists do that. Vance avoided kicking the hornet's nest, simply posting,
51:09well, I've finally made it. Which parodied South Park celebrity do you want a response from?
51:15Let us know in the comments.
51:17What's this? It's a prescription for Lizzo. Rich people get olympic, poor people get body positivity.
51:29I can set up when I start get a tattoo, who feels She's chiffonetully's nest, and she
51:40does not give him any notion of how to approach it. In each a moment because she doesn't
51:46have a place to be worshipped so she doesn't have to come. Now that I 구 a place to go,
51:51so that it will never be the same thing that represents that she didn't!
