00:00Hello everyone, welcome to MDCubes, welcome to everyone's box, welcome to Welding the Cyclone, depending on where you're watching the content, welcome to all the subscribers, so thank you very much for the likes, I really truly appreciate you and so does the channel, okay what we're doing today, this is called Red Band Alley RBA and it's called the Free Studied Bar, so that's what this is called, later on we'll have a different type of bar
00:30it's going to be called the Shamrock Bar, so I think it's okay, so anyway let's, I'll show you the content and I'll show you what the idea, but my idea is, as you said down on the floor here, is a very simple blender box, I just squashed it and squashed it, I'm collecting my templates, nice, easy, simple and plain, now these are RGB colours, if you put a texture on that, it looks a hundred times better, but because my
00:59my game is mostly RGB, I'm going to have it like this, because I'll be adding the paint and scratches and all that, later on, I'll be doing it different, if you're watching the content you know that, so I'm trying to keep my game running to the best of its ability, and as fast as possible, so that's what I'm trying to do, so I'm thinking okay, all of my world is 3D, and you can take away each and every single part of the model, you can bring back just a plank,
01:27just, just the bar itself, this is like the, this is the front of the part of the bar, and you can bring back just only the studs, just in case you want to click on them, come over here, and you can paint them, whatever colour you want, so as I say, to change the colours of any object, just click the object, you can open it and open it and click the material, you don't need to do that, just click that, and then if you want to, you can click that, but you don't have to, you can click that, you can go here, click the material,
01:57pick whatever colour the rainbow you want, make it light, make it dark, it's up to you, and then just basically, that's it, as soon as you do that, go into lie view, so better lie view, and then when you change the colour, you can actually see what colour it is, so whatever colour you change it to, when you save it out, when you save it out, bring it back in, that's the colour it's going to be, I mean okay, so what's the whole point of this, so we can click on the floor panel, we can hide that, pretend it's not there, we know it's there, okay, now all of
02:27this will be one piece, it's going to be separate, but it's going to be one single piece, if you don't understand what I mean, so even though it's all separate, like this, I will give you, when I give you the model, it's all going to be like, just basically one object, but all of these are going to be inside that, so, now you'll click on those, put them inside there, you'll click on those, hold control, right off the keyboard, left click that, you'll go here, and the parent,
02:57the objects, yeah, I'll be doing it after, so, so when you move the bar, you move the whole entire lot, so basically it's going to work like this, so you click the one object, and you can move the whole thing, like this, but of course, it's a bar, so you're not going to really move the bar, unless of course, yeah, unless something's
03:19really going on, at the building, and yeah, and the things might get broken, and damaged, and so forth, so, anyway, that's the whole point of having everything separate,
03:30so if something else happens there, we can kind of separate the pieces, these parts on the back of here, these are pieces of wood, that you can't see behind the back of the bar,
03:41and a horn back of here, obviously, the bartender can see them, if she kind of looks underneath the counter, well, anyway, you'll understand what I'm explaining in the moment,
03:54you select those, you copy it, don't forget, you're already copying one of them, go here, so when it's all done, you'll say, when I do it, you're not going to go here,
04:03paste it, so the idea is to copy and paste the actual thing, so what you do, you turn it around, and nice, easy, simple, you turn on snapping, zoom in,
04:15now, I'm going to say, zoom in, so you can see that it almost either looks worse, and what, if you snap it, snap it out, snap it, snap right on the edge of that,
04:24so then what you do is copy it, make a new file, paste it, I'm only doing this temporarily, so I can show you, okay, so you'll snap the,
04:33paste it to the end of your bar, and then, of course, what you do is, you go back off it, you look at your bar, and you slowly build up the profile of the bar,
