04:48has made strides in making everyone feel welcome and
04:52fashionable, from people of varying body types,
04:56gender identities, to even those with fabric allergies.

05:10Painful skin conditions like moderate to severe eczema.
05:15And that may make it difficult to find fashionable clothes that work for them.
05:19So for this challenge sponsored by Lilly, you will be making a look for women and men who struggle with eczema.

07:07feel comfortable like with what you wear are you like allergic to any fabrics or you know if there's
07:12a flare-up that's like sometimes i'd be more conscious of something and i would just avoid
07:16like things that are really scratchy okay perfect you know what i mean well i'm gonna line everything
07:19in silk so you're comfortable brilliant like nothing but luxury please okay yeah this is a
07:25tufts challenge we have to make them feel comfortable but i also have to make him feel like
07:30a fashionista i want to make him feel cool so i'm thinking like really cool pants you know like a
07:35jacket and then like a really low v shirt it's like a little effeminate for me
07:41are you seriously being for real but i also want to like work with you no no no and we can play that
07:47would that wouldn't be like my first thought though you like and but i also want to take you out of
07:51your comfort zone and i want you to make a piece that you're gonna wear and be like wow that's hard
07:55to take me out of my comfort zone i don't know but i'm gonna be my challenge okay all right yeah we
08:00talked about the challenge but then all of a sudden like we started really getting closer and talking
08:05of like just life where do you want to get married mexico for sure i properly speak spanish and i know
08:09like a lot of americans say this but oh my god then my husband are we on a date right now like you
08:17speak spanish that's perfect oh my gosh my boyfriend's gonna be so jealous hey sus you need to focus bro
08:25come on concentrate concentrate i want to forget that eczema is a thing right i want to feel so
08:33pretty that like my skin is not even a concern so like show whatever you want because like the outfit
08:38is that good that's how i feel my whole mo with drag queens is creating a gaggy moment but i'm feeling
08:47a little daunted because i'm hoping i can bring my big crazy sensibilities to a real person what would
08:55you like to reveal can we show leg show that yeah love those those work my favorite color is white a
09:03white is a really good base that can be revealed into something else so i think we have some fun ideas
09:09but okay i don't know if we have the one i don't have my vision quite yet i have a hundred different
09:14ideas in my head you know i need to decide on the right one the right vibe because i want to make
09:19rachel feel like a boss ass bitch tell me more about your eczema eczema is an immune system disorder
09:25it can be internally and external like it has to do with what you're eating yeah it can also be
09:30environmental triggers the clothes you're wearing the fabrics can you tell me your favorite colors um
09:36i love wearing nudes nudes any prints do you like prints no i just can't do prints
09:42prints what are you talking about girlfriend no prints at all no plaid no polka dot no stripe any
09:49sequence no honestly i usually try to keep it simple you have no sparkly in your life no got it
09:55yeah friends no pastels no sequence nice okay yeah i'm feeling lots of apprehension and anxiety
10:05i have to deliver for the challenge but at the same time i have to make my client happy because that's a
10:11part of the challenge so what can the reveal be if she doesn't like anything sparkly or bright so

10:25oh my god i'm so excited listen i've been in the top but i haven't won yet everybody here has won a
10:31challenge i haven't won i've been this close i'm like this is my challenge put in the universe
10:37yes i'm used to working with real clients it's definitely an advantage i need to learn about
10:46stephanie her personality her sister's style how her skin condition affects her fashion choices
10:52where do you usually get like your breakouts so i usually get them like on my wrist um
10:58like in between right here i'm thinking about like something beaded with a pattern and like structure
11:05with the nice soft lining yeah i think for me it's just like as long as like you said the lining is
11:11nice soft yeah i'm single right now and i'm going on dates i'm thinking we should do an expensive fabric
11:18because you you're expensive and you want an ex a boyfriend that can afford you amen to that
11:25i'm designing the cocktail beaded dress with the princess line flare coat with sleeves with
11:31a cape i totally trust you i love your vibe so jaden can you tell me more about your skin condition
11:38it flares up a lot when like i'm like hot or like sweaty like my face sometimes flares up i don't want
11:45that skin reaction or skin condition to affect your confidence because we're gonna make this work
11:52so what's your personal style like courtesos like this i wear all the time okay if you are going
11:58on a night out where do you usually go you know we like to dance a lot you know look for girls
12:05what's the color that you like to wear blue black or green okay perfect jaden is a really cool guy
12:11and confidence is a very important power that someone should have an eczema sometimes takes away
12:19confidence from you so i am designing pants and a jacket with zipper details and also a quarter zip
12:27sweater i trust you yes we're gonna win we're gonna win this
12:36all right make sure you pick the right fabrication to make them feel comfortable confident sexy
12:42and a special reveal okay go my girl is getting laid in this dress i know i can nail this challenge
12:51and win but fabric choice is very tricky here i want it to look expensive but i want it to feel
12:57really good on my girl stephanie's skin that green's pretty i have expensive taste right hmm i need like a
13:06sweater ish material i choose a soft wool for the sweater because it's a natural fabric and denim
13:14because it's 100 cotton so i know that it will not irritate jaden's skin does he like a beaded tweed
13:22coat he's going to oh it's like a little effeminate for me because jared's style is very simple i want
13:31to push him and make him look more fashionable and modern i find this really amazing tweed that has a
13:37little bit of sequin and it has like really amazing texture and i love the color i want to make jared
13:43happy but this is also a design competition and it's the final five i have to make sure that i inject my
13:49dna into this design where is the double-faced wool like please okay i specifically am looking for a
13:58double-faced brushed wool because usually wool fabric fibers are poking your skin and making you
14:04itch but when it's brushed they're going horizontally against your skin and it's softer i'm not mad at
14:09this can you pull this out a little bit so i can see it more jewel does not like prints but i find a
14:17nice plaid print choosing this fabric meets both of our needs she could wear it on the plaid or she could
14:22wear it on the solid 20 minutes the reveal part is really important so i'm thinking the crystal
14:31the beauty within there is a way you have to use it to make sure that doesn't irritate the skin so i'm
14:35considering that it's a risk but it's just so beautiful here we go we're back hey sus you're not
14:46gonna beat me this time are you sure about that i mean you thought that last week and i beat you so
14:54i cannot believe i haven't won yet jesus went to fashion college but i'm still fat he's always
15:00been on top he hasn't been in the bottom but i have to stay positive head up because i'm here

