00:01:43Did she offer to play the victim in the murder game?
00:01:46I know that was my idea.
00:01:47As was asking M to be the killer.
00:01:50Which is perhaps a little on the nose.
00:01:51You think I'd want to kill Franklin's wife?
00:01:53It was my idea to end the engagement.
00:01:55And you haven't been in a long-term relationship since.
00:02:04Jamie.
00:02:05I respectfully request that my personal life
00:02:08not be considered as fodder for our mystery games.
00:02:11I was just brainstorming.
00:02:12Besides that, I certainly won't be here when the Trask party attends.
00:02:18Ah, well Ainsley has made your participation a condition to her package.
00:02:25You're joking.
00:02:26Is this my joking face?
00:02:27Why would she-
00:02:28Insecurity.
00:02:30She might worry that Franklin still carries a torch for you,
00:02:33so she's coming down here in the hopes of extinguishing that torch.
00:02:37Well, she is certainly playing with fire.
00:02:43Ah, I'm simply extending Jason's metaphor.
00:02:47Anyway, if you decide to go forward with this proposal, I will plan to be here that weekend as well.
00:02:56Oh, you don't need to.
00:02:58I don't.
00:02:59I want to.
00:03:02At any rate, Janie, we have more murder games to write if you don't mind.
00:03:05Yes, my office is yours.
00:03:22Jason said you might be out here.
00:03:33You went back to his houseboat?
00:03:34You did.
00:03:35You said you seemed to need some time and space to think.
00:03:39Ah, neither of which you're giving me.
00:03:41I'm a terrible friend, aren't I?
00:03:43The worst.
00:03:44But I have thought Scotch.
00:03:45You know, I only met Franklin a handful of times.
00:03:51But I dare say that Jason is correct about Ainsley wanting to come here to extinguish
00:03:56whatever flames your ex may still have for you.
00:03:59Oh.
00:04:01And I think you're rubbing off on him.
00:04:03Who?
00:04:04Well, Jason.
00:04:05I don't recall him thinking so much about psychology when our paths first crossed.
00:04:10Well, I suppose that's true.
00:04:12And I think it's rather chivalrous of him to want to come out here when Franklin comes
00:04:18to Mystery Island.
00:04:19If Franklin comes, you mean?
00:04:22Well, do I?
00:04:23I mean, I don't know if you realise, but you too would do well to extinguish
00:04:26whatever stray embers you may still have for Franklin.
00:04:29There are no embers, Janie.
00:04:31Trust me.
00:04:32Well, oh, good.
00:04:33Then you'll have no problem supporting this venture.
00:04:36I see what you did there.
00:04:38What?
00:04:40Well played.
00:04:43Okay, fine.
00:04:45Tell Mrs. Trust they can come.
00:04:47Shall do.
00:04:48Two, uh, torches being extinguished.
00:05:12Good morning, ladies and gentlemen.
00:05:18We have an exciting weekend ahead.
00:05:21Starting with full VIP conditions for the party of Franklin Trask.
00:05:25Additionally, disguised as a guest and amongst his party will be our COO, Baroness Jane Alcott.
00:05:34Thank you, Bennett.
00:05:35Well, I'm excited about this weekend for a plethora of reasons, but chief among them is that our brilliant
00:05:41game writers, Dr. Priestley and Detective Trent will also be here, which hasn't happened for a while.
00:05:47The game will begin at the hidden hut.
00:05:51And this weekend, Amelia will be playing as herself, but Jason and I will be taking
00:05:56on fictitious roles in the narrative and I will be disguised as Franklin Trask did meet me several years ago.
00:06:02And I will be playing the role of Professor Loretta Mabry, an archaeologist from California.
00:06:14And Jason will be cast very much against type as Sean Callahan, a Boston businessman, which is a euphemism for gangster.
00:06:26And our VIP party consists of Vivica Bentley, COO and Franklin Trask's right hand woman at Trask Global hedge fund.
00:06:34Spencer Trask, a former NFL tight end who was briefly a VP at Trask Global until a month ago.
00:06:43Patricia Colacello, Spencer's model girlfriend, and Mickey Carlisle, a Des Moines school teacher,
00:06:50who has been best friends with Ainsley Trask since they were children.
00:06:54And finally, the host of the party, Franklin Trask, a billionaire with a capital B,
00:07:02and his newlywed wife, Ainsley, a successful corporate attorney.
00:07:08For those of you who don't know me, my name is Dr. Amelia Priestley, game author, and on behalf of our CEO,
00:07:17Carlos Del Fuego, I want to welcome you to Mystery Island and allow me to introduce our new new house
00:07:23manager of Major Domo and Simmons, her assistant.
00:07:26Oh, please call me Bennett. Now, before we repair to the veranda for cocktails,
00:07:31if you could all kindly place your mobile phones into this black box Simmons has.
00:07:35Hang on. I promised my followers hourly updates.
00:07:38Oh, honey. Hey, you remember that time when you got food boys and didn't post for like two days?
00:07:43You actually got more followers. Well, this is like that.
00:07:47Spencer, you're so smart.
00:07:51Thank you, help me.
00:07:57Amelia, at last.
00:08:03It's lovely to meet you.
00:08:05That's something I hear often.
00:08:08Oh, she is more beautiful than you led me to believe, Frankie.
00:08:12Oh, and no band on that fourth finger.
00:08:17I cannot believe you're still single.
00:08:19I see you're already playing detective, Mrs. Trask.
00:08:22I am all in. I even offered to bet Frankie I could solve the mystery first, didn't I, my love?
00:08:27You didn't take the bet, but I did. You're ready to pay up, Baines.
00:08:32If both of you wouldn't mind handing in your phones, we may proceed.
00:08:35Well, Spencer.
00:08:36It's, uh, good to see you, Emmy.
00:09:06Thank you. That's fine. That's fine.
00:09:10Ladies and gentlemen, we hope you're all enjoying your first looks at Mystery Island.
00:09:15Your luggage has been taken care of. Bennett has your keys and you'll be shown to your rooms.
00:09:19Once you are all there, you will find the first clue that will begin the game.
00:09:23Can you tell us where the body is?
00:09:25That's all part of the mystery, Ms. Colacello, but I can assure you,
00:09:28among the people assembled here, there is a killer.
00:09:31Delightful. This is already so much fun.
00:09:34Come on, Franklin. Let's not waste time looking at views. I've got a murder to solve.
00:09:47You okay?
00:09:48Fine.
00:09:49You don't look fine.
00:09:50No? How do I look?
00:09:51Understandably addled at being face to face with a man you almost married and has abrasive new wife.
00:09:56You think she's abrasive?
00:09:57She makes sandpaper look like silk. Franklin, from one extreme to the other.
00:10:01Are you suggesting I'm not abrasive?
00:10:03Or obnoxious, or entitled, or any of Ainsley's other in-your-face qualities.
00:10:07Listen, I told Vivica I forgot my key. She's already decided to be my partner in crime solving,
00:10:13and she keeps pumping me with questions about archaeology, and I'm just inventing answers.
00:10:16Janie, you were supposed to study.
00:10:19You know how I feel about studying, Em? What about you? Have they asked you about being a mobster?
00:10:22When someone asks me what business I know, I say, that's my business.
00:10:25Oh no, that's good.
00:10:27Oh, and I must say, Franklin does seem quite into his wife.
00:10:30Well, he did manage to slip me this.
00:10:33What is it?
00:10:36I have to see you alone. Tell me where and when.
00:10:39I knew it.
00:10:40What did you know?
00:10:41Well, that he is still in love with you.
00:10:43You just said he was attached to his wife.
00:10:46Oh, he's overcompensating.
00:10:47Clearly. When are you going to meet him?
00:10:48I'm not sure that I am.
00:10:49Well, just to find out.
00:10:51Loretta, did you find your key?
00:10:54Sure did.
00:10:57Mr. Callaghan, you heard what Dr. Priestley said.
00:10:59We all have to unlock our doors to get the game started.
00:11:03Let's do it.
00:11:16You all got here rather quickly.
00:11:17Yeah, the riddle you had us work out wasn't hard.
00:11:20I thought it was.
00:11:22Yeah, you made that clear, Spencer.
00:11:24Once Ainsley pretty brilliantly figured out that each of the boards in our rooms featured a different
00:11:28part of an anagram.
00:11:29I remember having a hand in that deduction, Mickey.
00:11:31Yeah, I guess you helped a little.
00:11:34These detective kits are so adorbs.
00:11:37Do we get to keep them?
00:11:38Yep.
00:11:38Yay!
00:11:39Okay, we're here at the Hidden Hut, so we're next.
00:11:43Twelve years ago, when this island was just the home to Evelyn Murta and her son, John,
00:11:47the sommelier on their staff disappeared.
00:11:50His name was Ricardo Rincon.
00:11:53The murders only realized he was missing when the police came to the island looking for him.
00:11:57Ricardo had been identified as part of a gold smuggling operation.
00:12:00Did you live in the hut?
00:12:01Yes, he did.
00:12:02Ah, you keeping up, Ains?
00:12:05Of course, the police searched his lodgings, but they found no gold.
00:12:08Might you have better luck?
00:12:09Oh, you better believe we will.
00:12:22Some boxes we can go through.
00:12:35Yeah, go for it.
00:12:44Looks like this is a big floor.
00:12:46Let's try this.
00:12:52Found something.
00:12:54That was fast.
00:12:56Hey guys, over here.
00:13:06What's your thoughts, Mickey?
00:13:19Mick teaches biology.
00:13:21Well, it's, uh, it's a human...
