00:00Okay, so where are we getting the first question from?
00:05First question here. Hey guys, Shravan here, on your left. Love the trailer.
00:11Congratulations to the entire team. I have two questions, one to Karan and one to Karthik.
00:15I'm going to begin with Karan first. Karan, you just spoke about Bahubali.
00:19Okay, it's been over a decade you've been supporting films from the south.
00:23Is there ever a fear that hey, what if this film or this project does not fly?
00:30Is there ever a fear when you pick a film that hey, what if this project does not fly?
00:36But that risk, Shravan, is with any feature film that you make.
00:41Like I said right at the top of this conversation that we're here to be passionate, we sell stories,
00:47we want to kind of move, you know, the needle where it comes to pushing Indian cinema
00:52and taking it to the global arenas of cinematic audiences.
00:56The thing is, if anyone ever focuses on just the result, we'll never be able to create.
01:02I think the greatest films made in the world have always started with a great idea,
01:08with passion, with conviction and then execution.
01:11The rest is really left up to the audiences.
01:14I have never ever made a feature film with a number in my mind that this is my target.
01:18This is what I want.
01:20Because every time you have done that, that film has failed.
01:23Because those are projects, those are not films.
01:25And Mirai is a bonafide motion picture.
01:28It's made from the strength of its conviction.
01:30It's made from the strength of its passion.
01:33And really there's never an end result to passion.
01:36Passion is limitless.
01:38Makes sense.
01:39Also, whenever you don a director's hat, we as audience, we love to see that.
01:44Okay.
01:45Do we see you diving into the world of our history, our ancient scriptures?
01:51Well, absolutely.
01:52And it's been, in fact, I was on the onset of making a feature film that was a period historical.
01:57And then for various circumstances, including the pandemic, you know, there was a stop on that film.
02:03I had researched that film for two and a half years and wrote that film, Sumit Roy, the screenplay wrote it.
02:08And like, it was just very heartbreaking when I couldn't make it at that time.
02:11So I did dabble.
02:12I think, I think film ka ek wakt hota hai, you know, aur ek nasib bhi hoti hai ke when you can tell that story.
02:19So hopefully, in my trajectory, I'm still very young.
02:22Absolutely.
02:23That was a joke.
02:25But eventually, eventually, maybe in my trajectory, there will be such a film.
02:31Though, I firmly believe the kind of, I think, technical finesse, the kind of passion to tell
02:40a story of this magnitude is something I'm not even sure I'm capable of.
02:45When I see filmmakers like Kartik tell these stories, I feel like I'm a student more than a filmmaker,
02:51and I'm learning.
02:52So when I watch the brilliance of Bahubali, and when I see the passion and conviction of Mirai,
02:57to me, I'm like, I don't know if I'm capable.
03:00And it's always better to kind of acknowledge your weaknesses and not pretend it's your strength.
03:06This may not be my strength, but it's definitely this young lad's strength.
03:10More power to you.
03:11Kartik, coming to you, the VFX of the film looks great.
03:14And I know for a fact that when you plan a film like this, there's a lot of time that goes in pre-production of the film.
03:20What was the pre-production time that you took for Mirai?
03:25It was two years plus.
03:28So mostly I think it is more to go with the writing because it's good now.
03:35Yeah, better.
03:36Yeah, I think most of the VFX comes from the writing.
03:39So writing took two years.
03:42While the writing was happening, the prep was also happening.
03:45So it came from there, so.
03:48Thank you so much, guys.
03:53Hi, my question is for Apoorva.
03:55Hi, here.
03:57Hi, this is Alice Kara-Peter from Mamarazi.
04:00My question is for Apoorva.
04:02We've seen, we just heard Karan speak at length about Mirai and how excited he is for this project.
04:08Just want to know from you, what is this one factor that got you excited about Mirai?
04:13You know, we are very, very excited because you see how amazing the visuals are.
04:18I mean, it's not every day you get to see a film that mixes mythology, futurist, the future, plus performances, plus scale.
04:25So it's so amazingly made.
04:27I mean, for us, what really excited us is that we really believe this is the kind of film that can connect it with audiences across the country.
04:35It's not only the South, but also the North.
04:38And I think it's, from what you've seen and you will agree with me, that this is an experience that has to be seen in the big screen.
04:43And we are again very, very thankful to them for giving us this opportunity to bring this film to the Hindi audiences.
04:51Hi Karan sir.
04:52Harshita Desaid from Bollywood Bubble.
04:54Hi.
04:55This is my question to you.
04:56If you're talking about it, about it, about it, about it, about it, about it, about it, about it, about it, about it, about it, about it, about it, about it, about it, about it.