04:45so if it's a big, nice, round circle bar, great, use those, use that, of course, stitch in the back of it, start thinking, okay, how are we going to do this,
04:55now, don't forget, once you've got it the way you want it, all of this, you glue together, so it's one piece,
05:01so I'll show you, okay, you click these, and then what you do is, you make them, now, if I do this,
05:09I can only do it if I want to, but, as I said, it's entirely up to me, it's entirely my own personal preference,
05:15so, if I'm going to glue all that together, which, that's what I want to do, I'm thinking, okay, go here,
05:22join, now, before you join it, just check in, make sure everything is where it's supposed to be,
05:28so, just zoom in, look at anything, yeah, that's almost, let me, let me just check those,
05:36select this one, as I said, I like to check the geometry before welding, not welding,
05:42before making one object, go here, set origin to geometry, zoom in, now, you see, it's not quite on the end of that,
05:48yeah, that's why I'll tell you, when you use the MMB cubes, zoom in to the little squares,
05:54and then when you snap it, it will snap perfectly,
06:00to the edge, as I said, you don't want to make a gap in it, because, yeah, yeah, you just don't want that,
06:07because it's not going to look too great, let's go here, set origin to geometry,
06:14as I said, when I, when I do this, as I said, I zoom in to the little squares, and then I snap it,
06:19as I said, I'm just doing a video, so, really, I don't need to be, kind of, too fussy with it,
06:26and not only that, when I actually make the bar, I'll be making my whole bar available, so, it looks like that,
06:33I'll say, depending on how you have the light texture, it depends on the color, but, I'll say,
06:38it's up to you, how you want to do it, so, you can click on, I'll say, click on the wood,
06:43you can have the bar, whatever color you want, so, you can go here, make sure to remind you,
06:47if you're going to change the color, here, I'll say, the color of the bar is that color,
06:52the color of the bar is actually not that color, but, go here, let's make it a nice blend,
06:57um, dark red, okay, no, I don't want that, and let's, let's, let's change it to blend the black,
07:05kind of blend the black, so, I think, okay, don't want it all blend black, okay, so, you click on this one,
07:10and then you click this one, press this one, and then you change that to blend black,
07:14then you press this one, press this one, press this one, and then you change that to blend the black,
07:19I think, okay, so, this is how it looks at the moment, so, obviously, it's the wrong color for the bar, in the first place,
07:24it's not the wrong color, there's no right or wrong way of painting it, well, it's intolerant,
07:34okay, select all that, go here, and then you go join, now, you see, you've got one piece,
07:39now that we've done that, we can click on the studs, you hold the upper key, press all the studs,
07:46now, that's not studs, so, I think, okay, press the studs, hold control, once on the keyboard,
07:51press that, and press that, so, it adjusts the studs, the studs ain't painted anyway, I'm thinking,
07:58perfect, go here, and join them, okay, so, click the studs, go on here, put the shield on it,
08:05press the studs, press this, and the studs are going to be blender black, so, click off it,
08:11the studs now, blend or not, they're going to blend the gray, blend the black, it looks great,
08:16so, it looks like blender gray, okay, now, the wood itself has already got like a brown texture,
08:21kind of look, look on it, so, I want to copy this, just in case it loses the color,
08:31I'm doing different colors, just so you can see, that it's actually all separate,
08:34um, I've followed those for coughing, um, as you know, yeah, anyway, yeah,
08:41I've got a few little issues going on with my coughing thing, but, who knows,
08:46um, as I said, okay, leave a lot of that, come back to standard, and look at it,
08:50but, okay, this is how your bar looks, now, if the bar looks like that, more or less, except these
08:54now are a blender black, now, in order to see that, you have to export it, bring it back in,
08:58so, if you do this, you can see the blender black, but if you go in standard mode, you can't see it,
09:05so, I think, um, so, what's this, okay, that's the plank, okay, so, what we're going to do, we're going to
09:10take these, I want to go here, just for now, from my own personal preference, I want to export it as a color liner,
