00:00Hey Pep, just checking, is Phil available on Sunday, he's missed a couple of games?
00:05How important is it that we kind of see the Phil of a couple of years ago for you guys this season?
00:10Obviously a lot of senior players have left, Kevin's left, Phil's had that kind of difficult year last year,
00:16he's only played 15 minutes so far this season, how important is it that he gets back to his best
00:19and what can you guys do about him getting back to his best, is it just a case of playing?
00:23Yeah, he's the first I'm looking for, desperate to feel happy and the joy and every training session,
00:34he's smiling his face and can contribution so one of the reasons why last season we struggled
00:40because we miss him a lot in the final third and the creativity and the work ethic and yeah, top with that.
00:50Do you sense then that he is back to that player who was so dominant when you won the league two years ago,
00:56the best player in England, do you sense in training that he's getting back there and he just needs to be fit?
01:00You know, we have a glimpse of, oh he's coming back and after a knock, one week then he's stopped
01:07and after a comeback and another knock and one, he had not had to be, all the players to come back
01:14has to be, you know, play games and be, you know, day by day, that is what you have to try to do.
01:19Hi Pep.
01:20He has to try anyway.
01:22Hi.
01:23Pep, ever since you came to Manchester United have either been in a state of turmoil, change, transition
01:28after Sir Alex Ferguson's years of success here.
01:33Yet throughout all that time when United have been way more unstable than Manchester City,
01:40they've always had a propensity to get a victory on Derby Day, sometimes at the Etihad, occasionally at Old Trafford,
01:48but they've got a decent record at the Etihad. They did it again last season, a few years ago,
01:53scored a couple of goals to get United from behind to win. Does that make this a dangerous fixture still?
02:00Listen, always I thought about that. There are teams that beat us, you know, at the end, at the end is, of course,
02:06all the respect for United, you know, I'm so nice. I have a huge respect for history and what they have done in the past,
02:15the legacy for the English football, legacy for football. So they beat us, they beat us. At the end is, finish the season.
02:21You know, in the 90s, always was in front, maybe Man City beat them sometimes, home and away,
02:28and in 27 years, they won 30 times the Premier League. So in the last nine years, we won six times the Premier League.
02:37In the last eight, we won six. So that's why at the end, it will count at the end. At the end, we were better,
02:42and since I arrived, always we were better than them, always. Ten years, nine years, always we were better,
02:46with a huge, huge amount of points we have done to him. They can beat us, of course. We're going to be beaten tomorrow,
02:52no, on Sunday, no, because we need the points. We need to break the rhythm, the two defeats, and do it that.
02:59But I don't count about what will happen. Of course, it hurts because I won the points to help us to win the trophies
03:05or be there, and of course, it's a special game for our fans and the other one. But we will try to do it, yeah.
03:10Also, just following on from that, obviously, you know, City's record over the last few years,
03:18as you say, has been fantastic, way better than United. So even though this is not the United of the past,
03:24do you still get some pleasure from finishing above them on Derby Day and also finishing above them in the league still?
03:33I'm happy to finish with the Champions of the Premier League. That is what I like.
03:37And to do it, you have to be United, yeah. Sometimes we don't win it, and we won it.
03:43So it's not тАУ honestly, I don't have much pressure. Of course, it's important because it's special,
03:52but it's just try to be focused on what you have to do, the motions, have the motions, but not enough,
03:57and what do you have to do? I think that is the most. It doesn't matter.
04:02So at the end, it's how far you are, you qualify for the Champions League, you fight for the titles,
04:07you are in the finals in the FA Cup and this kind of stuff.
04:11So when it can be, it's United. It's United. Going good or bad, always, you know, have good players
04:16and just to see how they are spending the last decade.
04:20But what happened, I don't know. I didn't speak with the owners or the CEOs of the United
04:29to know exactly the reality of what happened.
04:32Hi, Pat. You say it's great to have the focus on United and, you know, these big games,
04:36but has it also been quite nice, whether it be in the international break,
04:38you've taken time at the tennis and at the golf that actually it's not the focus for all the time
04:43because it can be a bit too intense.
04:44And, you know, what do you take from those individual sports that you can bring back here?
04:48How good they are.
04:50When you leave the final in Grand Slam and after seeing a round with Tommy Flippi,
04:57how they hit the ball in the golf course, they play another game.
05:03You know, all of us, we play tennis sometimes, play golf, but it's another game.
05:07That's why they are in the high competition.
05:09The highest level is another history.
05:11And it's always a pleasure to see the behaviours, how they behave, how they play.
05:15It's really, really good.
05:17In terms of individual sportsmen, obviously you're relying purely on yourself to perform here.
05:21It's a team sport.
05:22Is there something different that you can take to take to Erling and the other players and things like that?
05:28In terms of mindset, no.
05:29In terms of mindset, we have a lot to learn of these kind of guys
05:32because they saw every point and senior Alcaraz, for example,
05:36and every point that they lost or miss one shot just in the sadness one second.
05:43Another one, see his manager's trainer, they said, let's go, let's go, let's do it.
05:48The body language were unbelievable.
05:51The mindset can be the same.
05:52But when you analyse one player, other player is playing bad.
05:56Let's play with 10 more.
05:58And 10 more make that player good or bad sometimes.
06:00Not it depends on yourself.
06:02So that's why it's that.
06:06Thanks, everyone.
06:07Done?
06:09Apologize again.
06:10But tomorrow you have day off, right?