05:02Harshita Desaid from Bollywood Bubble.
05:03How many people are connected to our Quranic ideas?
05:05How many people are connected to our Quranic ideas?
05:06And how many people are connected to this thing?
05:08Look, we have been growing up in this country.
05:11And from the school, we have been listening to our Quranic ideas.
05:15We have been listening to our Quranic ideas.
05:18My grandfather was living in Delhi.
05:21When I went to Delhi for summer vacation,
05:24I was being protifat.
05:25How many people have lived to them to my doctor?
05:31It often seems to your mother,
05:35this is very wild
05:39My parents here were
05:53I was so connected to cinema, so I wasn't connected to cinema,
05:59but the cultural aspect of it was also connected to cinema.
06:04So while my kids were reading comics, whether they were Tintin or Archies,
06:08I was actually a very interesting person.
06:10So I was always intrigued by the 5,000 years ago
06:15that happened in our situation.
06:18There were so many deeply rooted stories.
06:20So those stories, we started to get into the story of this story.
06:25So, we started to get to the story of this story of the cinema,
06:30and that we have to be able to get to the cinema,
06:35so we have to get into the story.
06:38So we have to be able to make the story of the cinema.
06:41But when we get our company here, we will be able to get that film with very hard work.
06:48Yes, my question is connected to this film.
06:50If we talk about this film,
06:52this subject is historical, mythological, and it has been blended well into fantasy.
07:01So, the story of the film is very important to you.
07:04And everyone says that this film will be a very good film.
07:09But your responsibility is that pan-India, or the whole country, has a lot of money.
07:16So, the story of this film, its direction,
07:19you think it will be more impressed by people?
07:23Or Teja, who was very famous for the first time,
07:28in the film.
07:30So, which factor you think will have more impact on the film?
07:35Dekhye, actually, Teja's work we have seen in Hanuman,
07:40and which we have done in the film,
07:42in the country, in the country, in the country, in the country,
07:44many people have suffered.
07:45And their knowledge has gone far and far.
07:48But I just want to say that I always say that
07:52that we have experienced,
07:53that there are many superstars,
07:54and Teja, such a massive movie star.
07:56And there are so many people in the country.
07:57And they are so much and so much,
07:58and so much love.
07:59But I always say that,
08:01whether it be Nirdeshak or Nirmata or superstar,
08:04even though it is the first film and the first film,
08:07the first film is the first film.
08:09The second film is the second film,
08:11so the second film is the second film.
08:13connect HOTI, HUM NEH ABHI HUM NEH DECHA HUMARES SINEMA MEN, ABHI IS SAAL DONE NAY, DONE NAY
08:19UBHRTAY SITARO NEH IS SAAL KI SAB SI BADY HIT DI HINDY MEH, SIYARAH MEN, GORH
08:24SUPERSTARS NAHIN THEH, ABHI SUPERSTARS BAN GAYE HINDI MEH, LAKIN US FILM KI JOO OPENING
08:29LAGY TOO MUJHE PATA CHALA KI FILM SAB SE A GAY HINDI SAB SE A GAY HINDI SAB SE A GAY
08:33HINDI SAB SE A GAY HINDI SAB SE A GAY HINDI SAB SE A GAY HINDI SAB SE A GAY HINDI SAB SE A GAY

09:04olipode na mon adversaire, MY WANDA NEINCAH A GAY HINDI SAB SE A GAY HINDI SU IS
09:07everything else. So, there are two aspects of my mission too. One is their stardom, their passion and the film is Karthik's vision and this film is Vishwa sir's backing. I think this is a combination of everything.
09:19Teja sir, same Harshita from Bollywood, this side.
09:24Sir, I would like to know that you have done a movie before Hanumana, now Ram Ji is also showing us here. So, do you have more connected to the dharmic things or do you think this is for the dharmic movies?
09:44I think, definitely I am connected to Ikea Hazard, not just me. All of us who have,
09:53all of us over here are connected to Itihasa's, not just in Hanuman and Mirai, my previous films also if you watch, they have a little bit of our Itihasa's connection to it.
10:06Whenever there is a chance, yeah, I try to, we are very excited and happy and we take pride in it to bring out that element in our films, yeah.
10:18Hello, hi Mr. Director, I mean Karthik. I just, I am very curious about this, ki Mirai ka matlab kya hai?
10:27Mirai actually means future, but we gave it a very fictional sound to it. It has a different meaning in the film. So, you will see the context of it. So, you will see the film.
10:40I am not mistaken. I think you, this is your third film, right? Yes. And then, where do you watch future?