15:31hello christian hi guys are we nervous yes yes hmm belania when you talk to jewel did she say she
15:41like shine or plaid no no and you got her silver lame yeah that's a reveal fabric yeah i feel like
15:50it's very important for my reveal to have a wow moment so my look is a reveal in a reveal it's a
15:57trench coat that opens up into a top that turns into a dress i am not effing around about the reveal
16:06i really want to prove to you that this tweet could go really like modern and grunge and cool i do have
16:11a little bit of inside knowledge of how certain fabrics can trigger flare-ups but i'm not too
16:15concerned because i'm planning on lining my coat with silk so i know that that's gonna feel really
16:21good against jared's skin i will say like my mom does have a coat just like this like the whole reveal
16:28is gonna be when he takes the coat off i have this beautiful color beaded color beaded color and then he
16:34then he has this beautiful low v my job i feel with this challenge is to like make him feel
16:41comfortable make him feel comfortable okay you know and something cool and edgy thank you
16:46antonio i want to do three reveals i like that you're whispering you don't want anybody to know
16:52i'm trying to be quiet because you know people there's top five that tries to my ideas
16:55so i'm doing a cape over this so she can take her hands out and the cape drops and then she has
17:03this dress and then takes that and then takes this off mid front way and then she has to beat it you
17:07should do it but you have to really do it and this has to be fabulous too yes of course oh lord
17:13you have so much to do i do have a lot of work to do oh my god my whole goal for this week is to win
17:20i'm coming from being on the top twice it's so close the reveal is a green sweater i saw this
17:32fabric and i'm like oh lord my uncle's christmas sweater that he wore for 30 years i think that
17:38sweater is giving me nightmares i know well i need to make it a little more interesting because it's the
17:43reveal i can give them a crazy reveal hundred percent but my client is not outrageous my client is a
17:51young straight dude as long as my client likes it then i'm all good what are you doing i'm gonna do
18:00this little boucier top with all these crystals we're gonna do this mesh beaded all on her skin
18:07uh and you picked hospital white this feels super mod and like not this this makes me really nervous
18:16it's like white cape with this bra i don't know i'm like why can't it reveal into a white mini dress
18:27yeah i'd have to do a hard pivot it's tough with the amount of time i know
18:33i'm annoyed changing it now is going to be so difficult yeah it's overwhelming yeah i'm running
18:41out of time it's the final five and i cannot trip up now what are you thinking i think i have to do a
18:52hard pivot he doesn't like the two together at all he thinks the white's too sterile i got all the
18:58supplies to do the rorschach take the black and incorporate it on you know what i mean i could paint
19:02the shit out of this follow your intuition and don't waste time i am pivoting to art and doing
19:10a rorschach design where it takes the beauty of the patterns of eczema on the skin and turning it
19:18into an inkblot hello hello you're like my boyfriend how do you feel in this
19:33yeah i don't know about the silver and i probably wouldn't pair the dress with shorts so
19:42but i believe in her i want you to love it babe i am nervous about jewel not being on board with the
19:48silver fabric so i'm highly concerned about myself this is your coat wow do you love it
19:57uh i uh um i don't uh it's not the colors i thought it was going to be it's not like anything else i have
20:08in my closet i can say that it's a bit effeminate we might need to like take it up a little bit on the
20:13yeah yeah i'm also curious like what it would look like as like a mid-dive i think that looks
20:18fun there i'm getting annoyed because he's fighting me on a couple things that i have to do on the
20:22design but i know that it's going to look great at the end jesus obviously you're not listening to
20:28what your client wants but i am not surprised i just don't think someone young and cool wants to wear
20:35this jacket right now like i would never buy that jacket or wear it all right and i'm young and cool
20:40you're not as cool as me i would wear it oh christian why don't you tell vj what you think
20:47about that ugly sweater underneath oh my god no i know that jaden will not be happy to wear
20:55a sleeveless letter that would show off his arms and even though personally i don't think it's that cool
21:02that's what my client wants if the client wants something simple give them something simple
21:08it's a christmas sweater what did he say he said it's a christmas sweater what did i say
21:14i said this is a christmas sweater that my uncle had wait there's gonna be a zipper in the
21:18i don't care i really like the design she managed to make it look just as good as i imagined
21:23she's still sticking true to what i want oh yeah i'm gonna look swagged out rachel how are you feeling
21:28i'm into the pattern this uh-huh the print this is the lining the lining of what the coat what
21:35that's the reveal no yeah this is a graduation gown in white i decided to scrap this beautiful crystal
21:45fabric and now i'm really struggling it's really hard for me to keep bending to other people's whims
21:53it's a delicate balance of adapting my drag sensibilities while appeasing myself but also
22:00my client you think i'm being tough law will go crazy no i'm not letting this happen okay we're not
22:08gonna let it happen whatever changes this man is suggesting that's what we need to do because i will
22:13not get tore up under these bright lights you love the fabrics how they feel originally she wanted sleeves
22:19but if we can show the tatas she's gonna do strapless yeah you got a wild one to work with wild in a
22:26good way christian antonio has this in the bag he's so talented and amazing and i know it's gonna come
22:32out beautiful we got a medical plan for my eczema so i'm ready to show off my skin and get myself a husband

