00:00None of us have never done anything like this.

00:04We come from the hood.

00:06South Memphis is a black working class neighborhood.

00:10Memphis is not mountains and hills.

00:13It's murder's air work.

00:17We started a climbing gym to bring a safe place for youth.

00:22Memphis Rocks is something this community and city needs.

00:26Later this year, Rocks is taking his biggest climbing trip ever, Mount Kenya.

00:32It'll be the biggest, hardest climb any of us has ever attempted.

00:36It's easy to say that all of us are going to make it to the town of Mount Kenya.

00:39It's going to be hard to do it.

00:41If we're going up a mountain together as a team, you don't want to see nobody give up.

00:4516,000 feet is insane.

00:49Bill Henderson is one of the people I look up to the most.

00:52You want to challenge, right?

00:54We all have that common goal.

00:55Just having fun.

00:56The Memphis Rocks crew, they're coming from a tough place.

00:59They're tough people.

01:00But many of them have never claimed outdoors.

01:12Six months ago.

01:13Alex Honnold is one of the greatest athletes I know.

01:24The stakes could not be higher.

01:31I've never experienced anything like the Memphis Rocks crew.

01:36And as a climber, you fail all the time. That's all you ever do.

01:40People are starting to realize how hard it's gonna be.

01:44Not everyone's gonna be able to make it up.
