00:00Is this a bird? You've got to be kidding me. I'm about to bring my cats out here and give it the
00:05scare of a lifetime. Rawr! Rawr! Hey, this is Julia Fox, and this is my Us Weekly cover story.
00:16Um, I would say probably people's misconceptions about me are that, like, I'm, like, superficial
00:23and that I'm, like, really crazy. But I would say that I'm actually, like, really down to earth.
00:29And not as, like, crazy or, like, or that, like, I do drugs or that, like, I party a lot or, like,
00:37you know, just, like, sometimes I see stuff and I'm just, like, wow. Like, if only you knew. Like,
00:44I wish I was that exciting and interesting. And, like, it's just not giving that at all. Like,
00:49I'm very much, like, a mom, you know? And that's my life revolves around my child and doing, like,
00:58child-centered activities. I'm, like, you know, like, that's absolutely, like, that's paramount.
01:05That comes first. So, you know, I'm not this, like, raging party girl that I think people think I am.
01:12Sorry. To me, I've just been me this entire time. And then what's happening out there,
01:18like, that's other people's business. So, like, I just always feel like I'm just still me.
01:25And, you know, and sometimes I have to, like, give myself pep talks. Like, you're a star. Like,
01:33you know, just so I can, like, own it or, like, exist in that. Because I just live in my own little
01:40world. You know, I live in a bubble. Like, it feels like, you know, like, I'm just been friends
01:45with the same people since I've been 11 years old. And, you know, I have a child and I have my
01:51family. And I'm just not really too concerned with, like, what, how people feel about me or,
01:58you know, if I'm an icon or not. Like, and I think that's probably why I'm able to show up and
02:03seem so comfortable in any space I go to. It's, I think, because I do have, like, my happy,
02:10my safe space and my, my home and my chosen family. And I'm very, I feel very protected in
02:18that. So, like, anything that happens on the outside, it's just like, whatever, I'm fine.
02:22You know, I'm actually doing amazing. And I'm living, like, this is my dream life. Like,
02:29having a home that I bought with my best friend from, you know, childhood. And we have a child in the
02:36house and animals and it's messy, but it's home and it's warm and it's, like, colorful and there's
02:43art everywhere. And, like, like that music playing and it always smells like food because someone's
02:50always cooking. Like, that's the dream that I always dreamt. It wasn't so much being famous or
02:57being a star. Like, that, that just happened. Yeah. But this is what I actively worked toward,
03:05if that makes sense. No, it was always such a pipe dream. Like, it was, like, in the wildest dreams
03:13conversations, you know, where you're saying it out loud, but you, like, kind of know it's not going
03:20to happen, but maybe it will. And, and we made it happen. And, and the rest is all just like a
03:27byproduct, you know, this was, this was, and always has been the dream was to have, like, a home that
03:34has, like, food in it all the time. And you're not, like, starving and having to, like, rob your
03:39neighbors for food or, like, you know, just, like, a happy home where no one's ever angry or yelling,
03:45you know, and it's just, like, that's the best, you know, and it's so different from what I knew.
03:52So, you know, to be able to create this life for myself, like, that's really when I'm like, wow,
03:59I did it, you know, like, the, the, obviously the movies and all the amazing things I do is also,
04:06like, wow, but it doesn't, like, hit in the same way as, like, the little things, the day-to-day things
04:13that I think are where real happiness lives, you know, I think you have to have those things in
04:20order first. And we see it so many times with, like, celebrities and our stars that, like, you
04:26know, they have all these amazing things, but then they're, like, on drugs and, or something, and it's
04:32like, oh, like, they don't have that home, you know what I mean? Or, like, there's something
04:36missing because I, and it's, like, I always say it and I always, I'm like, oh, this sounds so
04:41freaking corny and I know people are, like, probably rolling their eyes, but, like, you
04:45know, like, like, love is important. Friendship is important. Family is important, you know,
04:51like, all, like, to me, that's really, like, what is important. Not so much, like, money comes and
04:58goes and opportunities come and go and you could be an It Girl this season and next season you're
05:03nobody and you'll be invited to this show, but the next season it's not happening anymore.
05:08Like, it's always going to be like that. So you have to make sure that there are things
05:13that do stay forever. And, and those things, you know, they, they're, they can make or break
05:20you.
