Von der Leyen "Non credo nei dazi, ma accordo con Usa dà stabilità"

STRASBURGO (FRANCIA) (ITALPRESS) - "Io non credo nei dazi. I dazi non sono altro che tasse. Ma l'accordo garantisce una stabilità cruciale nelle nostre relazioni con gli Stati Uniti in un periodo di grave insicurezza globale". Lo ha detto la presidente della Commissione Europea, Ursula Von der Leyen, davanti alla plenaria dell'Europarlamento a Strasburgo, nel discorso sullo stato dell'unione.  "L'80% dei nostri scambi commerciali avviene con paesi diversi dagli Stati Uniti. Dobbiamo quindi sfruttare nuove opportunità. In un momento in cui il sistema commerciale globale si sta sgretolando, noi garantiamo norme globali stipulando accordi bilaterali, come quelli con il Messico o il Mercosur. 00:42None of this is a great surprise, but it reflects the changing landscape

00:47and it creates two imperatives for Europe's independence push and its place in the world.

00:55The first is that we need to double down on diversification and on partnerships.

01:0180% of our trade is with countries other than the United States.

01:06So we need to capitalize now on these new opportunities.

01:10And at a time where the global trading system is crumbling,

01:19we are securing the global rules through bilateral agreements,

01:24like Mexico, like Mercosur,

01:28or finalizing negotiations on a historic deal with India by the end of the year.

01:33We will also build a coalition of like-minded countries

01:37to reform the global trading system,

01:40like with the CPTPP countries,

01:43because trade allows us to strengthen our supply chains,

01:47open our markets, reduce dependencies.
