In an interview with CGTN, Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz said Malaysia is eyeing more Chinese investments in EVs, services, and infrastructure, calling China a key partner in driving growth.

00:36where it's primarily driven by investments from China.

00:43BYD is opening their factory there as well.
00:45Of course, we have Cherry already in another state and all moving into the EV technology,
00:50all adopting because Malaysia, we are a very large player in the semiconductor industry.

01:17Zafrul added that Malaysia can provide the ecosystem for the semiconductor industry,
01:22particularly in the EV sector, to strengthen supply chain resiliency and security.
01:27He also pointed to digital and AI adoption as well as the green transition
01:31as key areas for deeper collaboration between the two countries.