23:13i have to commit to this asymmetrical blouse because i have no more time but it's not working
23:19i hate it i know i have to figure it out because the clock is ticking and i'm getting more and more

23:44so the pressure is on oh i love the sweater bj thank you reminds me of my grandpa jesus shirt is

24:12runway like and you kind of slowly open it and then you reveal because it's a part of the challenge
24:18that's perfect what uh no i mean it's a little like not as like masculine as i envisioned girl
24:29dude what do you want to change the collar is too extra for me
24:32like what if we like didn't have this part in the bottom and it wasn't like totally bedazzled
24:36all the way through there's not much time and jared has a lot of notes but it is a real client's
24:41challenge so i have to make sure he likes the look if not my ass is going home hi
24:48slick do your magic make her feel like a million bucks glam you're not gonna unzip the thing i'm
24:56getting nervous vj's look it's a beautifully constructed garment but no reveal you didn't do the
25:04challenge there she is hello designers the final five crazy as you know in fashion one day you're in
25:20and the next day you're out for this challenge you were asked to design a look for men and women who
25:26struggle with eczema not only should the outfit be comfortable and fashionable for a night out
25:31it needed to produce a jaw dropping reveal on the runway so let's meet the judges cfda award-winning
25:39stylist and image architect la roach one of my favorite designers out there harris reed
25:50harris reed oh my gosh gag everybody knows him for the iconic look he did for denny moore for the
25:55mcgala so i'm really excited for him to be our guest judge and comedian and my twin nikki glazer
26:03oh my gosh thank you vicky glazer is hot right now she's killing in the comedy world i'm like oh my
26:10god is she gonna roast us on stage let's stop the show
26:21wow stephanie feels confident she's killing it i am so happy i feel like she feels good in that yeah
26:28she loves it i got something for you everybody look at us now oh la la i'm so proud of my client
26:40i love her so much i know she wants to win as much as i do the great little jazz her man is at the end
26:47of the runway take me out with you baby and i think this is my time to win can i pick that up
26:58boom boom seeing jayden walk on that runway i feel so accomplished there's a balance of simplicity
27:06and intricacy and he looks expensive i love the jacket was really well made
27:11that was quite a reveal if you want the drama with that jacket off you know he looks so amazing that
27:25it's like oh i don't need that reveal because he actually looks like a celebrity walking in that
27:30runway where was the reveal isn't that the point of the challenge look at us now you got me hypnotized
27:44joel seems to be walking very fiercely the jacket looks absolutely amazing on her
27:49hold up wait a minute now with that being said this look is a product of me trying to appease my
28:00client it's not feeling good it's not looking good is it a dress it's two pieces got me in the tide it
28:08would be a total pity if i went home off of this challenge because this look does not reflect who i am as
28:15a designer i'm loving this beautiful cover-up and then pow it opens up into this beautiful ink blot
28:32motif making my own print was a really strong choice but i'm so glad i did that
28:37i think jared is feeling very confident on the runway he's feeling himself he's feeling the look he
29:00feels fashionable i think the reveal went really well i see the appliques look really shiny on the
29:07runway i'm happy this is a little messy though that show it's giving magician however the judges they
29:16look confused now i'm starting to feel nervous maybe i should have listened to jared more i could be in
29:23trouble that was fun designers i'm so excited to see how your clients feel about the things that you
29:35created for them which is the most important thing that is the truth okay we're gonna start with you
29:42ethan are you happy i love it i really do i think what i wanted most of all was something that was so
29:49striking that like my skin was not in the conversation and so like i'm extremely happy
29:54la what did you think about this look i think that you could have done a better job with the placement
30:00of her breast you know my thing i wish you would have snatched that waist in a little bit more
30:04but i loved it her reveal was an actual reveal because i thought i was like oh she's so demure you