09:16go to downloads, we'll call this number nine, just so you can see the color, and I'll go here,
09:22and I'll delete it, and I'll bring it back, so, go back to here, import whatever you want, number nine,
09:29import that, and now you can see how the bar looks, in reality, in the game world, that's exactly how it's going to look,
09:36I'm thinking, yeah, it's not too bad looking bar, really, of course, as I say, you see how it's all separate,
09:43now, of course, if I'm planning on breaking this bar, I can avoid that, but if I avoid that,
09:49because now I'll glue them all together, I'll hide all of it together, I'm thinking, yeah, okay,
09:55I don't want it to look really like that, I want the wood separate, I want the studs, let's say for this panel,
10:03on that panel, and so forth, so whatever's on, whatever's on this piece of wood, I want it with
10:08that piece of wood, and I want the bar separate, I want them, as I say, I don't want it all like that,
10:12because you're not going to break up a whole massive section of the bar, well, you might do,
10:17depending on how strong you are, but now, go here, okay, I want to move this first, I want to move it
10:23into this folder, actually, I'll move it into here, and I'll copy it, and I can go to the second file,
10:30and I can paste it, I can click on it, now, what I should be able to do, in theory,
10:37you can go back to the center, turn around like this, as they did it entirely up to us, entirely
10:42optional, see if you see the gap in the bar, there should be a gap in between the bar there,
10:46as I say, I haven't lined it up properly, just let you know that, really blender,
10:50just move it over, as they're cornered lining up to your best ability, so something similar to that,
11:00you see the gaps on that, that's how I want it, so you should have like a little tiny gap in between,
11:05in between the wood, just so you can actually see there's a crack in the wood,
11:09not, not that you really have to, but if, you know, if the bartender behind you,
11:15you know, she might be looking through the crack, he might be looking through the crack,
11:20for some unknown reason, as I say, but then again, you could be hiding behind there,
11:26looking through the gap, and seeing what big scary and hairy creature is on the other side of the plank,
11:32I think, yeah, anyway, you kind of get the idea of the bar, so, well, the reason why I glue the
11:38fall, the first place is, because I want to show you, okay, so, all the geometry is here,
11:43you can simplify the geometry later on, when you're happy with it, so get the shape that you want,
11:50click here, click the faces, so, as I say, once you join here, click the face like that,
11:57obviously, you could do the whole entire section, you can do that if you want to,
12:01I'm not going to do that, okay, so I want to go here, I want to go to extrude,
12:06as I said, I'm trying to show you the content, I'm trying to show you a different way to end it,
12:12you want to pull this out roughly about five squares, so you want to go one, two, three,
12:18five, you don't want any more than five squares, because, yeah, well, it would actually really,
12:24you'll depend on the size of the character, but a bar usually is about five squares wider,
12:29they're about, so I'm thinking, okay, now, of course, as I said, you can make it wider,
12:35if you want to wide them up, as I said, you can pull it the whole width of the character,
12:41the width of my character is really five squares, so, if I do that, yeah, that's probably actually
12:48going to pull it back for the inside of the game world, now, if you do that, don't forget to allow
12:55the point at the back, so what you want to do is go in here, or zoom it back, turn the snapping on,
13:04and then what we could do, we could turn snapping on here, we could snap it back, two, three, four,
13:10five, that's eight, six, need that six squares, just turn this off, so you can manually move it,
13:18roughly about there, and then what you want to do, yeah, you want to snap it forward, about two squares,
13:31so if you want to do that, so snapping on, snap it forward, one, two, leave it, go one, two, leave it,
13:39and then snap it the last two, so what I thought, well, that's the underneath of the bar,
13:44so now, if you come this side of the bar, as I, this is how I make my B2 content, as I said,
13:50I make all the geometry in the template, so I don't have to really make much geometry, so I'll turn
13:58into the slide, get a good look at it, thinking, okay, great, now, of course, I'm going to have shelves