00:13:24Obviously, it's human, Mick.
00:13:26Yes, Spencer, if you let me finish, human male.
00:13:29Well, judging by the degree of desiccation, I'd say he's been here for at least 10 years.
00:13:36Oh, so this definitely could be Ricardo Rincon.
00:13:40Yes.
00:13:41Do you know if Rincon was missing his three left fingers?
00:13:45Well, I didn't know him personally, but no, I don't think so.
00:13:48Okay, so maybe this is someone else.
00:13:50Or maybe this is Ricardo Rincon and he was being interrogated right here.
00:13:55What do you think to that possibility, Sean?
00:13:56Why are you asking me?
00:13:58Well, you just seem like the kind of businessman who's been involved in some tough discussions.
00:14:06There are marks on his ribs.
00:14:08Knife wounds, I'd say.
00:14:10He's probably been stabbed many times.
00:14:14Here's a knife.
00:14:17Or it might be dry blood on it.
00:14:19Loretta, look at this.
00:14:22How old would you say this is?
00:14:23Well, it isn't an artifact, right?
00:14:30The double letter R on the hilt.
00:14:33So possibly Ricardo stabbed this man here.
00:14:36Or Ricardo was killed with his own knife.
00:14:39Look at this map.
00:14:40It's written in some sort of code.
00:14:43Franklin is brilliant with code.
00:14:47Hey, check it out.
00:14:48Some kind of journal.
00:14:49Like a diary.
00:14:51Nah, it's more like a log.
00:14:53It's in code, too.
00:14:54Well, maybe Franklin can help with that.
00:14:55He's brilliant with code.
00:14:57I'm brilliant at most things, Ains.
00:14:59I know you are, honey.
00:15:00It would be good to know more about Ricardo.
00:15:05Did he grow up poor?
00:15:06And that's why he turned to crime.
00:15:08Sometimes I think if I weren't beautiful,
00:15:11I would have been a criminal.
00:15:14Man, there's tons of files here.
00:15:16So if we take that and the map back to the house,
00:15:18get a better look out.
00:15:26What do you think?
00:15:27The letters are clearly jumbled.
00:15:30But look at the dots.
00:15:31This could be a variant cipher.
00:15:35How did you learn to do this?
00:15:37In college, I was bored.
00:15:40Let's know you to learn code because you're bored.
00:15:47You had such a swift victory locating the hidden room.
00:15:50Are you generously allowing others a chance at a breakthrough?
00:15:54Once you get to know me,
00:15:55you'll see what an absurd question that is.
00:15:59You said Ricardo Rincon was the sommelier?
00:16:02Mm-hmm.
00:16:03Where's the wine cellar?
00:16:06I'll show you.
00:16:10So, if I get to know you better,
00:16:12why would I realize that was an absurd question
00:16:14to think you might want to support the others?
00:16:16You're the psychiatrist.
00:16:17What do you think?
00:16:19I think you play to win.
00:16:21Always have.
00:16:22You know what?
00:16:25I get what Franklin sees in you.
00:16:27If we'd met under different circumstances,
00:16:29we might be good friends.
00:16:31Do you have many good friends?
00:16:34It's not been a forte of mine.
00:16:37I have Mickey, who clearly adores you.
00:16:41But then it is easy to be friends with people from your past who live a thousand miles away.
00:16:47You know what?
00:16:48Franklin warned me you didn't pull your punches.
00:16:50Yeah, I should tell you that the police did search this cellar when Ricardo disappeared,
00:16:55and that was years ago.
00:16:57Well, looks like they clearly missed this switch in here.
00:17:05Well, lookie there.
00:17:06Our boy Ricardo sure liked his hidden rooms.
00:17:14Shall we?
00:17:21Bingo.
00:17:23We handled that well, Ainsley.
00:17:24Impressive.
00:17:37I'm not dumb.
00:17:40See these dust patterns on the floor?
00:17:42Some bigger, some not.
00:17:44Someone's been moving the gold out a bit at a time.
00:17:50Are you suggesting a staff member?
00:17:54I don't know.
00:18:03A piece of what's left of Ricardo's smuggled gold.
00:18:07And the motive for his murder.
00:18:09Whoever tortured him in that basement below the hut that day
00:18:12must have finally gotten the gold's location out of him.
00:18:15That bar comes from a crate in a secret room off the wine cellar.
00:18:19But, based on dust patterns on the floor,
00:18:22there had to be more than one crate down there at a time.
00:18:25Someone's been moving the gold out gradually.
00:18:27That's what I thought, Frankie.
00:18:28Is she a genius or what?
00:18:33Ready to pay off on our bets, Spencer?
00:18:35Hey, whoa, you haven't won yet.
00:18:37We're supposed to find out who killed Ricardo.
00:18:39Well, Dr. Priestley thinks we should look at staff members.
00:18:43Will that make sense?
00:18:44Yeah, but if a staff member killed Ricardo,
00:18:46they would have been able to take the gold all at once.
00:18:49I think our culprit is more likely a person who's come down here
00:18:53several times in the last 12 years.
00:18:56Who would have brought an empty suitcase here and taken it back,
00:18:59loaded with stolen gold.
00:19:02Sean, how many times have you been to Mystery Island?
00:19:04I have a handful.
00:19:06You fly privately.
00:19:11Nice way to avoid TSA.
00:19:14And what business are you in exactly?
00:19:17Import-export.
00:19:19So the mob.
00:19:21Can I go to your room and see if you have a,
00:19:24I don't know, an empty suitcase fortified for extra weight?
00:19:28Go for it.
00:19:47Okay, if we track this code to here,
00:19:51and then, Patricia, what have you got?
00:19:52Well, it doesn't look like Morse code.
00:19:54It's the Fibonacci sequence.
00:19:55Oh.
00:19:58Has anyone ever solved a game this quickly?
00:20:01Never on the first day, only once on the second.
00:20:03This is uncanny.
00:20:05Mrs. Strask is quite, well, she's quite something.
00:20:09Yeah.
00:20:10We worked so hard on the red herrings,
00:20:11getting the coding just right.
00:20:22What's the combination, Sean?
00:20:23What's up, Sean?
00:20:266.7.
00:20:28Lost an area code, of course.
00:20:32Well, it wasn't completely empty.
00:20:36Sean is the smuggler, and likely the killer of Ricardo...
00:20:41Rincon.
00:20:44Case closed.
00:20:45Well done, Ames.
00:20:55Loretta.
00:20:56Are you involved?
00:20:57That's not Loretta.
00:20:59That's Amelia's best friend, Janie Alcott.
00:21:02The COO of Mystery Island.
00:21:04Indeed.
00:21:05Well, it's lovely to meet you all as my, uh, as my true self.
00:21:09And a hearty congratulations to Mrs. Strask for correctly solving the mystery.
00:21:14Impressive, Ayns.
00:21:16The quickest solve yet, I'd say.
00:21:19She is special.
00:21:20Did she get a special prize?
00:21:22All game winners get a special prize, yes.
00:21:24But allow me to introduce you to Jason Trent, who, along with Amelia,
00:21:30make up our game writing team, and took on the role of Sean.
00:21:35It's nice to meet everybody.
00:21:37Clever narrative, you two.
00:21:40We thought so.
00:21:42Why don't we all meet on the veranda for a celebratory drink?
00:21:45Sounds good.
00:21:46Yes?
00:21:46Oh, and you were all getting caught up in maps and codes, and I just thought, well,
00:22:03you all know the expression, follow the money.
00:22:05I'm not talking about you money.
00:22:08Huh.
00:22:09Forgive me.
00:22:09I don't follow.
00:22:11Ainsley's nickname for me is money, because it's what I look after for Franklin.
00:22:16Anyway, Sean's big mistake was not figuring out a way all those years ago,
00:22:22how to take the gold in one fell swoop.
00:22:25I mean, if you're going to rob somebody, don't do it a little bit at a time.
00:22:29Don't you agree, money?
00:22:30Too true, Ainsley.
00:22:33Anyway, Janie, about that partial refund.
00:22:35Ainsley, come on, please.
00:22:38There's still plenty to do on this gorgeous island this weekend.
00:22:42In fact, Janie, I'm so glad you're here.
00:22:44Now that the game is finished, I'd love to chat to you about a potential investment in
00:22:48this enterprise.
00:22:49From you?
00:22:50From Trash Global.
00:22:52I believe you know one of my board members, Piper Plunkett?
00:22:56Piper, yes.
00:22:56She's my second cousin on my mother's side.
00:23:00Well, how lovely.
00:23:02Gosh, I haven't seen her since her father's third wedding.
00:23:05Ladies and gentlemen, dinner will be served in the dining room in one hour.
00:23:09A gentle reminder that we require all guests to be in formal wear for this evening's meal.
00:23:15Come on, babe.
00:23:16Let's go get ready.
00:23:23Well, that was quite unexpected.
00:23:24Ainsley solving the game in record time?
00:23:27No, no.
00:23:27Piper, my second cousin, being on Franklin's board.
00:23:31And yes, Ainsley as well.
00:23:33Janie, I want to caution you in the strongest language possible,
00:23:37not to entertain the idea of bringing these people into the company.
00:23:41And it isn't these people.
00:23:42It's a billion dollar hedge fund.
00:23:45And I know it's managed by Franklin.
00:23:47Franklin isn't my problem.
00:23:49It's his wife.
00:23:51Yeah, I realize she can be brass.
00:23:53I don't care about that.
00:23:54I care about how she managed to solve our mystery so quickly.
00:23:57And I intend to find out.
00:24:07She's furious.
00:24:08Yes, well spotted, Jason.