10:46Do you want to live in Hindi film industry or Hollywood? Oh, I have no idea. I would just want to make films. So, wherever it is. Thank you.
10:57Hi, my name is Dipesh Pandya Dainik Jagran. My question is from Teja.
11:01Sir, tell me.
11:02Being an actor, when you do a film for a film, it also has a personal preparation.
11:08Like this, first of all, when you have done Hanuman, there will be a lot of preparation about Hanumanji.
11:13This film is predominantly an action adventure. It has a lot of fantasy, emotion and it's about a boy's journey, who starts off from nowhere and realizes his dharma and how it is.
11:42His dharma and how he stops the catastrophe from happening. That is the film about. So, there was not much need about research and I don't need to do any research about it. If you are referring to our dharmas, I don't need to do any research about it. We grew up on it and we all know about it.
12:01Second question, Karan sir will remain with you.
12:04Now, after watching the trailer, you have said that, when will we make such a film, when will we make such a film? And you are in that position. And my question is that, when will we make such a film?
12:19What will we make such a film as much as it's ours? Now it is Karan sir's also. So, this is, you all own this film. You have welcomed me for Hanuman with your open arms. So, this is, for all the Hindi audience out there, we take Hindi language release very seriously. It not only about the dubbing, we also make sure that it feels like it is
12:49like an authentic Hindi film. And so, we are promoting here and Karan sir is here because of our sincerity towards Hindi language. So, it is your film also. It's not a film just coming from south.
13:03Karan sir, would you like to join us in this?
13:05Say it.
13:07Say it, no? Just say it.
13:10Sir, why are people trying to put you in spots, sir?
13:14Say it always. That's what you said in the beginning. You are scared. You are always worried about the media and now you know why we have to worry. No, no, but they are always very kind. They are always very kind. And I feel like, like, of course,
13:26it's our ambition to make feature films like this and what we call like quintessential tentpole films that have something interesting and exciting that dabble into the world of our civilization, our deep rooted culture.
13:37So, our endeavor with Brahmastra was that and we hope to make several, several films in that zone and we are producing several films and we hopefully will have multitude of filmmakers like Karthik in Hindi cinema as well who will put their hearts and heads online just to tell a story.
13:58Hello, this is Srijita from Filmfare. Hi. My question is for the director and the producer. First of all, congratulations. The trailer looks amazing. So what was the most challenging part for you? The storytelling part of it or the technical aspect of it? Because mounting something like this is not easy.
14:15So for us, it was never an exhausting thing because we always felt we were driven towards it from the right from the beginning. So we never felt that exhaustion. Just this last 10 days is where we feeling that exhaustion just maybe because of the anxiety of how it will reach. That's all.
14:40Yeah. So typically you can say challenge is an opportunity. So we, like I said, we want to make a pan global franchise with Mirai. Again, we are ambitious and concerned with the resources. So to make a, like the pan global you call the movies in the scale of avatar which are done in billions of dollars.
15:08So definitely we cannot have the resources like that. So then, then comes like a, how do you work on it? So then comes the teamwork and the director's vision, significant commitment from various actors, several technicians, different phases of the project.
15:27We ran through the COVID period too. So, and then how do we present film to the audience. So we feel we did quite well and we hope everyone will receive it well and we can see the success. Thank you.
15:45Hello, sir. This side. Hello, sir. This side.
15:50Hello, sir. This side.
15:56My name is Shaijid from Sid Cinema.
16:00First of all, the trailer looks good, amazing.
16:03It's a very good trailer visually-wise.
16:06Before we start, Teja Sajah sir, I think it was released in January 2014, I think it was released in January 2014.
16:14I saw the first day first day in the Galaxy Galaxy.
16:16And it was so good, meaning it was a good cinema in the low budget.
16:21So, will this happen or do you try something different from it?
16:27Yes.
16:28Yes.
16:29Passion is the same, sir.
16:34Okay.
16:35Hard work is the same.
16:36Effort is the same.
16:37We have put in a lot of effort.
16:38I don't want to compare any film with another film.
16:53But all I can say is, Mira is going to be an experience for you all.
16:57As you said, please go to theatre again in Galaxy on September 12th.
17:01It was January 12th.
17:02It was September 12th.
17:04This time you go, you will get an experience.
17:07But this time, you will take the whole family of your family, sir.
17:14We have made a very clean film.
17:16You will feel very good to the whole family, your children and parents.
17:22My next question is from Karan, sir and director, sir.
17:27Like, Karan, sir has presented to Bahubali here.
