The UK has imposed 100 new sanctions targeting Russia’s revenues and military supplies. It comes as Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper travels to Kyiv in a show of solidarity with Ukraine.

00:07The move comes as its Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper travels to Kiev in a show of solidarity with Ukraine in its war with Russia.
00:17The new sanctions will hit 70 more ships which the UK said were being used to transport Russian oil,
00:23along with 30 companies and individuals accused of supplying the Russian military with components for weapons systems.
00:31Among them are an electronic firm based in China and another in Turkey.
00:36The package was announced in response to Russia's largest air assault on Ukraine,
00:41as well as its recent violation of NATO airspace over Poland in the past week.
00:46Cooper said international action to cut off Russia's cash flows is crucial,
00:50adding that the sanctions represent the next phase in the UK's efforts to combine economic pressure with security support for Ukraine.
