00:00Who's ready?
00:01I was born ready.
00:02Yes!
00:03Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for up-and-coming reboots and
00:08revivals of classic 90s media.
00:10Yeah, Buffy.
00:11What are we gonna do now?
00:15Number 10.
00:16Baywatch
00:17Oh my god, Mitch, I'm sorry, I was just so surprised to see you standing there.
00:24Not as surprised as I was.
00:27Fox might have hated 2017's Baywatch movie, but they can't deny that it was a box office
00:33success.
00:34It inspired Fremantle Productions to release remastered HD versions of all 242 episodes
00:40of the original show, and to start mulling over a reboot of the series.
00:45Last year, the company reached a deal with Fox to air the new show, which promises to feature
00:49just as many bikini-clad beach bods as its predecessor.
00:53How you doing, ladies?
00:54Come on, if I get a couple shots here, do you?
00:57Just a few.
00:58Look here.
00:59Oh, beautiful.
01:00Oh, I'm sorry about that.
01:02I'm sorry.
01:03Sorry, ladies.
01:04I didn't need to do that.
01:05It will be in good hands under writer and showrunner Lara Olsen.
01:09She already has experience writing for a reboot of a 90s favorite, 90210.
01:14No release date has been announced yet, but the show is already in pre-production.
01:18Impressive, isn't it?
01:19Just another day at your beach club.
01:22Get to pull rich drunks out of the surf again.
01:26Number 9.
01:27Practical Magic
01:28This dark rom-com fantasy stars Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman as witchy sisters plagued
01:38by a family curse that kills any man they fall in love with.
01:42It was based on a 1995 novel by Alice Hoffman.
01:45More than 25 years later, Hoffman published a sequel called The Book of Magic.
01:50Now, Warner Brothers is following suit with a film sequel.
01:54The 1998 movie wasn't a hit with critics, but they did praise the chemistry of the cast.
02:00Luckily, the new film will bring back all of the original leads, including Stockard, Channing,
02:18and Diane Wiest as the sisters aunts.
02:21It's scheduled for release in September 2026.
02:24Ultimately, it is about sisters, that, and it's like, I obviously have a sister and I've
02:30got, I'm raising sisters right now.
02:32How does that translate into now?
02:35Number 8.
02:36Darkwing Duck
02:37Darkwing Duck
02:39Let's get dangerous.
02:46This superhero parody first swooped across our screens in 1991, and for three seasons,
02:52he was a staple of the after-school cartoon lineup.
02:55Now, the terror that flaps in the night is returning to Disney+.
02:59Can't disappoint the fans, sir.
03:02Oh, like they're going to have fans.
03:05Rumors of a revival had been circulating for years, and in July 2024, original Darkwing
03:12creator Tad Stones confirmed that it's really happening.
03:15Voice acting legend Jim Cummings recently revealed that he's returning to reprise his role as the
03:22title character.
03:23And I'm just so honored after, I don't know, 30 years, he's coming back, and I don't want to spoil
03:29anything, but Gosselin has grown up, and he's actually gotten older.
03:34The new storyline will take a page from The Dark Knight Returns, following an older Drake
03:40Mallard, and his daughter Gosselin will be all grown up.
03:44Number 7.
03:45Anaconda
03:46If you want to spend Christmas Day watching a giant snake try to eat Jack Black and Paul
03:51Rudd, you're in luck.
03:52Paul Rudd and Jack Black star in The Anaconda!
03:57It might be The Anaconda.
03:58Is it?
03:59Whatever.
04:00Although the 1997 camp classic already boasts three sequels and a crossover with Lake Placid,
04:06the new movie will be a true reboot of the franchise.
04:09While the original film was unintentionally hilarious, with Black and Rudd on board,
04:15it's a safe bet that the new version will be more of a horror comedy.
04:19We gotta kill that snake!
04:21And the snake inside!
04:24Gotta kill it!
04:25We gonna break its neck and cook it on a stove!
04:29Writer-director Tom Gormakin also has plenty of experience creating laughs, since his latest
04:36projects include The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent and Beverly Hills Cop Axel F.
04:42Anaconda is slated for release on December 25th.
04:46You wanna get scared?
04:47You wanna laugh?
04:48You wanna celebrate with your friends?
04:50Or maybe you're alone and sad and have nobody, but just wanna forget about that.
04:54It's coming out on Christmas in 2025.
04:57Number 6.
04:58Cape Fear
04:59John D. Macdonald's 1957 novel The Executioner's has been adapted to film twice.
05:05Would you really feel more secure with a loaded gun in the house?
05:08Well, we'd probably end up using it on each other.
05:10The first was 1962's Cape Fear, starring Robert Mitchum as deranged killer Max Cady and Gregory
05:17Peck as lawyer Sam Bowden.