17:31Laksh, sir, has presented to you in the film.
17:33Newcomers can give more chance for newcomers.
17:36So, what's in our Indian film industry, sir?
17:39What's in our industry, sir?
17:40Like in the Bollywood industry, it's been made of big budgets.
17:44But in the box office, everyone has seen the collection.
17:49So, what do you think?
17:51What do you think I think?
17:52We've seen such films on such limited budget,
17:54and the people attract are performing.
17:55We've seen a lot of films in the film.
17:58We've seen many films in the recent time,
18:00and then the famous Captain Narsimha came.
18:03Now, many of these are visually-wise good.
18:05So, what do you think?
18:06The production value is increasing,
18:08or the pay of actors is increasing?
18:10The budget is increasing,
18:12but the film is not being able to do.
18:14There is nothing like this.
18:17Every film is a good thing.
18:20Every film is a good thing.
18:22There are many stars and actors.
18:27And that film is a good thing.
18:29So, there is nothing like that.
18:31And all actors are now thinking that they have to contribute to the film's vision.
18:36And they are doing their deal separately.
18:38Everybody is becoming understanding of our times.
18:40So, there is nothing like this.
18:42We cannot put it in one box.
18:44That you have taken the young actors and your vision is bigger.
18:47So, that film will come out.
18:49So, there is a lot of things happening.
18:51And there is a lot of things happening.
18:53And there is a lot of things happening.
18:55So, there is nothing like this.
18:58Every time, every film is happening.
19:00Every experience is different.
19:02We have seen many films in the year.
19:05Which really changes our narrative.
19:08And there are many films with newcomers.
19:10And there are musicals.
19:11It is not that all films will become the right.
19:13It is not that all films will become the right.
19:14It is not that.
19:15There are many animations films.
19:17It is not that all the results will be the right.
19:21There is no rule.
19:22The box office has no rules.
19:26You have to create stories.
19:28Tell different stories.
19:29And then, the film becomes like Teja said.
19:32This film is your film.
19:33You will tag that you have to give this picture.
19:35You have to give this picture.
19:36You have to give love.
19:37You have to give a lot of love.
19:38You have to give a lot of love.
19:39These are all audiences.
19:40As they say, consumer is Kim for us.
19:42Audience is God.
19:43They will decide.
19:44He said it ladies and gentlemen.
19:46We will take two more questions.
19:47Okay.
19:48Hello.
19:49Vishwa sir.
19:50Again, Dipesh.
19:51Question from you.
19:52Because normally, when we make mythological or historical films,
19:56it comes to one's mind that there will be a lot of money.
20:01But when you are thinking about this film,
20:03what do you think about this film?
20:04And what do you think about the budget and money?
20:06What do you think about it?
20:07Which level?
20:09Yes.
20:11Yes.
20:13So, like I said in the beginning,
20:16I worked with Karthik from 2017.
20:19So, this film we started much before Anuman was started.
20:27So, when he got this story and the span,
20:32we know it's a very big task.
20:36And with the depth of knowledge Karthik has on how to bring the best experience on the screen.
20:44And we worked with Teja when he came back from his...
20:50What do you call it?
20:52He's worked as a kid.
20:55And then when he came as a young adult or a hero,
20:59we worked with him in O Baby in our banner.
21:02So, we were very confident that we can do wonders.
21:06And so, we didn't put any specific limits.
21:09So, we spent as it's required for the movie to deliver.
21:13We worked for over two years.
21:15And we got the best.
21:18Thank you so much, sir.
21:19We take you one last question.
21:20Please, ladies and gentlemen.
21:21Yes.
21:22Yes.
21:23Yes.
21:24Yes.
21:25Yes.
21:26Yes.
21:27Yes.
21:28Yes.
21:29Yes.

21:36Yes.
21:37Yes.

21:39Yes.
21:40Yes.
21:41Yes.
21:42Yes.
21:43Yes.
21:44Yes.
21:45Yes.
21:46Yes.
21:47And, you know, the benchmark for this film is Bahuballi.
21:48Yes.
21:49How much pressure you had before producing it and how much pressure you gave them.
21:53Yes.
21:54Yes?
21:55Ma'am, there is never, you can never compare one film to the other.
22:02Every film has its own, has its own journey.
22:06And I think everyone on this illustrious platform will tell you
22:10that Rajamoli, sir, for us, is like, he's like,
22:15like literally the benchmark of great cinema of India.
22:19We are all humble students wanting to learn from the master.
22:23He's a master.
22:24You cannot ever dare to compare to Rajamoli, sir's vision.
