In this lesson, we will learn how to apply number range data validation in Microsoft Excel. You will see how to set rules that restrict users to enter only values within a specified range, helping maintain accuracy and consistency in your spreadsheets. This feature is useful for managing forms, reports, and data entry tasks where valid numbers are required.

00:00So let's say I want the A's data right here to be between 18 to 50 only. So in order to do that,
00:08you need to first click on the cell, then go around over here onto data, then click on data
00:14validation. And then in validation criteria, you need to go around and click on the drop down menu,
00:22and then go ahead and choose whole numbers. So over here, the data is in between as you can see.
00:28So the minimum range I want is 18 and the maximum is 50. I can set it out like that and press OK.
00:36So now if I were to type in 12 and enter, it won't allow me to enter the data. But if I were to type
00:43in, let's say, for example, 45, it will allow me to type it in. But if I were to type in 51,
00:50then it won't accept the data. And that is how you can go ahead and use number range data validation.
