00:00Hello and welcome to this Western Australian Jane's weather update for Friday.
00:05We have fairly clear skies out there today. There is no wet weather at all.
00:08The next weather system is all the way back here off the coast, but that is coming to get us on the weekend.
00:14So let's have a look at day by day. As we move through Friday, high pressure all the way over here.
00:19We've got the next weather system not moving through yet. That is Friday.
00:23Saturday, here it is. The cold front from that is running down in through here,
00:27but the cold area behind it is still well off the coast.
00:30So the sharpness of the cold air on Saturday isn't going to be very extreme.
00:34Head into Sunday, though, the next weather system comes up.
00:37It's here by the end of the day and there is a sting in the tail of this one.
00:42So down to 1,500, 1,200 metres. So that's a measure of how cold the air will be in behind this.
00:48It hits the southwest corner and there is a little bit of a feed coming down in from the north.
00:52So that's Sunday. Let's now have a look at Monday.
00:54Next high pressure system back over to our west by the end of Monday.
00:58So, yes, we can still get some wet weather coming through,
01:00but the main instability has moved out to the east.
01:02So we just have the leftovers really that's coming in.
01:05That's on Monday. Let's now have a look at Tuesday.
01:08High pressure, big belt of it down in through here.
01:11So our winds are fairly light, but there's no big warm up ahead of the next weather system
01:15because it's not like the high is sitting properly over here and we get northerly winds.
01:19It's a belt of it. It's a ridge of it that's coming through.
01:21So that's Tuesday. Let's now have a look at Wednesday.
01:25That's when the next weather system is.
01:26It's here by the end of the day, so it's moving all through these parts.
01:29It doesn't have a sharp cold air in behind it.
01:32That sticks down to the south.
01:33So that's Wednesday.
01:34Then into Thursday, high pressure is back in through here.
01:37So we get the remains of that as we move through the day on Thursday.
01:41And then into Friday, high pressure is still back in through here.
01:44We've got a ridge of it coming across, but hardly any wet weather is left.
01:48All right. What's that going to add up to?
01:49Just a little bit of feed coming in through here.
01:52It's nothing serious in the north.
01:54In the southwest corner, 25 to 50 millimetres, all across these areas from Perth,
01:58right around to through here.
02:00And we're likely to see that come through in two big bursts.
02:04So on the weekend, a one-two punch and then the middle of next week.
02:08So let's have a look at Perth.
02:09What to expect for about 24 during the day today?
02:12Just a little bit of cloud out there.
02:14It is mostly sunny for the majority of the time.
02:16Our winds are northerly.
02:17Tomorrow is when that wet weather hits 22 as the top, 11 millimetres.
02:22Top on Sunday is 18 and 10 millimetres.
02:25So our winds are turning as the weekend goes on.
02:28They're also strengthening.
02:29We've got gusty winds as we move through later Saturday and all through Sunday as well.
02:34So we'll feel it in terms of the winds and the wet weather.
02:37By the time we get to Monday, we're 15.
02:39That's when the colder air is really felt.
02:41Two millimetres into the gauge, then 0.3 as we go through Tuesday.
02:44So 15 and then 18.
02:46There's no major warm-up in between because the high didn't move out to the east.
02:49So we're 18 as that rain arrives and develops during the day on Wednesday.
02:54Then 16 in behind that and then 19 to finish the week.
02:57So the two big bursts of wet weather across the weekend and then the middle of next week.
