00:00An emotion. This man has given us I don't know how many reasons to celebrate. He's an ace filmmaker, a producer, a writer. He's this rock star as I call him. Give it up for Mr. Karan Johar. We gotta make some more noise for him of course.
00:19Welcome Karan sir. Thank you so much for being here. And before I shoot my question, what would you like to say to all the lovely people here?
00:27Firstly, thank you so much to members of the media for being here with us and always being so supportive to everything that we've ever put out.
00:35This is a tremendous honor for me to be on this platform. My journey with the spectacular cinema from the south started with Raja Mollisa with Bahubali in 2013.
00:46And I believe that Bahubali not just changed cinema in the global landscape, but also brought out the outstanding cinema that comes from Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada into homes and hearts of North India as well.
01:01And we are honored that we began this journey with the legendary Raj Mollisa. Today and subsequently we worked with Shankar sir and worked with Rana on Ghazi attack and several other films.
01:13But today I'm deeply, deeply privileged, humbled and honored to be able to present Mirai. And firstly, my congratulations to you Vishwa sir.
01:22Because I know your tremendous passion is what brought you here. You are in a very lucrative business of your own. And it's only, we all know that as they say na,
01:31I know that it's been a big part of our films, but the name is a big part of our films.
01:34That it's a big part of our films. But eventually when you talk about industrialists and corporations,
01:39which they will earn, and when they go to our P&L and listen to our numbers,
01:44you think that you are so much of working, your name is famous in Vishwa Bhar. And this is your profit.
01:50You make such money and you make such a lot of work. Then my answer is,
01:56that we don't look at numbers in our work. We listen to each film.
02:01Yeah, bother sir.
02:03We've never made a film with our mind. And that's why Vishwa sir's passion is really capable of it.
02:11They've reached this stage because they really wanted to contribute to cinema.
02:15And that's why I thank you for your heart. We're very grateful to you sir for being with us today
02:21and giving us this massive magnetic and magnificent opportunity of presenting Mirai to the world.
02:27Karthik, what do I say to you? I really believe, when I met Karthik, I thought he was 21 years old.
02:34And I couldn't believe that he is the same director who's given us a massive success before this with Karthik A2.
02:40And now when I saw the vision of Mirai, and he's been an immensely successful cinematographer,
02:44but for him to come out and put his heart into this , into this , into the world of Mirai,
02:51which is the beginning of many, many more to follow.
02:54And what is even more credible that the kind of work in the VFS component that has been put into this film
03:01with limited resources has been come out of India.
03:05All of this has worked out of technicians and collaborators in Hyderabad who have done this.
03:10And of course the budget is tight, but the vision was large. The dream was large.
03:14And what you see, we've heard budgets of films that go into 300s and 400s and 500s.
03:19None of us here on this platform will talk about the budget.
03:23But the vision is a thousand crores. The vision has a budget of its own.
03:29It's got nothing to do with money spent. It's to do with the energy that everyone has put into this film.
03:35I have, before we call the boy himself, another boy, another, I feel I'm in some youth conference here right now.
03:42I just want to thank everyone from Bhumika and her team for introducing us to the team of Mirai
03:48and to Apoorva who has been such a huge energy at Dharma Productions from the very onset.
03:54And you know, I wouldn't have been able to do anything without him.
03:57Mirai is the beginning of hopefully, sir, many collaborations between us.
04:02And I have always worked magically with filmmakers from the South.
04:06I've been very successful and I think they are lucky for me. I'm not just lucky for them.
04:11Every time my name has been attached to a film, we've met with massive success.
04:15Well, besides one. But mostly our success rate has been hugely and immense.
04:22And I know with a fact that I want to say that I know that when you see me, you will be depressed.

04:35Karan Sai, quick question. Mirai is the one that you've always focused on family values.
04:40You know, your families and their connections are always seen in your films.
04:45Was that the reason or the reason that you thought that we have to back this film?
04:51Because the way it is being presented in Mirai is something that we've never seen before.
04:58I'm a huge fan when we measure both worlds.
05:03In Ramastra, we were also trying to make a film that actually is a modern tale,
05:09which is deeply rooted in ancient civilization stories and, you know, in stories of our scriptures.
05:16And we began that journey with Ramastra.
05:19So when I saw the world of Mirai, I was blown over.
05:22Not just because it's deeply rooted in our itihas, but it's deeply rooted in its storytelling.
05:29As you can see, this is the identifiable story.
05:32Today, the young man who is growing up in Varanasi,
05:36and that's where he started his journey.
05:38And then in his world, his inherent power,
05:41I don't even know his extent of being a super-yodha.
05:44And his coming of age, and what you see through that journey.
05:47And I won't say anything much, but that interval block, when I saw it, I was standing alone.