00:24:18Ladies and gentlemen, please be seated.
00:24:20Thanks.
00:24:35What are you doing?
00:24:56Meeting you, like you asked.
00:24:58Why didn't you use the normal path?
00:25:00Well, I didn't want people to know where I was going.
00:25:03Right.
00:25:05Sorry for being startled.
00:25:07Sorry for startling you.
00:25:10And thanks for the meet.
00:25:13Well, you can thank Ainsley for that.
00:25:15I don't follow.
00:25:18Is she a big mystery fan?
00:25:20Constantly reading whodunits?
00:25:23No, not at all.
00:25:26But, I mean, I didn't come here to talk about Ainsley.
00:25:28I came here because I made a huge mistake.
00:25:33Franklin, if this is about us...
00:25:34Of course it's about us, I mean.
00:25:37Look, I, um...
00:25:40I think I married Ainsley because I wanted to prove to myself that I still wasn't in love with you.
00:25:46The joke's on me.
00:25:50Because...
00:25:52Guess what?
00:25:52I'm still in love with you.
00:25:58I knew it.
00:26:02I wish I could say I was surprised.
00:26:07Ainsley, hang on.
00:26:11You okay?
00:26:12Not really.
00:26:14But we should follow them.
00:26:17You're being unreasonable!
00:26:19Don't gaslight me, Franklin.
00:26:20I know what I heard.
00:26:21What did you hear?
00:26:23My husband professing his love for his ex.
00:26:26I arranged this whole vacation to test him.
00:26:31And you failed.
00:26:32You're a cheat!
00:26:34And you?
00:26:35Well, you were just ready to fall back into his arms.
00:26:38I did nothing of the sort.
00:26:40And there was no cheating going on.
00:26:41That's you projecting your own behavior.
00:26:43Well, what's that supposed to mean?
00:26:44You don't like whodunits, yet you solved our game in record time.
00:26:47It's called being smart, which I thought you were.
00:26:51Ainsley, please, don't do this.
00:26:53I'm doing what needs to be done, money.
00:26:55I would like my own room tonight, please.
00:26:57And I'll be leaving tomorrow morning.
00:26:59When I get back to New York, I'll be filing for divorce.
00:27:01And I will bleed you dry.
00:27:17Thanks, buddy.
00:27:24I should go check on Ains.
00:27:26I'm sure she'll be back to her usual self by tomorrow.
00:27:30Aw, chap, I hate to break it to you.
00:27:32This is her real self.
00:27:35You've never liked her.
00:27:37And you're in love with her.
00:27:38What's that supposed to mean?
00:27:39Oh, please stop arguing.
00:27:41This isn't helping anyone.
00:27:47Bennett, is it possible one of your staff
00:27:51shared details of the mystery script with Ainsley?
00:27:54I do hope not.
00:27:56I'll start interviewing them immediately.
00:28:00I'd be shocked if one of the staff sold us out like this.
00:28:03I don't like the idea either, but I am certain Ainsley cheated.
00:28:06We'll see what Bennett finds.
00:28:08In the meantime, I think we should all get some sleep.
00:28:12I don't think I'll ever get used to these shifting signs
00:28:17As time falls through my hands
00:28:23And the ground is giving way despite my best laid plans
00:28:32It's all out of my hands
00:28:38Unraveling
00:28:41Sorry to wake you, Emmy, but Ainsley's not in her room.
00:29:06I can't find her anywhere.
00:29:08Are you sure she's not already down at the dock waiting for the boat?
00:29:12No, she's not.
00:29:13Her bags are still in the room and I just don't...
00:29:15Franklin, you go for breakfast.
00:29:17We will swap this.
00:29:18Okay.
00:29:19Okay, thank you.
00:29:21Have you told Janie and Jason?
00:29:23Yes.
00:29:24They're meeting at her room and I've got the staff searching the grounds.
00:29:26Okay.
00:29:26Let me get dressed and I'll meet them there.
00:29:29Toiletry's in the bathroom.
00:29:37And the bed's unmade, so clearly she's slept here.
00:29:41Didn't Ainsley have four pieces of luggage?
00:29:47And now there's only three.
00:29:49You're spotted, Em.
00:29:50We searched every room and communal area in the mansion as well as the nearby grounds.
00:29:55There's no sign of her.
00:29:58We could press on to other parts of the resort.
00:30:00Let's do that.
00:30:01I want to check places we know Ainsley's bed.
00:30:03Start in the hidden hut, then the white cellar.
00:30:05Well, everything here is as we left it.
00:30:25Should we check the basement?
00:30:25She's dead.
00:30:49She's dead.
00:30:55The carotid artery was cut.
00:31:03Killer was angry.
00:31:04Or thorough.
00:31:06Time of death.
00:31:07Ballpark between 12 and 2.
00:31:11Her hand.
00:31:12Yeah, I saw that.
00:31:14It looks like an S.
00:31:16Well, at the guest, there's Spencer.
00:31:18And the only staff member is Simmons.
00:31:20I'll go and check the security camera, see what his movements were.
00:31:23Ray and I will go tell Franklin.
00:31:33Franklin, when I'm not writing murder games for Mystery Island, I'm a detective on the mainland.
00:31:37This is Ray Romero, the chief of police.
00:31:39I'm grateful to you both.
00:31:41Do you have any leads?
00:31:43I regret to inform you, Mr. Trash, that your wife was murdered last night.
00:31:49Murdered?
00:31:50Are you sure?
00:31:54Quite sure, sir.
00:31:56I don't, um...
00:31:57What happened?
00:31:59That's what we intend to find out.
00:32:02Where was she?
00:32:03The hidden hut.
00:32:04She was killed sometime between midnight and 2 a.m.
00:32:09This is, um...
00:32:10There's a lot to take in, I know.
00:32:11Look, I, um, I realize everyone in this room is thinking about what happened between Ainsley and I last night.
00:32:19And I want to be clear.
00:32:20I loved Ainsley.
00:32:23And absolutely would have given her the divorce if that's what she really wanted.
00:32:29And my guests and I will, um, we'll stay here on this island until the killer's been arrested.
00:32:33We appreciate that cooperation, sir.
00:32:35I need to interview everyone here.
00:32:38Starting with Spencer.
00:32:40You, actually.
00:32:44Everyone, could I have your attention, please?
00:32:46I'm a detective and this is Ray Romero, the chief of police.
00:32:49I regret to inform you that Ainsley's been killed.
00:32:51Oh, no.
00:33:02Okay, Amelia.
00:33:03To explain what we...
00:33:04I expect Jason told you that I was engaged to Franklin nearly seven years ago.
00:33:08And Franklin gave me a note upon arriving here insisting we meet in private.
00:33:12That he told me last night that he was still in love with me, which Ainsley heard, as did Jason.
00:33:17And this led to the row that the Trasks had, her threats of divorce, etc, etc.
00:33:21Yes, so you understand.
00:33:23I do.
00:33:23And as Jason also knows, I was adamantly opposed to Franklin and his party coming to this island.
00:33:28It was me who ended our engagement.
00:33:31Why?
00:33:36It was a mistake.
00:33:37I was in love with Franklin at first, but I wasn't willing to move to New York and he certainly wasn't going to go to London.
00:33:43So we were long distance for nearly a year.
00:33:45And then he suddenly proposed, promising to relocate his business to London.
00:33:51And I accepted.
00:33:55But as the months passed, it became clear I was just another deal he needed to close.
00:33:59So I ended it.
00:34:01So why did you meet with him in secret down on the beach?
00:34:06Because I believe Ainsley cheated at the game and I had some questions I wanted to ask Franklin to help me prove it.
00:34:12Did you succeed?
00:34:13I learned she's not in the least bit interested in whodunnits.
00:34:20What do you think about this theory?
00:34:23I think Amelia's right.
00:34:24And where were you between midnight and two a.m.?
00:34:30Asleep.
00:34:32I had an aperitif in my room to take the edge off and it did its job rather thoroughly.
00:34:39Okay.
00:34:40Well, thank you Amelia.
00:34:42I hope you understand that we can't at this time include you on this side of the table.
00:34:49Could you ask Franklin to join us?
00:34:51Of course.
00:34:52I had an aperitif last night as well and it did quite a number on me.
00:35:05I passed out in the chair in my room.
00:35:07I don't know why anyone would want to drug us, but I need to order a few tox screens.
00:35:13Sure.
00:35:13Franklin, the police would like to talk to you in the dining room.
00:35:25Janie.
00:35:28What is it?
00:35:28I think I'm being treated as a suspect.
00:35:31Well, yes, of course.
00:35:32I assume so, given them questioning you.
00:35:34Jealousy is a powerful motive for murder.
00:35:36I haven't seen Franklin in seven years.
00:35:38And the first day that you do, you're exchanging love declarations on the beach.
00:35:41Not exchanging, it was him to me.
00:35:43Oh, no, Amy, darling, I don't think in a million years you had anything to do with Ainsley's murder.
00:35:46I'm just positing the kind of hypotheticals Jason is.
00:35:49Oh, Jason, who knows me?
00:35:51Yes, and I don't think for a moment that Jason thinks you're the suspect either.
00:35:55But he has to do his due diligence as a detective.
00:35:58Wouldn't you agree?
00:35:59Yes, of course.
00:36:01I did tell Ray about my suspicions that Ainsley cheated.
00:36:04But I'm not sure he's convinced it's connected to her murder and won't pursue it.
00:36:11Then we shall.
00:36:13So there are some motives among these guests for perhaps wanting Ainsley dead.
00:36:17Yes, starting with her husband, who hardly convinced me with his stoic speech.