14:04on my down here, so obviously, what I would do is work out the size of the character, this is now at the
14:09point where I'd bring Emma in here, so I'd bring Emma in here, stand her here, this is too big for Emma,
14:15this is massive, so Emma's, I think Emma's about here, and from foot, from toe to tip, yeah, yeah,
14:23anyway, you just grab this, and you just snap this away to the base, now this gives you the back of the
14:32bar, of course, you're not going to pull it all the way to the floor, because you're going to have shelves
14:36inside there, so yeah, so you'll put it halfway, you'll put it down a little bit, stop, and then
14:43basically what you would do, you would basically pull it again, then you'll stop, and then you'll
14:47pull it again, so I'll show you what I'm talking about, so I'll say, when I'm going to show you the
14:53content, I'll say, you might want to know, you might not, but I'll say, it's up to you, so count the squares,
14:59really, so you want to pull it back up, so you want to pull it down, ideally about two squares,
15:05let's, yeah, let's put it down, actually, let's pull it down to covers that, so it covers that,
15:11okay, now what you want to do, is you want to basically pull it down, one square, now this is
15:18going to be like my shelf, so I'm going to pull it down now, all the way down to here, I'll leave it,
15:24and then I'll pull it, and then I'm going to pull it all the way down, depending on how far I want this one,
15:31so I'm going to pull this one to about there, then I'm going to snap it, and then I'll point
15:36right to the floor, like this, and now what I do, is I just go into wireframe, I turn it like this,
15:44of course, I can do this part first, if I want to, all you do is join those onto this side,
15:49if you want to, but of course, it depends, if the panel's coming out, if the panel's going to be broken out,
15:54then you can't do that, but as I said, this is just how we're doing, so I think, even though the panels
16:00are there, and you might think, well, you can't really put a shelf in there, don't forget, this is
16:04not just a little skinny shelf, it goes the full length for the bar, so just click on these,
16:10because I can do all these together, turn it around to the side, go to extrude, and it's snapping
16:19down now, and snapping back in, as I said, you can tell it's not lined up with the thing look,
16:24I'll show you, as I said, I can make it lined up absolutely perfect, if I want to,
16:29all I've got to do is basically go, if I want to do that now, I'll just go back into wireframe,
16:33as I said, I don't want any more than that, so I'm going to take this, and I'm going to drag this back
16:39a little bit, because that's way too close, I'm going to stick it around there,
16:46just for my own personal preference, now, as I say, if I want to move my bar, up, down, left,
16:51right, center, sideways, all I do is select that, I don't want that one in there, I'll select all this,
16:57because I'm in full wireframe mode, I can do this, select me, select this one, select this one,
17:05and move the bar up, so it actually twitches the shelf, so it looks like it's actually part of it,
17:13but really, it ain't got nothing to do with it, so as I say, it's just, it's just make-belief,
17:18pull it down, so you can't just twitch the surface, something like that, so if, if some character
17:27comes along and decide, oh yeah, I'm going to smash up the bar today, and I think it's great,
17:34after all my hard work, you've got to come along and smash it up, so we hide the bar, turn off the
17:39wireframe, we obviously hide the studs, and then behind the piece of wood, you've got a shelf full of
17:47goodies, I think it upgrades that, so I'm thinking, okay, let me just undo it, let me not undo it,
17:52go here, select this, but of course, if I've got a shelf there, I can leave it like that, and I can put boxes this side,
17:58nice to add the box in there, if I want to do that, I can, or I can just turn it like this,
18:06and I can just select all these, and delete them,
18:10as then, it's really up to me, oh no, I wouldn't delete them,
18:13I would have boxes underneath there, that's what I want to do, whatever, if I was going to have
18:18shelves like that, then of course, I need to join the shelf from here to here, because it's not
18:24going to stand there on its own like that, it's really not, because it's going to look silly in the
18:29game world, as I said to you, so obviously, all you do then, if you want to join the edges, you've got this
