George Bennett on whether Daniel Kanu could become Walsall's next Nathan Lowe

00:00Has Daniel Carnu got the attributes to maybe not replicate as much as Lowe did in that half a season,

00:07but, you know, certainly score a good chunk of those goals?

00:13Well, I mean, if his finish on Saturday is anything to go by, then clearly he's got an eye for goal.

00:19And I liked what you said, you know, in the quotes that you would have just heard there

00:23when I asked him kind of about Nathan Lowe and Freddie Draper and even Mo Fowle to an extent.

00:29And sort of Walsall's success rate when it comes to lone strikers and how much that played into his thinking.

00:36And, you know, he did say that when he was looking to come to the club and looking at his options,

00:41you know, something that massively kind of he factored in when weighing up his options.

00:47But now he's here, you know, he's very much focused on himself.

00:51He's not focusing on what Nathan Lowe did or what Freddie Draper did.

00:56And I think that's a great mentality to have.

00:58And there's just something about Walsall players, really, where, you know,

01:02we talk a lot about Matt Sabler's emphasis on bringing good characters into the building.

01:07And I'm sure Tom will agree that, you know, from the interview we had with him,

01:10it's the first time I spoke to him, that I think he came across really well.

01:15You know, his motivations are clearly for the team.

01:18But as a lone player, he's also, you know, looking to make a name for himself,

01:23just like the two or three names I mentioned there.

01:26But, yeah, I think he's been very promising, you know, came on against Salford,

01:29had two really good opportunities.

01:31And he sort of spoke about that, not letting those missed chances weigh on his mind,

01:35because the next one will come along.

01:37And I think, again, I remember Mo Fowle talking about having to have a mind like a goldfish.

01:44And he seemed to like that quote when I brought that up as well.

01:46So, yeah, you know, really impressed by sort of the impression we got from him the other day.

01:50And his performance was equally impressive as well.