00:36:21Before we go there, we should think about how Ainsley cheated.
00:36:24I know after her interviews, Bennett said her staff were above reproach.
00:36:29But I would kind of like to search their rooms.
00:36:34Well, Em, I'm COO. That's corporate property.
00:36:36I'm COO. That's corporate property.
00:36:58Jamie?
00:36:59It appears my theory was correct.
00:37:25$50,000.
00:37:26And this is likely just the payout?
00:37:29I bet Ainsley gave the same amount in advance.
00:37:33What are you doing?
00:37:34Get Jason.
00:37:39Jason?
00:37:44Ainsley gave the same amount in advance.
00:37:56Amelia.
00:37:58Amelia, wake up.
00:38:01Hey.
00:38:02Hey.
00:38:03What's going on?
00:38:04Janie came running to tell me that you were chasing Simmons.
00:38:08Right.
00:38:09Oh.
00:38:10Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
00:38:11Lay back.
00:38:12Yeah.
00:38:13I think that might be best.
00:38:14You've got quite a knot on the back of your head.
00:38:18Did you see Simmons?
00:38:19Oh, he must have been waiting for me.
00:38:20He got behind me.
00:38:21We'll find him.
00:38:22We need to get you to the infirmary.
00:38:23I can carry you.
00:38:24Okay.
00:38:26Hang on.
00:38:27Thank you for being here.
00:38:30Of course.
00:38:31And listen, I'm sorry we had to grill you like that earlier.
00:38:34I'm sorry if I was a bit short with you.
00:38:35More with Ray.
00:38:36Do you really think I murdered the wife of my ex?
00:38:37Do you really think I think you did?
00:38:38No.
00:38:39No.
00:38:40No.
00:38:41No.
00:38:42No.
00:38:43No.
00:38:44No.
00:38:45No.
00:38:46No.
00:38:47No.
00:38:48No.
00:38:49No.
00:38:50No.
00:38:51No.
00:38:52No.
00:38:53No.
00:38:54No.
00:38:55No.
00:38:56No.
00:38:57No.
00:38:58No.
00:38:59No.
00:39:01No.
00:39:02No.
00:39:03No.
00:39:04No.
00:39:05I know you're just doing your job.
00:39:09Do you have conflicted feelings about Franklin?
00:39:12I do.
00:39:14The feelings in conflict are a great deal of pity, a small amount of nostalgia and confusion
00:39:20at how I ever could have said yes to marrying him.
00:39:23I can think of a few reasons someone would marry the guy, but I don't think you care about
00:39:28those reasons.
00:39:29You know me well.
00:39:31I think I can stand up now.
00:39:34Go slow.
00:39:39Oh, um, the suitcase and money in Simmons' room.
00:39:43Janie and Ray are taking care of that.
00:39:44I was thinking it was the payout.
00:39:45We'll definitely check to see if Simmons opened an offshore account in the last month where Ainsley
00:39:49could have wired the advance, but it looks like you were right.
00:39:53She's so competitive she spent a hundred grand to win a game.
00:39:55I think it's more than competition.
00:39:57I think she wanted to prove to Franklin that she's smarter than me.
00:40:00I think she knew Franklin was still in love with you.
00:40:02If she spent all that money just to hear him declare that love to you, then maybe she went
00:40:06to Simmons and asked for her money back.
00:40:08And perhaps he refused.
00:40:09She threatened him and he killed her.
00:40:11Are you going to bring more police over to search for him?
00:40:14I think a better use of manpower is to shut down the dock so he can't get off the island.
00:40:18He didn't plan for this.
00:40:19He'll get hungry and thirsty sooner than surface.
00:40:22But now I don't know why anyone drugged our upper teeth.
00:40:25Our upper teeths?
00:40:26Yeah.
00:40:27I had mine last night.
00:40:28Same reaction.
00:40:29I fell asleep way too fast.
00:40:30I have Ray running talk screen.
00:40:32Ready to head back?
00:40:34We'll get a few more suspects to interview.
00:40:36I'm happy to help with that.
00:40:37I'm sure you are, but technically you're still a suspect.
00:40:40Of course.
00:40:41So if you and Janie want to continue your investigation...
00:40:44We just might.
00:40:45Just don't chase anyone into the jungle, okay?
00:40:49Look straight ahead.
00:40:53Hello?
00:40:56Good news is you're not concussed.
00:41:03For the headache.
00:41:06And you need to rest.
00:41:08Thank you, Rosie.
00:41:09You're welcome.
00:41:10So, to your room.
00:41:13Oh, I'm not resting.
00:41:15There's a killer among us.
00:41:16But, Simmons...
00:41:18I'm not convinced it was him.
00:41:21So...
00:41:23Jason and Ray are doing interviews.
00:41:26We should do our own.
00:41:28Aren't we?
00:41:31Look, I watch a lot of true crime.
00:41:33And I know the husband is always suspect numero uno.
00:41:36Okay, but I'm telling you, Franklin isn't a good guy, okay?
00:41:39He's a great guy.
00:41:40Yet, you left his company a month ago.
00:41:44That had nothing to do with Franklin, man.
00:41:48What'd it have to do with?
00:41:50Ainsley!
00:41:51She wanted me out.
00:41:52So I got out.
00:41:53Look, before you go thinking that's a motive, I make a ton of money in my endorsements.
00:41:57And now I've got more time for Patricia, so it's all good.
00:41:59Why would Ainsley want you out?
00:42:01I mean, look, I don't want to speak ill about the dead, okay?
00:42:05But she was a controlling monster.
00:42:09But look, the NFL is full of people like her, okay?
00:42:11No biggie.
00:42:12Where were you between midnight and 2am?
00:42:14Passed out.
00:42:15Me and Patricia both.
00:42:16Jet lag, I guess.
00:42:18Hey, listen.
00:42:19Frankie said that Ainsley paid up a member of staff to cheat the game.
00:42:22Was it that Simmons guy?
00:42:24Why would you think that?
00:42:25Well, you know, suddenly he's not around.
00:42:28Bet he's gotta be top of the suspect list, right?
00:42:35What?
00:42:40Franklin?
00:42:44How you doing?
00:42:45Honestly, we wrung out.
00:42:48Your detective friend asked me about a prenup.
00:42:51Which of course we had.
00:42:53Ainsley was bluffing when she threatened to believe me financially in her divorce.
00:42:57Is that typical of her? Bluffing?
00:42:59Well, she's a corporate lawyer. It's what she does.
00:43:02Did.
00:43:05Every day.
00:43:10I'm sorry.
00:43:11No, don't apologize. Please.
00:43:13It's just I know I told you my marriage was a mistake.
00:43:16That doesn't mean I didn't care about her.
00:43:19And it's hard not to think that one of the people I brought here is responsible.
00:43:24Franklin.
00:43:26It seems that Em was correct.
00:43:28Ainsley was cheating at the game.
00:43:30I was thinking about that.
00:43:31Ainsley came down here to the mainland a few weeks ago.
00:43:34Supposedly to see a client, but now I'm not sure.
00:43:37It does appear that she was paying one of our staff quite a lot of money.
00:43:42Well, there you go.
00:43:44Why?
00:43:45Why would she want to win so badly?
00:43:47To humiliate the game's author?
00:43:49And humiliate me?
00:43:50She's been trying to do that since my honeymoon was over.
00:43:53That's why she brought Mickey with us.
00:43:55I'm pretty sure they're having an affair.
00:43:57I told Detective Trent.
00:43:59Where is Mickey?
00:44:00I think he's just going to talk to the detectives.
00:44:02Thanks, Franklin.
00:44:03I'm not comfortable breaking into a guest room.
00:44:04You're not breaking in.
00:44:05You're just going in there to retrieve my property.
00:44:10I can't.
00:44:11I can't.
00:44:12Well, I'm going in.
00:44:13Ah.
00:44:14Ah.
00:44:15Ainsley and I were high school sweethearts.
00:44:16We split up.
00:44:17Freshman year of college.
00:44:18It's her idea.
00:44:19And we're just going in there to retrieve my property.
00:44:21I can't.
00:44:22I can't.
00:44:23Well, I'm going in.
00:44:24Ah.
00:44:25Ainsley and I were high school sweethearts.
00:44:28We split up.
00:44:29Freshman year of college.
00:44:30It was her idea.
00:44:31And I hadn't seen her for years until our class reunion last year.
00:44:35Then a month after that, I was in New York for a conference and we connected.
00:44:38She just got back from her honeymoon.
00:44:39How did you see?
00:44:40Usual.
00:44:41Intense.
00:44:42Driven.
00:44:43Funny.
00:44:44Like, ten steps ahead of everyone else.
00:44:45How many times did you see her after that?
00:44:46A few.
00:44:47And your relationship was strictly platonic.
00:44:49Yeah.
00:44:50Yeah.
00:44:51Yeah.
00:44:52Yeah.
00:44:53Yeah.
00:44:54Yeah.
00:44:55Yeah.
00:44:56Yeah.
00:44:57Yeah.
00:44:58Yeah.
00:44:59Yeah.
00:45:00Yeah.
00:45:01Yeah.
00:45:02Yeah.
00:45:03Yeah.
00:45:04Yeah.
00:45:05Yeah.
00:45:06Yeah.
00:45:07Yeah.
00:45:08Yeah.
00:45:09Yeah.
00:45:10Yeah.
00:45:11Yeah.
00:45:12Yeah.
00:45:13Yeah.
00:45:14It was strictly platonic.
00:45:15Why would you ask that?
00:45:16Ainslie is...
