00:31but then you get closer and then you're like,
00:32oh my gosh, what is this trying to say?
00:34And then you feel a little bit uncomfortable
00:37and yet you feel drawn to it.
00:38And I think this juxtaposition of feelings
00:41is really what I'm always trying to convey.
00:50I really wanted to push negotiators
00:53to remind them of the rising cost of inaction, right?
00:56That's why we're adding plastics each and every single day,
00:59to show the rising cost of not being able to come to an agreement.
01:02That negotiators also really consider the health implications
01:07of plastics in their treaty text.
01:10over 16,000 chemicals are used in plastics,
01:13with at least 4,200 deemed hazardous to human health.
01:22Hostility globally that the environmental world faces
01:26is so much higher than it ever was.
01:29And funding is being cut across the board.
01:31There's so much fear and uncertainty
01:34because global policies keep changing.
01:36And then on top of that,
01:37we have multiple conflicts that are happening in the world
01:39that are sucking up all the air time.
