00:00What's up? Paul here from Guitar World and today we're going to be checking out
00:02IK Multimedia's exciting new online platform, ToneNet. Let's check it out.
00:22What is ToneNet? Well, ToneNet is a free web platform with social features dedicated to
00:27guitar and bass players for exchanging AmpliTube 5 presets with other users and for finding the
00:33latest ones from VIP artists and popular musical instrument brands. It's also open to other
00:38musicians or anyone interested in what's happening in AmpliTube's ever-expanding universe of Tone.
00:44And best of all, you can join the ToneNet community for free. Everything about ToneNet is designed for
00:49making it your home base and community center, for managing your profile, exchanging AmpliTube
00:55presets with other users from around the world, and for finding the latest ones from VIP artists
01:00and brands. At ToneNet, you can check out all the shared new sounds and try them out or upload your
01:06own, follow other users, plus you can access ToneNet from within any version of AmpliTube 5,
01:12even the free custom shop edition. You can also connect via your favorite web browser for everything
01:17outside of uploading or downloading presets, which has to be done within AmpliTube 5. In AmpliTube 5,
01:24you have direct access to ToneNet, where you can see all presets, your presets, and liked presets.
01:29You can also zero in and refine searches with a multitude of filters. You can click a preset to
01:35download immediately or preview and listen to its audio demo. If a preset has gear you don't own,
01:41you'll see the lock button, but you can demo it for up to three days via the custom shop. Presets can
01:47include the entire signal chain, including pedals, amps, calves, virtual outboard gear, and rooms.
01:53Uploading your preset is super easy. Select one of your saved presets in AmpliTube 5,
01:59hit the upload button, and fill out the preset info form. Plus, you can add and record an audio demo from
02:06your computer, or add SoundCloud or YouTube links with it. Then just hit share, and your preset gets
02:12uploaded to ToneNet with your signal chain and settings for all to see. Very easy to search new
02:18presets. Once you pick one, it displays all the relevant info and signal chain, as well as a sound
02:25sample. Let's take, for example, if I want to find presets with Randy Rhoades, I can type in Rhoades
02:31and then hit return, and it's searching for presets on ToneNet of Randy Rhoades.
02:36And you can see all the Randy Rhoades presets from different users.
03:00Let's do Van Halen.
03:06Brian May.
03:36Brian May.
03:40That's a signal chain. And you can see that's his amp.
03:43That's the, that's what he's using. He's also using a Rockman sustainer
03:49in there. And then you can see his pedal boards.
03:55Here he has a battery-powered amp on a 9-volt, which is cool.
03:59And you can take a look at his crazy signal chain, what he's got going on here from his,
04:21his, from his pedals to where it goes. This is the room sound. He's got it in a,
04:27in a controlled room here. And of course, he's got a wet, dry mix. And then of course,
04:32you see all the outboard gear that he's using to get that sound. And then he harmonizes it
04:37on the very back end of his signal chain. There's the harmonizer.
04:52Let's take a look and listen to some of the presets I created for ToneNet. So go under my
05:01profile, check that out. I did a bunch, like a great cross section. I did like one metal.
05:06I did a bunch of Marshall type of sounds. So there's some really cool stuff in there. And I did also some
05:12country as well, and some really edgier type of sounds. And it's all over the place. So take a listen.
05:19And of course, as you dig in, you'll notice that I do like the Marshall type of sound.
05:24I definitely love the Memory Man, and I definitely love compressors. So let's dig in and try out some
05:29of these. Here's Sweet Leslie is her name.
05:49Marshall Wall of Rhythm.
06:08Marshall Wall of Rhythm.
06:18Paul's Marshall Wall of Rhythm.
06:30Paul's Marshall Wall of Rhythm.
06:36This is On the Edge of Break Up and Beyond. This is an interesting, this is a different one.
06:53On the Edge, which is a little more like a pumpkin-y type of deal.
07:22This is another Marshall preset. Hi-Ho! Using All Silver Jubilees. Marshalls.
07:34This is another Marshall preset. Hi-Ho! Using All Silver Jubilees. Marshalls.
07:47Paul really likes the Marshall sound. And I got a very different varieties of that.
08:00Now here's Paul trying to be doing the best Jeff Buckley recreation here.
08:19For me...
08:26inztrandpp.
08:31Edgy neck driver, this is another alternate tone with using your neck.
09:01Country chime, sparkle, this is more of like my Brad Paisley.
09:31And here's a different alternate take on that, this is country glitter sparkle, sort of the
09:52same sound but a little more different frequencies.
10:07Delayed on the street, which is sort of a U2-ish.
10:14You can see right here.
10:21And here's a different track.
10:29The New York City of New York City of New York City of New York City.
10:34The New York City of New York City of New York City of New York City.
10:37You can see right now I split the signal three ways and over here you can see I have a chorus
10:50on this one and then you have three different of this amplitube style what they call the mini
10:57Plex 20 and what's great is I can swap out any one and then get to hear what that sounds like
11:06and then if you want and going here if you want to hear what it sounds like with there it had the chorus
11:20no chorus of course if you're using the signal chain I can add in like other effects right here
11:40drop it right in you can see can even add a phase nine here really go nuts
11:50yeah
11:52yeah
11:56yeah
11:58yeah
12:04yeah
12:08yeah
12:12I can move this anywhere in the chain however I want it and if I don't want it I can just get rid of it
12:38I'll audition different types of cabinets I can even put a sort of a 410 if I wanted to
12:50add a 412 if I feel like it like an orange
12:56or if I want more of a metal cabinet sounding
13:06add one of these cabinets a satch
13:14you can move the microphones closer however you want it
13:18you can even get in there change all the settings here pan left and right move these microphones
13:30you can even get to the VR tech here where you can start moving the speaker anywhere around
13:36rotate this anywhere you'd like
13:40the VR tech
13:42this is cab one
13:44right over here cab one the room is this one
13:48let's take a look
13:50I can even change the room if I want

13:56put it in that
13:58you can change the speakers
14:00different types of speakers to choose from
14:04obviously you have your choice of mics
14:06then there's the collection
14:10this is where the brands and artists like
14:12this is like a dime bag collection
14:14of that you can just pick something of like
14:16that's just the speakers
14:18that I mean that's just that but you can see the amps
14:20if I hit amp
14:22and look under the dime bag collection tells me the amps I'm available
14:24and the
14:26if I hit on
14:28pedals
14:30the dime bag for example
14:32where is he yeah those are the pedal he uses
14:34and then you get to the outboard gear over here we have
14:38a bunch of outboard collection of gear
14:46where I can add like modulation
14:48even on the end of the chain
14:54delay I also like dynamics so I like to put
14:58you can put one of these in there
15:00add a little dynamics
15:02and then of course once you have this all set
15:20once you find what you're looking for
15:24I can take this
15:28take this thing and upload it
15:30to ToneNet here I can save it