00:45:17was totally committed to her husband.
00:45:20She seems so ready to divorce him.
00:45:25Ains was the president of a theater club in high school.
00:45:30She is a drama queen.
00:45:31I figured she and Franklin would kiss and make up.
00:45:34Where were you last night between midnight and two?
00:45:37I went to my room around 11.
00:45:40I tried to finish my book, but I nodded off pretty fast.
00:45:47Thank you, Mickey.
00:45:49Vivica, can we chat?
00:45:52Of course, Detective.
00:46:07I was hoping there'd be a tranche of love letters between him and Ainsley.
00:46:22Well, this isn't that, but it is quite curious.
00:46:27John's book?
00:46:29He's probably borrowed it from our library.
00:46:30No, this is Mickey's personal copy.
00:46:33And it's quite annotated.
00:46:37Come on.
00:47:07We need to follow him.
00:47:24He's going to commit another murder.
00:47:26I'm just devastated.
00:47:35I adored Ainsley.
00:47:37She was a real ally on the company board.
00:47:40Were you friends outside of work?
00:47:42Oh, yeah.
00:47:44But she had that nickname for you.
00:47:48Money?
00:47:48Detective, you must be assuming that that is derogatory.
00:47:55In our world, it's really quite the compliment.
00:47:57Can you imagine why anyone would want to do this to her?
00:48:00No.
00:48:05I'm sorry to ask, but where were you between midnight and two?
00:48:09Ah.
00:48:12I was asleep.
00:48:12I rarely make you past 11.
00:48:14I did a mess.
00:48:38No, it's not.
00:48:39No, it's not okay.
00:48:40He's dead.
00:48:41He's stuck on this island.
00:48:42I...
00:48:43Please, stand on you.
00:48:45No, I am old.
00:48:47I'm old.
00:48:59I've got Mickey.
00:49:01I've got Vivica.
00:49:01Hello?
00:49:16Is there anyone in there?
00:49:20Can I help you?
00:49:21I wanted to turn this in.
00:49:25You make sure it's not the murder weapon.
00:49:27We'll take a look.
00:49:31You make sure it's not the murder weapon.
00:50:01I mean, Ainsley was totally brilliant, but she was a horrible person.
00:50:10I tried being a good sister to her, but she's zero time for me.
00:50:14So, whatever.
00:50:15I moved on.
00:50:16Were you upset when she forced Spencer out of Franklin's company?
00:50:19Oh, did Spencer tell you that?
00:50:22Who runs the company?
00:50:24So you're saying Franklin forced out his own brother?
00:50:26I'm saying he brought Spencer in there because NFL players are a big deal.
00:50:31They get people excited, right?
00:50:32Which is what Spencer was doing.
00:50:34But then Franklin comes to Spencer and says he believes he's trying to edge Franklin out of his own company.
00:50:39Which Spencer was totally not doing, obviously.
00:50:42Even though he's totally smart and could do it.
00:50:44And Spencer would maybe be upset with me for telling you this.
00:50:47But I was furious with Franklin for a minute there.
00:50:51I mean, I could have killed him.
00:50:53Literally.
00:50:54But I calmed down.
00:50:57Spencer always says family first.
00:50:59So, anyway, all good now.
00:51:02Except Ainsley being murdered.
00:51:05Except that.
00:51:05So, let's go.
00:51:35There you are.
00:51:37So, I tailed Vivica back here where she met up with Franklin and gave him a very familiar shoulder massage.
00:51:45Well, how did he receive it?
00:51:47Quite comfortably.
00:51:49And then he poured them some wine and they went up to his room.
00:51:53I noticed them being comfortable yesterday.
00:51:56Hey, what about Mickey?
00:51:58Well, he went to the Hidden Hut.
00:52:00What are you joking?
00:52:02Isn't that where the forensics people are?
00:52:03Yes, they are.
00:52:05Which is why he went.
00:52:06He turned in.
00:52:09He turned in the knife.
00:52:12Well, the one who threatened Vivica with.
00:52:14I don't know.
00:52:14I'm not sure he was threatening her.
00:52:17He most certainly was threatening her.
00:52:20Think about his body language.
00:52:22He backed away from her.
00:52:23He held the knife low and close to himself.
00:52:25And then he bolted from her.
00:52:27After shouting that she owed him.
00:52:29He actually said,
00:52:30I'm owed.
00:52:31Which, not to be a language obsessive, doesn't necessarily mean Vivica's the one who owes him whatever he feels like he's owed.
00:52:38Fair point.
00:52:40Miss Criminal Psychiatrist.
00:52:42That's the doctor Miss Criminal Psychiatrist, please.
00:52:44Okay, so he handed in the knife and then what?
00:52:49He went to the beach and looked at the ocean.
00:52:51Is he still there?
00:52:54I don't know.
00:52:56While I was watching him, I had a thought, so I went and got his murder book.
00:52:59And look what I found among the annotations.
00:53:01Even an amateur, a person utterly unskilled at murder can walk up to a seated person from behind with a sharp four-inch blade
00:53:09and cut their carotid artery as easy as slicing a lemon.
00:53:14Ray said that Ainsley's carotid artery is what the killer cut.
00:53:21But this is hardly proof we can take to Jason.
00:53:23Yeah, you're right.
00:53:25We need to get back to our murder board and think this all through.
00:53:31Now, I know it's a cliche, but before Mickey's book, I was thinking that Franklin was the prime suspect
00:53:41and his motive was to get out of his marriage.
00:53:46And do you think he's capable of murder?
00:53:49Every human being is capable of murder, given the right circumstances,
00:53:52but I'm not sure these are them for Franklin.
00:53:54Right.
00:53:55Okay, so pivoting to our second suspect, Mickey,
00:53:59who was studying how to cut a carotid artery.
00:54:02What if he was still in love with Ainsley the same way that Franklin is still in love with you?
00:54:08Ainsley threatens divorce.
00:54:09Mickey goes to Ainsley, professes his love.
00:54:11But she rejects him and he kills her.
00:54:14Extreme, but possible.
00:54:16We also need to know what he's owed.
00:54:17Oh, definitely.
00:54:19And Spencer, who is clear on his dislike of Ainsley, is our third suspect.
00:54:22And fourth suspect is obviously Simmons.
00:54:27He was being paid by Ainsley to help her cheat.
00:54:33Maybe she didn't pay him the second half after everything blew up and he killed her for the money.
00:54:39That's a big maybe.
00:54:40We also know he was in his room from midnight until 2am.
00:54:43Speaking of which, did I tell you I fell asleep crazy fast last night?
00:54:48Apparently Jason did too, so he's running toxicology on the aperitif syndrome.
00:54:51Oh, and I also fell asleep uncommonly early, having drunk my aperitif.
00:54:55Really?
00:54:56Yes, what if this was the murderer putting the three investigative geniuses on the island out of commission
00:55:01so that the murder could be committed?
00:55:03Well, Jason needs to test my aperitif as well.
00:55:06Okay, well someone would have had to have stolen a passkey from housekeeping.
00:55:10That's hardly impossible.
00:55:11And gotten into our rooms yesterday evening to spike the drinks.
00:55:15Oh.
00:55:21Janie, Ray and I are ready to talk to you.
00:55:24Oh yes, of course.
00:55:25I'm making headway?
00:55:26And some.
00:55:27Anything you can share?
00:55:29Nothing I can share.
00:55:30Of course.
00:55:31I'm glad you all are doing this and not chasing people through the jungle.
00:55:35Janie thinks her drink might have been spiked too.
00:55:37The aperitif?
00:55:38Yes.
00:55:39We're testing the residue from all the glasses.
00:55:41Janie.
00:55:45You back him?
00:55:56Are you busy?
00:56:07Just get out of the bath.
00:56:09Come on in.
00:56:09I'll just pop to the loo while you get dressed.
00:56:13I'll just pop to the loo while you get dressed.
00:56:16All right.
00:56:16All right.
00:56:17All right.
00:56:17All right.
00:56:19All right.
00:56:51I'm coming.
00:57:04So, what's up?
00:57:06I was wondering if I could show you my favourite place on the island to look at the night sky.
00:57:10Yeah, sounds great.
00:57:14So, how did Mrs. Trask communicate with you prior to this weekend?
00:57:19Yeah, all via email, which made it much easier to appear incognito as Loretta Mabry, archaeologist from California.
00:57:30Do you like the accent?
00:57:31Impressive.
00:57:32Janie, in any of those communications, did Ainsley ask for an employee list?
00:57:37Yes, in fact, she did.
00:57:40Are you thinking that's how she got to Simmons?
00:57:42Yeah.
00:57:45She just said she had security concerns and that she was paying VIP prices, so I gave her the list.
00:57:51But, as I said to her, none of our employees have a criminal record.
00:57:55That is true, but we learned from Bennett that Simmons' sister is a single mother battling cancer.
00:58:01He started an online fundraising campaign for her about a month ago.
00:58:05So, that might be his motive for selling secrets to Ainsley?
00:58:09I believe it is.
00:58:10Well, suddenly I'm feeling terribly for Simmons.
00:58:24Wow.
00:58:25Lovely.
00:58:26It is lovely.
00:58:27Hard to believe this is where I found the corpse of Mystery Island's founder.
00:58:31Gosh, I mean, that must have been awful.
00:58:33Not my first time seeing a corpse.
00:58:36Right, of course.
00:58:38Well, today was my first day.
00:58:41Identifying her body.
00:58:45Why'd you bring me up here, Emmy?
00:58:48Emmy?
00:58:51You know, nobody's called me that since...
00:58:53Since you broke up our engagement?
