A Window of Time is a projection-based kinetic installation by multidisciplinary artist and filmmaker Judy Suh. Known for her immersive storytelling and innovative use of cinematic technology, Suh invites viewers into a playful meditation on the in-between—the transient spaces where most of life unfolds. On view from August 7 until September 6, 2025 at Dimin Gallery in New York, the artwork emerged from a subtle insight that much of life unfolds in transit, caught between destinations. Neither fully leaving nor arriving, but lingering in an intermediary space. This often-ignored in-between phase carries a quiet intimacy, a fleeting yet profound essence of daily existence. Captured during years of journeys across the U.S., Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, Suh reimagines the gallery as a dynamic cinematic vista. A model train circles an illuminated track, bearing a compact projector that casts ephemeral glimpses of passing scenes onto the surrounding walls—fragments of urban architecture, rural landscapes, city strangers, and introspective musings. These projections weave together personal recollections, shared human experiences, and fleeting perceptions, dissolving the boundaries between them.
