00:11bipartisan way I just met with House and Senate Democratic leadership to talk
00:16about appropriations House and Senate Democrats are in total agreement what
00:22the Republicans are proposing is not good enough for the American people and
00:27not good enough to get our votes the American people are hurting with high
00:31costs particularly health care and leader Thune and Speaker Johnson have an
00:37obligation to sit down with us the Democratic leaders in bipartisan
00:44negotiations if they want our votes the American people are hurting health care
00:50is being decimated on all fronts people are losing jobs people seeing costs go
00:55through the roof people are losing health care people are going to die because
01:00of these cuts so Democrats positions is clear and we are united Republicans have
01:06to come to meet us with a true bipartisan negotiation to satisfy the American
01:12people's needs on health care and lower people's costs without that they won't
01:17get our votes plain and simple on inflation this morning the Department of Labor
01:23reported inflation in August accelerated 2.9 percent from a year earlier that's
01:29the highest year-to-year number so far this year inflation is getting worse so
01:36much for Donald Trump's promise to lower costs on day one we're well past the
01:41point where you can't make it through the day without seeing more evidence that
01:45Trump's tariffs are hurting our economy Donald Trump a billionaire can post on
01:51social media there's no inflation to his heart's delight but Americans know he's
01:56lying every time they pay more for coffee and beef and rent and it's all
02:01self-inflicted because of these tariffs soon Democrats
02:05Senate Democrats will force action on legislation stopping these destructive
02:09tariffs because we need to protect people back home I urge our Republican
02:14colleagues to join us when that time comes yield the floor note the absence of a car