22:28I wouldn't, and I'm sure everyone who has tremendous respect for him
22:32in their hearts will say the same thing.
22:35Here, I want to say, it is a totally different experience
22:39that you're going to have when you watch Meera.
22:41It's very, very different from anything you have seen.
22:44The narrative, the combination of deep-rooted civilization,
22:49itihas, blended with modern-day storytelling,
22:52and the exceptional emotion that flows within it.
22:57It's a totally different experience,
22:59and I wouldn't compare this to anything you've ever seen anywhere.
23:02Teja, Teja, last question, meera, you have to say.
23:05Teja, here, Bhavna Sharmanav Bharat.
23:08I have to say it.
23:09I have to say it.
23:10This is a coincidence that you have a character that you have a very common man,
23:17and after that, you become a superhero, you don't know about your powers.
23:22In this film, we've seen a little bit of something,
23:25and people have really liked it, and I think it will also be liked it.
23:30I'm saying that this is a coincidence,
23:32but do you not think that this kind of spider-man,
23:37it's like you're the chosen one for this, of course.
23:52So, are you the chosen one, is what she's trying to.
23:58Ma'am, I strongly believe that there is a higher power that is guiding me.
24:05Otherwise, these kind of stories wouldn't come to me,
24:07and from where I have started, I come from no background.
24:11Even in Telugu, I come from no background.
24:13From where I have started, I was going from office to office for my break,
24:17or for an opportunity, and in the same banner,
24:20after growing up, I've been a child actor,
24:22but after growing up, in the same banner, in Vishwasa's banner,
24:25I have done a character in their film.
24:28From there, I became a lead actor,
24:29and now sitting here today, along with Karan sir,
24:32addressing national media, it is not a small thing for me, Ma'am.
24:36There is definitely universe helping me.
24:38Bhagawan ka krupa mujh par hai.
24:40I believe it, Ma'am.
24:42Hi, Teja. I'm supporting this question also.
24:45I'm supporting this question.
24:47I've seen that you are a very religious person,
24:50always you do religious in your films and all.
24:54Sorry, Ma'am?
24:55You are a very religious person.
24:58Each and every film is in between religious and all.
25:02Are you a religious person in life?
25:05No, no, no, no. Religious.
25:09Religion in every film you're saying?
25:11Yes.
25:12Ma'am, I don't understand this question.
25:14Nobody asks anybody who does the same love story again and again and again.
25:19Why are you asking when we are trying to show our dharma?
25:22We have to be proud of it.
25:23This is our land.
25:24Sure, sure.
25:25We are proud of it.
25:25This is our...
25:26Ma'am, ma'am.
25:28Ma'am, what I would like to say is,
25:30this is our...
25:31These are our morals.
25:32And moreover, it's a, whatever you have seen, the trailer, it's a 3 minute, 10 seconds trailer.
25:39This is our Bhagawan Shriram ka darshan.
25:43This is our religion in the film, fantasy, action, adventure, and Hanuman bhi.
25:52Usmai bhi woh ek superhero kahaani hai, usmai ek sister hai, uska ek ala emotion hai.
25:58Lekin jo bhi hum...
26:00We are trying to bring out a small moral or a connection with Itihah Saas in a very cool way.
26:07You have to be happy that for the younger generation,
26:11we are trying to tell our history in a very cool way, ma'am.
26:14I hope...
26:15I think he said it all, ladies and gentlemen, we'll just wrap this up.
26:19Bholy.
26:20Did you take any kind of liberty, sir?
26:45Because you are the DOP and the director of this film.
26:47Was it like easy for you because, you know...
26:51It took two years of my time, but it's definitely easy.
26:55I don't have to tell it to another person, so it's easier only for me, so I don't think...
27:00One man army doing everything.
27:01Sir, they call it cinematic liberty for a reason, sir.
27:03We have taken liberties in films that don't have VFX and AI also.
27:07We have taken many liberties in our life and right now we are taking the liberty of saying goodbye to all of you.
27:13Thank you so much.
27:14Thank you very much.
27:14Thank you so much, Karan, sir. That's all we have for you, ladies and gentlemen.
27:18I know, I know. This conversation just can go on and on.
27:21Just a second, I would like to add one small thing.
27:23Special thanks to Aburwa, sir. Thanks to Bhumika ji. Thanks to the whole Dharma team who have been supporting us in bringing this film to national audience.
27:33I will never forget what you are doing for us, sir.
27:37Karan, sir. Thanks a lot, sir. Thank you.
27:38Thank you to all the media who have come here to bless us.
27:41Mirai is releasing on September 12th in theatres.

27:47Thank you so much.