30:10know and then she came out i was like oh she's a whore which i love thank you you know you are
30:18confident my only thing is i kind of wish the pattern was on the outside of the cape as well
30:23i think it would have really kind of brought the whole thing home i love the design i love that it's
30:27an inkblot the rorschach like what i'm getting from it is that my mom is apologizing to me finally you
30:34know but i would have preferred the print on the outside too for me this code is beyond bad i did not
30:42like this at all to me it looked like a lab coat when she had this on so i feel like it needed to be
30:48a little bit longer there's still a taste level that has to be there and i feel like it's not
30:52there i'm glad that you love it but me looking at it i did not love it thank you ethan and thank
31:00you rachel thank you okay antonio and stephanie this coat for me feels very and couture yes very
31:09much couture so that was absolutely great and then she peels and she comes into this really beautiful
31:14party dress and she seems really sexy and i'm actually getting attracted to your cleavage
31:19and i was too and i'm extremely gay but snap out of it
31:26the biggest compliment this is probably one of your best looks of this whole entire competition
31:33thank you i really love the beating on this how it like it kind of changes on the back
31:38oh yeah the back it's not as concentrated on the back and i think that's unexpected and i really
31:42liked it you look sophisticated sexy the guys are gonna line up you said you're single and you're
31:48looking and you're ready to mingle this is gonna get the job done thank you antonio thank you okay
31:56vj and jaden you were like a super model on the runway today i really liked the design
32:02vj did a great job she figured out a way for me to still have swag i felt like you were really
32:08liking yourself in this when you came down you were like yes this is me and i love how i look
32:14as a designer you gave him what he needed you clearly have such incredible skill and craftsmanship
32:20i think that this is a really well executed piece and leather is such a difficult thing to sew
32:24that jacket is tailored to perfection and then you know to have the panels of the leather
32:29in the pan makes everything more elevated it looks expensive i just had cool written down a bunch
32:36you just looked so cool but where was the reveal that is what the problem was this was
32:43the reveal yeah but that's not a reveal that's just it's not taking the jacket off okay let's talk
32:50to bolania and jewel next if an outfit could be a mullet this would be it it is
32:56this business on the top and party underneath it's literally like one of those bad girls that
33:03wrapped up and she got the pointy toe shoes with the ankle straps like bye mom i'm going to bible
33:08study and she's really going to swing on the pole this really confused the out of me
33:15how do you feel about it though it's definitely a piece that's different from everything else in my
33:19closet but you would you spend your money on it be honest that's okay i probably wouldn't buy this

37:40that has a curvier figure take care of the bosom take care of the waist it looked like a duvet that
37:46was like inside out the more i sat with it the more i was like she did what a dream client would do
37:52which is sold the piece to me but the execution wasn't there yeah ethan's client was the only
37:57one who liked it no matter what wow that was a curveball i'm pissed i should have been in the top
38:09i checked off everything on the list my look is going out my look has a sentiment towards eczema
38:14and i have a reveal hello and what do we think about balania i mean her client did not want to buy it
38:23the only thing i can say about her reveal is that i just wish there wasn't a reveal at all
38:30it looked like student work the eye was not there i think the look didn't click you had a gorgeous girl
38:36and she just looked frumpy we're all artists so i relate to this where you just are like you're
38:41trying a bunch of different things but it just was but not when you're the top five no season 21 of
38:47project runway you're that's a really good point yeah i'm not surprised about being in the bottom
38:52this look is not my dna and it would be devastating if it sent me home let's talk about jesus i don't
39:01think jared was so happy with jesus either he looked uncomfortable i think it's okay for a man to say i'd

40:03best and the bottom line is my client is happy they were waiting for a reveal there was no reveal