00:58:57Are you trying to dodge the question?
00:59:00I brought you up here to what I thought you'd think was a decidedly romantic locale.
00:59:05But is, in fact, for me, something quite the opposite.
00:59:08Oh.
00:59:09Okay, so this is an object lesson in how incompatible we are.
00:59:13I said I didn't want you to come to Mystery Island.
00:59:19But a part of me did want to see you again because I wanted closure, and I wish you could
00:59:25admit that you need that too because you are not in love with me.
00:59:28Did you forget what I told you on the beach?
00:59:30No, and I'd like to know why that happened, but here's the thing.
00:59:35If you're so in love with me, why wait for your wife to bring you to my place of work and then make your move?
00:59:42Yeah.
00:59:44It's a good question, isn't it?
00:59:47I have a reply.
00:59:48I believe you wanted Ainsley to see you with me.
00:59:53I think you told her you were going for a walk on the beach.
00:59:56I think it might have been Ainsley who was no longer in love with you, who no longer adored you.
01:00:03I've been thinking a lot about our relationship, about why it remained transatlantic for so long.
01:00:13Our jobs?
01:00:14No, that's the surface answer.
01:00:16The deeper one is absence makes the heart grow fonder.
01:00:25So you're speaking in cliches now?
01:00:27There are any cliches because they're true.
01:00:30I think you liked the distance because it allowed me to keep adoring you, and you want to be adored, Franklin.
01:00:40Okay, Emmy.
01:00:42So tell me then.
01:00:46Did I kill Ainsley?
01:00:49I mean, that's the deeper reason why you brought me up here, isn't it?
01:00:53To press my buttons, see how I respond, see if I fit into your psychological profile for my wife's killer.
01:01:05Did you kill Ainsley?
01:01:07I loved Ainsley.
01:01:12And I believe...
01:01:16I'm still in love with you.
01:01:24You're right.
01:01:26I absolutely love to be adored.
01:01:31But I did not kill my wife.
01:01:35Do you believe me?
01:01:41No!
01:01:42Help!
01:01:47Help!
01:01:47Help me!
01:01:48Mr. Trask!
01:01:50Stop that!
01:01:50Spencer!
01:01:51Buddy, enough!
01:01:52Okay, okay, I'm good.
01:01:53Is he alright?
01:01:54I think not.
01:01:55He needs to go to the infirmary.
01:01:56What are you doing?
01:01:57What am I doing?
01:01:58This guy killed your wife!
01:02:00We don't know that.
01:02:01Yeah?
01:02:01Well, you also didn't know what I know.
01:02:03The rats always go back to their homes.
01:02:05So me and Patricia waited for him.
01:02:07He was trying to sneak back in.
01:02:08Is that true?
01:02:08Of course it is.
01:02:10Spencer doesn't lie.
01:02:11He grabbed him and told him to go confess to you for killing Ainsley.
01:02:15He said he didn't kill Ainsley.
01:02:16I was like, then why'd you go on the run?
01:02:18And then he actually tried to headbutt Spencer.
01:02:20We have security cameras in the dorm hallway.
01:02:23We know Simmons was in his room from midnight to two.
01:02:25Oh, he could have snuck back in that window.
01:02:27He's got a point.
01:02:28He does.
01:02:29But Spencer, not only are you a suspect, you were under arrest for assault.
01:02:33Are you joking?
01:02:34Patricia, I'm investigating a homicide and your husband is interfering with that investigation.
01:02:38Do I need to put these on you or you're coming peacefully with me back to the jail?
01:02:43Yeah, no need, man.
01:02:44Come on.
01:02:53I think Jason needs our help.
01:02:54We need to show him Mickey's book.
01:02:56Yeah.
01:02:57Well, be prepared to face his wrath when we tell him how he got it.
01:03:01Wrath I can handle.
01:03:03We need to solve this case before somebody else winds up dead.
01:03:20Hey.
01:03:23How's he doing?
01:03:24Stable, but not talking yet.
01:03:26What's up?
01:03:26Can we talk?
01:03:27Of course.
01:03:28I spoke with Franklin earlier.
01:03:33I wanted to see if I could get him to tell me the truth.
01:03:35About Ainsley or about you?
01:03:37Both.
01:03:38And about himself.
01:03:39How'd he do?
01:03:40Well, with most people, the tell that they're lying is a gesture of obfuscation.
01:03:45Yeah, playing with their hair, fidgeting.
01:03:48Exactly.
01:03:48But with Franklin, the tell that he's lying is he doesn't seem to be obfuscating at all.
01:03:52He just looks at you with the most penetrating gaze.
01:03:55So he's a sociopath?
01:03:57I don't think so, no.
01:03:58Just a man of profound conviction.
01:04:00And he did this penetrating gaze thing when he was telling you what?
01:04:04That he was in love with Ainsley.
01:04:06And with me.
01:04:07So you think?
01:04:09Franklin's always had one true love, himself.
01:04:12But I don't think he killed Ainsley.
01:04:14Who do you think did?
01:04:15Well, Janie thinks Mickey's a strong candidate.
01:04:18The knife he gave to forensics.
01:04:20How do you know about that?
01:04:23Uh, we saw him in the jungle meeting with Vivica.
01:04:27Amelia.
01:04:28We kept a safe distance, but they were arguing about something.
01:04:31What?
01:04:32Well, it was hard to hear.
01:04:33Because we were keeping a safe distance.
01:04:34But he did shout, I'm owed.
01:04:36And then he showed her this knife, which concerned me.
01:04:38So I followed him to the hut and I saw him turn it in.
01:04:41There was no blood on it, but we're having to check for DNA and prints.
01:04:44Okay.
01:04:45Well, he's also been reading this.
01:04:47And how did you come about this?
01:04:49Does that matter?
01:04:50For a chain of castedina trial, it certainly does.
01:04:52Well, we can discuss that later, but you see all the notations?
01:04:56Well, he's a school teacher.
01:04:58Maybe it's his first class.
01:04:59He teaches biology, not creative writing.
01:05:01And look at this passage.
01:05:03Cut their carotid artery as easy as slicing a lemon.
01:05:08Yeah.
01:05:09Oh, also, there's a prescription for Ainsley for Tamazapan,
01:05:12the sleeping medication, in Franklin's bathroom.
01:05:14Well, how do you...
01:05:16Well, I was using his bathroom and I searched his toiletries.
01:05:19It was definitely Ainsley's.
01:05:20Definitely.
01:05:21I'm thinking of our aperitifs.
01:05:23Yeah, me too.
01:05:24We'll know for a fact in the morning.
01:05:28What?
01:05:30Even when we're not working together, you deliver.
01:05:33Well, I do have Janie.
01:05:35She might be a bit of an investigative upgrade.
01:05:38Trying to make me jealous?
01:05:39Is it working?
01:05:40Really well.
01:05:49Em.
01:05:51Did you just call me Em?
01:05:53I did.
01:05:55Janie calls you that all the time.
01:05:56Is it a problem?
01:05:58Quite the contrary.
01:05:59Good.
01:06:00Yeah.
01:06:02So what is it?
01:06:03Oh, uh, Ray got back to me with the toxicology reports.
01:06:07Janie, you and I all had our aperitif spiked,
01:06:09which means you are no longer a suspect.
01:06:11And Frank is your prime suspect.
01:06:13I'll go fetch him.
01:06:14Meet me in the dining room.
01:06:15No one's in there right now.
01:06:20Have you had a breakthrough?
01:06:21Of sorts.
01:06:22Well, what's that mean?
01:06:24Have a seat.
01:06:25I'm fine standing.
01:06:27Sit down.
01:06:28Are you...
01:06:31Dr. Priestley's consulting on the case.
01:06:35Okay, then.
01:06:36So what's this about?
01:06:39These sleeping pills prescribed your wife
01:06:42were not found with her things in her room.
01:06:44They were found in your dop kit in your room.
01:06:47You were spying on me.
01:06:48Franklin, I want to catch your wife's killer.
01:06:50And you think it's me?
01:06:51Why were these in your room?
01:06:52What does it matter?
01:06:54Ainsley didn't die from an overdose of sleeping pills.
01:06:56It's interesting that you're not answering my question.
01:06:59What do those pills have to do with their murder?
01:07:01Answer the question, Franklin.
01:07:03Actually, I don't think I will.
01:07:06I think I'm going back to my room.
01:07:08I want your outside landline
01:07:09so I can call my lawyer and a pilot to my plane.
01:07:12Franklin.
01:07:13You've been manipulating me since I got here.
01:07:15That's projection.
01:07:17This is not the behavior of an innocent man.
01:07:19It's the behavior of an annoyed man.
01:07:22Now, I'm going to talk to Vivica,
01:07:23and we're going to hire the best private detectives in New York
01:07:26to come down here and do your job for you.
01:07:29They'll be here tomorrow,
01:07:30along with my lawyers,
01:07:31who will have my brother released.
01:07:34I am done cooperating.
01:07:38I don't know, Colin.
01:07:39I'd better call Ray and let him know what happened.
01:07:41I doubt the others will talk to us now, either.
01:07:43Mickey might.
01:07:45We just have to get him alone.
01:07:46Now.
01:07:47And do what?
01:07:48Employ a psychological technique
01:07:49to get him to tell us about what he's owed.
01:07:51What is this psychological technique?
01:07:53It's called bluffing.
01:08:02Has something happened?
01:08:03Why?
01:08:04Franklin just charged into the game room,
01:08:06grabbed Vivica, and left.
01:08:08The investigation may have taken a turn.
01:08:10Is Mickey with them?
