00:03:14Here are two singers slash musicians who have been performing together since they were little kids.

00:03:58I sold fireworks, I drove Uber, I worked at an accounting office.

00:04:02And I sold soccer socks online.

00:04:06For so long, we were playing in front of rooms with three or four people,

00:04:09and we needed to find a way to get our music in front of as many people as possible.

00:04:13So we started posting on social media.

00:04:16People think that because we have so many followers that we're just these two guys that are loaded.

00:04:19We're doing this for so long with little to no money.

00:04:22All the views in the world don't equate to people in front of you singing your music back to you.

00:04:28The reason we did AGT was to put our music at the forefront.

00:04:32If this song really is good, it's going to react within minutes of this audition going out.

00:04:38And it did.

00:04:38All of a sudden, it just took off because of AGT.

00:04:43But now, the fact that we're performing live is different.

00:04:47It's so much more pressure.

00:04:49It's one shot and this is it.

00:04:51We're on AGT to prove that we are so much more than just views on social media.

00:04:55We want to be one of the biggest acts of all time.

00:11:15I'll never forget the first time I saw magic

00:11:17I was eight years old at my grandma's house and David Blaine came on

00:11:22Everybody was just in awe

00:11:24I told myself, that's what I want to do for the rest of my life

00:11:32We have had three magicians win America's got talent

00:11:37And you took that bar and you went above it

00:29:40on agt we see a lot of big acts with lights dancers singers the whole nine yards but this next duo

00:29:57is just a 23 year old guy his mom a guitar and a cello and it's so powerful here's cole swenson and judy

00:30:06i've been a professional cellist for about 20 years and as the kids were getting older it became really difficult

00:30:15and then uh then i changed careers became a nurse but i did i did miss the music

00:30:23that's what's going to do

00:30:30i strummed the last note and looked up i looked over it and she was just like

00:30:38with your mom it was a great audition

00:30:41and it actually made you very cool to do that because you're not following the herd and that

00:30:48makes you stand out i thought oh that's right that's right cole because he's been trying he's

00:30:53been doing that i remember very distinctly in 10th grade he found music and he just started writing

00:30:58songs and it was just like that's what he's got to do so that brought him to la on his own

00:31:03and trying to like get into this industry i built these panels with insulation and proofed

00:31:09my closet so she thinks it's so funny at first i didn't think i should do the live shows with cole

00:31:15but then he convinced me to go on a little more nerve-wracking a little more nerve-wracking

00:31:23if i'm going to have this amazing opportunity of course like i want her to be part of it

00:31:27she changed her whole career she had three kids and stepped away you know she adds so much beauty to

00:31:34everything i do with her cello i think we have something really special to share

00:31:48i want you to stay

00:31:56till i'm in the grave

00:32:08till i'm in the casket you carry if you go i'm going too

00:50:46At the auditions this year, Simon said yes, yes, yes, nine times, but even better than

00:50:53that, I said, you are my golden buzzer. From Inkster, Michigan, here's the Funkateer Dancing.

00:51:04We've been together 45 years. As teenagers, we were best friends, and we loved to dance.

00:51:09Back then, we were performing all over the place, skating rinks, amphitheaters, basketball games.

00:51:16The dream was to perform all around the world. We danced about nine years before life just got

00:51:22a hold of us. We got serious about wanting to start families and get married. Normal lives, jobs.

00:51:28We never used the word, we quit. We just took a hiatus, a 37-year hiatus, as a matter of fact.

00:51:38It was a dream.

00:51:40This is a moment.

00:51:41I don't even feel like I'm old no more. I really don't.

00:51:46When our audition aired, the response was overwhelming.

00:51:49You guys started dancing together in high school.

00:51:53We were on the Today Show.

01:17:12All right, here's the lowdown on the Birmingham Youth Fellowship Choir.

01:17:18I started the Birmingham Youth Fellowship Choir at the historic 16th Street Baptist Church.

01:17:22The whole idea was providing a place for youth so they could feel safe.

01:17:26The choir was kind of like a refuge, somewhere to go to where we didn't have nowhere else to go.

01:17:31Ten years later, we're still here.

01:17:32If anything, it has blossomed into something even more.

01:17:35When we started singing, everybody stood up.

01:17:39I'm like, oh, my God, we actually do it good.

01:17:41We actually did that. That was Lindsay.

01:17:46We just wanted to go to the pastor.

01:17:48We all took some of that confetti home.

01:17:50I didn't get to pick any, because I was too busy crying, you know.