18:35edge, this edge, and this edge, and then you do the same here, same here, you extrude it out a little bit,
18:42and then all you do is connect these edges to these edges, and connect them edges to them edges,
18:47very plain, very simple, obviously don't do it until you're actually ready to put the rest of the bar
18:53in, so you do your bar, and you put it into place, so as I said, this is how it looks at the moment,
19:01turn this off, so as you can see, this is bar, bar number two,
19:09multiplication number two, multiplication number three, and of course, when you're ready for
19:14start, you start off with a prank, so I was thinking, okay, as I said, it's entirely true,
19:20so this is what you get as a template,
19:22and if I go here, if I import, was it number nine, no, it's not number nine, is it this one,
19:34yep, that's the one, okay, so here we go, so we're going to bring that in, dump it there,
19:39and we're going to click on that, I'm going to change the colour of that, and put that blender black,
19:44okay, so now if I click all this, go here, go here, apply, transform, go here, export, export to glyph,
19:57and it should be template,
19:59and that's the MBQ template, so I'm just showing you what I can do with it at the moment,
20:16of course, I can do a whole lot more to it than that, but as I said, it's up to you,
20:19you've got to get creative with it, yeah, it depends how creative you want to get with it,
20:24whatever, and it depends if you want to break it off, if you want to break it off, great,
20:27as I said, if you put a texture on it, as I said, the textures make it look a whole lot more different,
20:33in some cases it's better, in some cases it's not, so as I said, don't forget to add these,
20:39don't forget to add the bars on here, so I'll just show you that before I finish the video,
20:44if you're still watching the video, that's absolutely fantastic, great, okay, so you select all the ends,
20:53you select the inside, not the outside, because that's the actual point,
20:57okay, so let's do this,
21:07once you do that, go into top mode, zoom out, make it look like a post underneath the bar,
21:13so that, and the post is going to be, what, my fourth wide wide, there about,
21:23do that, I always forget to turn snapping on,
21:32so I'm going to do all that, as I said, don't do the outside of the plank of wood,
21:38because that's where your shelf, not your shelf, that's where your piece of wood's going to go in
21:42front of that, so you can't see none of that, unless of course you actually break it off,
21:46then you can see, okay, go here, now you see the part under here, what you want to do is just,
21:52just delete that square, you don't need to come down here, you want to join that to there,
21:57so here's a better way to do it, so you say deleting that square, turn around on this,
22:06look at your square,
22:06okay, so this is, this is the top, and that's the bottom,
22:15at the bottom, that's the top, it doesn't really matter, okay, go here, extrude,
22:19leave the snapping journal, and snap this all the way to the top,
22:25like this, and put it back inside it, now of course, just do that, just put, you, you're
22:30loving it properly, so it's perfect, but as I said, I'm just showing you, temporarily,
22:35if it's, I'll do that, because I only don't want one side of it,
22:40yeah, because I forgot, I think, yeah, perfect, it's great being human, go here and here,
22:48turn it to the side, as a, you know, it's a case of trial and error, that's what it is,
22:54yeah, you grab these, you have these as thick as you want to, put them inside the bar,
23:00and now of course, when you look at the bar, it now looks a bit more better,
23:04and it doesn't look like it's floating in thin air, how great is that,
23:09as I said, you grab this bar and pull it all the way across,
23:13and then these will be attached underneath here, so you can't see them,
23:19so as I said, you might not break the whole thing, you might just break the panels off here,
23:22and you might break one of the planks in here, you might break one of them, you might break both of them,
23:27of course, if you've done that, and you've got real world physics on it,
23:30yeah, the bar is going to fall down to one side,
23:33whatever, as I said, it depends how much detail that you want to put in,
23:37into your game world, as I said,
23:39this is called, Red Band Alley, Free Studded Bar, stay safe, keep your friendly,
23:46don't forget to subscribe, see you soon, and thanks very much for subscribing, bye.
23:52I'll see you soon, bye.