01:08:11He's still in there with Patricia.
01:08:13I don't feel like being accosted about Spencer.
01:08:15Could you grab him for us, Bennett?
01:08:16Yes, right away.
01:08:17So, how do we bluff?
01:08:21I had a thought.
01:08:22Would you like to share it before he...
01:08:23Mickey!
01:08:25Um, would you like to take a stroll with us?
01:08:28Um...
01:08:29Let's go this way.
01:08:31So, I'm supporting Detective Trent
01:08:33in his investigation now.
01:08:35Oh, that's good?
01:08:36Yes, it is.
01:08:38And I just wanted to tell you
01:08:39that I'm sympathetic to what you're going through.
01:08:42Not just for the loss of Ainsley,
01:08:44but also for Vivica betraying your trust.
01:08:48She told you?
01:08:50Hmm.
01:08:51And she seemed quite upset
01:08:52because according to her,
01:08:53it was all your idea.
01:08:56That's a lie.
01:08:57Vivica approached me.
01:08:59Well, you know,
01:09:01she thinks you believe she owes you.
01:09:03Because she does?
01:09:05Okay?
01:09:05Maybe to her,
01:09:06to all these people,
01:09:07it's not a lot of money,
01:09:08but to me it is.
01:09:09She said ten?
01:09:10Ten?
01:09:10No, it's 25 grand
01:09:11and I can prove that
01:09:13we have a contract.
01:09:15Did you remind her of that contract?
01:09:17She said it's not valid
01:09:18because I didn't get Ainsley
01:09:20to fall in love with me.
01:09:24Right.
01:09:25You know,
01:09:26Vivica didn't actually tell us
01:09:27why she wanted Ainsley
01:09:28to fall in love with you.
01:09:30Because Vivica's in love with Franklin.
01:09:34You can't make me go.
01:09:36We cannot go.
01:09:37Let me go.
01:09:38Calm down.
01:09:39What is happening?
01:09:40These heartless monsters
01:09:41want to go back to New York
01:09:42and leave Spencer in your jail.
01:09:44We're sending lawyers down.
01:09:45You think you can buy
01:09:46your way out of anything?
01:09:47Stop.
01:09:48We may not be pressing charges.
01:09:50When I left Simmons,
01:09:51he was stable.
01:09:52Bennett, how is he now?
01:09:53He's much better.
01:09:54He's managed a few words,
01:09:55but the nurse says
01:09:55he needs to rest a bit more.
01:09:56That's good news.
01:09:57When can I see him?
01:09:58I'd say in an hour.
01:09:59I'll have a conversation with him,
01:10:00which will quite possibly result
01:10:02in Spencer being released.
01:10:03Franklin, we have to stay.
01:10:05You have one hour.
01:10:06Jason and I were hoping
01:10:13to talk to you
01:10:14about your contract with Mickey.
01:10:18You told him about our contract?
01:10:22You told him about our contract.
01:10:24Oh, Mickey.
01:10:26Yes, let's chat.
01:10:28Yes.
01:10:37The contract was for Mickey
01:10:40to get Ainsley to fall in love with him.
01:10:42He got $25,000 on signing
01:10:45and would receive the second half
01:10:47when Ainsley left Franklin.
01:10:49Yesterday, you told me
01:10:51you and Ainsley were friends.
01:10:53We are.
01:10:54Were.
01:10:55That's how I knew about Mickey.
01:10:58And you didn't think
01:10:58to tell me about this contract?
01:11:00It has no relevance
01:11:01to Ainsley's murder.
01:11:02That is for me to decide.
01:11:06It's obviously...
01:11:08It's quite embarrassing.
01:11:10You really did all this
01:11:11because you're in love with Franklin?
01:11:14Mickey told you everything.
01:11:17It's quite ironic
01:11:18I'm speaking to you about this
01:11:19who threw away
01:11:20the most wonderful man in the world.
01:11:22And still, he travels thousands of miles
01:11:24just to see you again.
01:11:27I've seen the way you two
01:11:28look at each other.
01:11:30Don't tell me you don't know
01:11:31what it's like
01:11:32to be attracted to a work colleague.
01:11:35And then, Amelia,
01:11:35imagine Detective Trent here.
01:11:37He...
01:11:37He gets married to someone
01:11:39you think is impressive
01:11:41and likable.
01:11:44But she's not you, is she?
01:11:46And then, imagine you find a way
01:11:49to just change things.
01:11:51Murder would also be a way
01:11:53to do that.
01:11:55Of course it would.
01:11:57But then why would I bother
01:11:58to sign a contract with Mickey?
01:12:01And anyway, I didn't need Mickey
01:12:03to get Ainsley to leave Franklin.
01:12:08I needed you.
01:12:11Now, if that is all,
01:12:12I have some calls to make
01:12:14on the landline
01:12:14regarding private detectives
01:12:16we're hiring.
01:12:17Of course.
01:12:27Hard to argue that
01:12:28if she wanted Ainsley
01:12:29to leave Franklin...
01:12:30She had no motive for murder.
01:12:32Janie and I both noticed
01:12:33her being quite touchy-feely
01:12:34with him.
01:12:35Yeah, in tracks,
01:12:36but I don't know,
01:12:36these people are...
01:12:37Twisted?
01:12:39Yeah.
01:12:41That was clever what she did
01:12:42trying to turn it around on us.
01:12:43Very clever.
01:12:45And she's not wrong.
01:12:47If you got engaged again,
01:12:49I...
01:12:49might try to end it.
01:12:53Doctor's given the all clear.
01:12:54You can see Simmons now.
01:13:02Hey.
01:13:05I was just telling Simmons
01:13:06that we know what he did
01:13:07for his sister.
01:13:08Hold on, Janie.
01:13:11Simmons, you need to tell us
01:13:12what you did.
01:13:13I gave Ainsley to ask
01:13:16the answer to the game
01:13:17you guys wrote
01:13:18in exchange for $100,000.
01:13:21To pay his sister's medical bills.
01:13:23Which, Simmons,
01:13:24you really should have
01:13:25come to us about that.
01:13:26I appreciate that,
01:13:27but Jason, I swear,
01:13:29I had nothing to do with her murder.
01:13:32When's the last time
01:13:33you were with Ainsley?
01:13:36Before dinner.
01:13:37Friday.
01:13:39She gave me the money
01:13:40and the pills.
01:13:41Pills?
01:13:41Did Ainsley have you drug
01:13:44the aperitifs
01:13:44in our three rooms?
01:13:47I put the pills
01:13:48in everyone's drinks.
01:13:51Well,
01:13:53everyone except Ainsley
01:13:54and
01:13:54someone else.
01:13:56We're closing in
01:14:09on an hour.
01:14:10I'm aware of that,
01:14:11Mr. Trask.
01:14:12They're just tying up
01:14:13some loose ends.
01:14:14All right, then.
01:14:14We'll be leaving in two minutes
01:14:15and we'll be heading down
01:14:16to the dock.
01:14:16Without Spencer?
01:14:17Patricia,
01:14:18we agreed an hour.
01:14:20And Spencer has no one else
01:14:21to blame but himself.
01:14:22Patricia!
01:14:23Patricia!
01:14:24Spencer!
01:14:24Hey, honey.
01:14:27Oh, did you miss me?
01:14:29Yeah.
01:14:31Hey, great news.
01:14:32They've decided not
01:14:33to press charges.
01:14:34Terrific.
01:14:35We're going now.
01:14:38Hey, Frankie,
01:14:39hold up.
01:14:41Simmons.
01:14:43Look, I, uh...
01:14:45I'm real sorry
01:14:47for losing my temper.
01:14:48I guess we both
01:14:49made mistakes.
01:14:49It takes a big man
01:14:51to admit that.
01:14:53Tough one, too.
01:14:54I gotta tell you,
01:14:54I hurt my hand there.
01:14:55You're made of steel.
01:14:56I appreciate that.
01:14:57That's very gracious,
01:14:58Simmons.
01:14:59I'm glad you're okay.
01:15:00Now,
01:15:01we are leaving.
01:15:02We are leaving.
01:15:11Don't go, Franklin.
01:15:12Not until we've told you
01:15:14who the murderer is.
01:15:19Is this some stall tactic?
01:15:24Not at all.
01:15:25And I promise if you stay,
01:15:27you'll get your money's worth.
01:15:28Yeah, because that's what
01:15:29this whole weekend
01:15:29has been about, after all.
01:15:31Not love.
01:15:33Money.
01:15:34Franklin,
01:15:35this really isn't worth your time.
01:15:36We need to...
01:15:37Hang on, dear.
01:15:39Emmy, what do you mean
01:15:39this weekend's been about money?
01:15:41Janie?
01:15:43Right.
01:15:44Well, as you know,
01:15:45Ainsley reached out to me
01:15:46with a plan for you all
01:15:47to come down here.
01:15:48Now, the one requirement
01:15:49was that Amelia be on site
01:15:51and included.
01:15:52So it seemed obvious
01:15:54that Ainsley wanted you,
01:15:55Franklin,
01:15:55to be reconnected
01:15:56with your former love
01:15:57to ensure
01:15:58that you weren't still
01:15:59holding a flame for her.
01:16:01And when Ainsley won
01:16:02the game by cheating,
01:16:03this seemed it was to prove
01:16:04to you that she,
01:16:05your current love,
01:16:06was better than me.
01:16:07We thought maybe
01:16:08a flame had been rekindled
01:16:10between Ainsley
01:16:10and her high school
01:16:11sweetheart, Mickey.
