Patrick Mahomes admitted his slow start cost the Chiefs against the Chargers, after they lost 27-21 in Brazil.

00:01It wasn't good enough.

00:02I think just in general, they came out with more energy

00:04than we did, their defense and our offense.

00:07So we didn't execute.

00:09I missed some throws down the field.

00:12And obviously, we didn't play good enough in the first half.

00:14I mean, it's hard to say.

00:16You know, I felt like we had energy at practice yesterday

00:18and all throughout the week.

00:19But when you don't come out and play with the right mindset,

00:23you get beat.

00:23And the Chargers came out with the right mindset.

00:26We didn't, and they beat us.

00:27I think it's just a learning moment for especially the young

00:29guys on the team.

00:30It's like, we're going to get everybody's best.

00:33And we have to play up to that standard if we want to win

00:35football games.

00:36And I felt like we didn't play to that standard today.

00:38Everybody, offense, defense, special teams.

00:40But credit to the Chargers.

00:41They had a great plan, came in and played great football

00:44and beat us.

00:45And now we have to learn from that, knowing that next week's

00:47going to be just as tough.