01:16:12But then we learned
01:16:13that Mickey had been hired
01:16:14by Vivica
01:16:14to woo Ainsley
01:16:15away from you
01:16:16because,
01:16:17according to Vivica,
01:16:18she's in love with you.
01:16:21Whoa.
01:16:22Excuse me?
01:16:25Viv, is this...
01:16:26Not how I wanted you
01:16:27to learn it, Franklin.
01:16:29So it's true?
01:16:31Mickey?
01:16:32Yeah, it's true.
01:16:38Franklin, I'd really
01:16:39rather prefer
01:16:40to discuss this
01:16:41and fight home.
01:16:41We'll get there.
01:16:43Believe me.
01:16:44Continue, please.
01:16:47Love is obviously
01:16:48one of the biggest
01:16:49motives for murder,
01:16:50but when we questioned
01:16:51Vivica, she
01:16:52abdly disproved
01:16:53that she could have
01:16:54killed Ainsley.
01:16:54I'm glad you agree.
01:16:57And you were so close.
01:16:59She gave you
01:16:59that complimentary nickname,
01:17:01money.
01:17:02And money is the
01:17:03other top motive
01:17:03for murder,
01:17:04so what if that was
01:17:05the motive for Ainsley's murder?
01:17:06Not the $50,000
01:17:08that Vivica was paying Mickey.
01:17:09Or the $100,000
01:17:10Ainsley paid Simmon.
01:17:12I mean, to most of you,
01:17:12those numbers
01:17:13are just rounding errors.
01:17:15But to commit murder,
01:17:17there needed to be
01:17:17a much bigger prize
01:17:18at the end.
01:17:19Yeah.
01:17:21Like Trask Global.
01:17:23My company.
01:17:25Do you remember
01:17:26what Ainsley said
01:17:27about our fictitious
01:17:28gold smuggler?
01:17:29If you're going to
01:17:29rob someone,
01:17:30don't do it a bit
01:17:31at a time.
01:17:32Don't you agree, money?
01:17:37Ainsley was right.
01:17:38The character I was playing
01:17:40would have been smart
01:17:40to find a way
01:17:41to take all the money
01:17:42in one fell swoop.
01:17:43Which is what
01:17:44would have happened
01:17:44if someone had forced
01:17:45Franklin out of his own
01:17:47company and taken
01:17:48control of Trask Global
01:17:49for over a billion dollars.
01:17:51Hey, whoa, Frankie,
01:17:52I swear I did not
01:17:53try to do that.
01:17:53Even if Spencer
01:17:54had been angling
01:17:55to take over Franklin's
01:17:56company months ago...
01:17:57Uh-uh, Spencer wasn't.
01:17:58We know he didn't
01:17:59kill Ainsley.
01:18:01He was fast asleep.
01:18:02Where were you
01:18:02between midnight
01:18:03and 2 a.m.?
01:18:04Passed out.
01:18:06Me and Patricia both.
01:18:07In fact,
01:18:09many people had a hard
01:18:10time staying awake
01:18:11that night,
01:18:11including Jason,
01:18:12Janie, and myself.
01:18:14Because they were
01:18:14drugged with
01:18:15Tamazepam.
01:18:17Toxicology confirmed it.
01:18:18Naturally,
01:18:19we thought the killer
01:18:19drugged us
01:18:20to keep us out of the way
01:18:21so the murder
01:18:22could be committed.
01:18:22But in quite a stunning twist,
01:18:24it wasn't the killer
01:18:24who drugged us,
01:18:25it was the murder victim.
01:18:26Which the killer
01:18:27wouldn't have known,
01:18:28of course.
01:18:29And Simmons clarified
01:18:29that Ainsley didn't
01:18:30just pay him
01:18:31to give away
01:18:31the plot of the game.
01:18:33She paid him
01:18:33to drug all the drinks
01:18:34in our room.
01:18:35All of them,
01:18:36but one person's.
01:18:39Vivica.
01:18:40Are you serious?
01:18:45Yeah,
01:18:46they're serious.
01:18:47Ainsley had me
01:18:48drug all the drinks
01:18:50except for hers
01:18:51and yours.
01:18:53Well, I don't see
01:18:54how this matters.
01:18:55It matters
01:18:56because it means
01:18:56that Ainsley
01:18:57was planning on
01:18:57meeting with you
01:18:58after midnight
01:18:58when Bennett,
01:18:59Simmons and the rest
01:19:00of the staff
01:19:00were in their rooms
01:19:01and when all the guests
01:19:02were sleeping
01:19:02a deep, deep sleep.
01:19:04I was sleeping too.
01:19:05Simmons has no motive
01:19:07for lying.
01:19:08While we were at dinner,
01:19:09he drugged everyone's
01:19:09apartheid,
01:19:10then put the Tamazepam
01:19:11back into Franklin
01:19:13and Ainsley's room.
01:19:14Before their fight
01:19:14and before Ainsley
01:19:15moved rooms.
01:19:16But he mistakenly
01:19:17put the pill bottle
01:19:18back in Franklin's
01:19:19doggy.
01:19:19Ainsley had Simmons
01:19:21do this
01:19:21because she wanted
01:19:23complete privacy
01:19:24when she presented
01:19:25you with a contract
01:19:26that would pay her
01:19:27what we can only imagine
01:19:28is a very large sum
01:19:30of money for her vote.
01:19:31You weren't in love
01:19:32with Franklin.
01:19:33You wanted to take
01:19:35over his company.
01:19:36And you spent months
01:19:38wooing board members
01:19:39away from Franklin.
01:19:40And then you got rid
01:19:41of Spencer and pinned
01:19:42that on Ainsley.
01:19:43This is an absurd fantasy.
01:19:45But it isn't though.
01:19:46Don't you remember
01:19:47my second cousin
01:19:48is on your board,
01:19:49Piper Plunkett?
01:19:50She just told me
01:19:51all this on the phone
01:19:51before I walked in here.
01:19:53You needed one more vote
01:19:54to force Franklin out.
01:19:55You tried to hire Mickey
01:19:56to get leverage over Ainsley
01:19:57but that failed.
01:19:58Ainsley didn't love Mickey.
01:20:01Ainsley didn't love Franklin
01:20:02either.
01:20:02Ainsley loved money.
01:20:04And once you understood
01:20:05that you knew what to do.
01:20:07But then something
01:20:08must have happened.
01:20:09Did Ainsley change the deal
01:20:11at the last minute?
01:20:12Did she want more money
01:20:13than money was willing to pay?
01:20:15And if money didn't pay
01:20:16Ainsley would simply
01:20:17tell Franklin
01:20:17what money had been up to.
01:20:18Ainsley out-negotiated money.
01:20:21That's what Ainsley
01:20:22was trying to write.
01:20:23It's not an S.
01:20:24It's the beginnings
01:20:24of a dollar sign.
01:20:25Ainsley was trying
01:20:26to tell us
01:20:27that her killer
01:20:28was money.
01:20:29This is more fantastical
01:20:30than one of your
01:20:30mystery game plots.
01:20:32A brilliant woman
01:20:32like Ainsley
01:20:33would have taken payment
01:20:34with a cashier's check
01:20:35for maximum secrecy.
01:20:37Unlike a wire transfer,
01:20:38cashier checks
01:20:38leave no digital trace.
01:20:40Give me the check.
01:20:41Give me the check.
01:20:44Ten million dollars
01:21:07made out to Ainsley Trask.
01:21:08Oh.
01:21:11And endorsed back to you
01:21:12with what I can only expect
01:21:14is Ainsley's forged signature.
01:21:17Vivica Bentley,
01:21:18you are under arrest
01:21:19for the murder
01:21:20of Ainsley Trask.
01:21:21Listen, please accept
01:21:39my apology for my behavior.
01:21:41You got as twisted
01:21:42as we did
01:21:43with Vivica's lies.
01:21:45Thanks for that.
01:21:46And for all you did.
01:21:47Just doing our job.
01:21:49I hope it's not
01:21:50another seven years
01:21:51until I see you again.
01:21:53Our paths may cross
01:21:54at Vivica's trial.
01:21:56Take care of yourself, Emmy.
01:22:05Well, I realize
01:22:07the three of you
01:22:07have been through this before,
01:22:09but an actual murder
01:22:10in the midst
01:22:11of fictitious ones.
01:22:13If you need a couple of days
01:22:14to recover, Bennett...
01:22:15Oh, no.
01:22:16Quite the contrary.
01:22:18I am extremely
01:22:20proud to be
01:22:20in the company
01:22:21of three such
01:22:22brilliant investigative minds.
01:22:27Why don't we all
01:22:28have a bottle of champagne?
01:22:30Oh, why not?
01:22:32Amelia and I will
01:22:33join you on the veranda shortly.
01:22:36Oh, all right.
01:22:37Finish, shall we?
01:22:38Oh, Baroness, after you.
01:22:42What is it?
01:22:43I just wanted to say
01:22:44that you handled Franklin
01:22:46really well.
01:22:47Oh, as did you.
01:22:48I was impressed
01:22:49you made it through
01:22:49without smacking him.
01:22:51Oh, I was tempted.
01:22:52I'm sure you were, too.
01:22:54I believe I have the right
01:22:55to remain silent
01:22:56on that detective.
01:22:59Jason.
01:23:00Em?
01:23:01Earlier in the library
01:23:02when you said...
01:23:03That if you got engaged again,
01:23:04I would try to stop it?
01:23:05Did you want to say why?
01:23:07You're the psychiatrist.
01:23:08I'm sure you'll figure it out.
01:23:09I'm sure you'll figure it out.
01:23:39I'm sure you'll figure it out.