05:20In 1991, the movie was remade with Robert De Niro in the role of Cady and Nick Nolte as
05:26the lawyer.
05:27Now it's getting turned into an Apple TV Plus series.
05:39With a star-studded cast, Javier Bardem, who gave audiences chills as hitman Anton Chigurh,
05:46will take the lead as Max Cady.
05:48Amy Adams and Patrick Wilson are set to play The Bowdens.
05:52Filming is currently underway, so expect to see this one hit your screen sometime next year.
05:58Oh, there is gonna be more, isn't there, Mr. Cady, huh?
06:01You won't stop until you're happy.
06:03How can I be happy, Lee, when you're not happy?
06:07Number 5.
06:08Captain Planet and the Planeteers
06:10What's better than a reboot of your favorite environmentally conscious cartoon?
06:14I need young people to help now, starting with five very special kids from five corners of the globe.
06:21How about a live-action version?
06:23Rumors of a non-animated revival of Captain Planet have been circulating for nearly a decade.
06:29In 2016, Glenn Powell was in talks to write and star in it, but the plan fell through.
06:35It's high risk, high reward.
06:37Well, go for the reward.
06:39There's no one been to think you're boring.
06:41Boring is not usually a problem for me, Cady.
06:44Then, in July 2025, Netflix officially signed on to distribute the new show,
06:49which will be co-produced by Leonardo DiCaprio's studio, A P and Way.
06:53Tara Hernandez will be the lead writer.
06:56You might know her from her work on The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon.
07:01No word yet on who will play the buff blue baddie,
07:04but they'll certainly have no shortage of contemporary climate-related storylines to work with.
07:09I want you to join me and the Planeteers in saving our planet.
07:14Go, Planet!
07:15Number 4. Cliffhanger.
07:17We weren't the only ones who were traumatized by that original opening scene, right?
07:22Like many of the IPs on our list, there have been rumors of a Cliffhanger revival for years.
07:27TriStar announced a sequel in 1994, which never happened.
07:31Hey, look, you guys better watch out, cause some bad weather's coming in.
07:34Okay?
07:35We like it extreme!
07:37Throughout the 2000s and 2010s, new scripts were written and discarded,
07:42and various stars and directors signed on, then dropped out.
07:46In May 2023, an official sequel was announced with Sylvester Stallone back in the lead role.
07:52Oh my God!
07:53What do we do now?
07:55Got a pencil.
07:56In October 2024, we learned that the sequel had been turned into a reboot.
08:01Stallone wouldn't be in it, and Lily James would star instead.
08:06Filming started that month, so it looks like a new cliffhanger is really happening.
08:11Quailin, the game's over.
08:13You lost.
08:14Oh no.
08:15The game's just getting interesting.
08:17I'm airborne now, you see?
08:20Number 3.
08:21It.
08:22The upcoming HBO series, Welcome to Derry, will be a prequel to the 2017 movie.
08:28It will also be the first It TV show we've gotten since the 1990 miniseries starring Tim Curry.
08:35And when you're down here with me, you'll float tall!
08:43The new show will take place in 1962 in line with the 27-year cycles of Pennywise's appearances.
08:50Andy Muschietti, who directed the two most recent films, is developing the series alongside his sister Barbara.
08:56According to him, it will be even more intense than the movies.
09:00People in this town, it's like the devil's in them.
09:04Bill Skarsgård is back as the dancing clown, and Taylor Page and Jovan Adepo star as a young couple who's just moved to town.
09:19It will be hitting our screens just in time for Halloween.
09:23We have to tell someone.
09:24No one's gonna believe us.
09:26Most people, they only believe what they can see.
09:30Number 2.
09:31Blade.
09:32The MCU has been teasing us with a Blade comeback for years.
09:36In 2019, Mahershala Ali was announced as the new face of the character.
09:41He made his first appearance, sort of, in the form of a voice-only cameo in the post-credits scene of 2021's Eternals.
09:49Sure you're ready for that, Mr. Whitmer?
09:55Wesley Snipes returned as Blade in Deadpool and Wolverine, which sees the Daywalker trapped in the void alongside other seemingly abandoned Marvel characters.
10:05Production on the standalone Blade film was pushed back repeatedly in 2022 and 2023.
10:11That was a long time ago.
10:14Maybe you should let that go.
10:16A release date was set for September 2024, then moved to February 2025, then to November 2025.
10:24As of now, we don't know for sure when the Dampire will be back on our screens.
10:29But here's hoping it soon.
10:31Maybe these two are a chance to be remembered the way we deserve.
10:37Before we continue, be sure to subscribe to our channel and ring the bell to get notified about our latest videos.
10:48You have the option to be notified for occasional videos or all of them.
10:52If you're on your phone, make sure you go into your settings and switch on notifications.
10:58Number 1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
11:00If you've been dying for more vampire butt-kicking on your screen since the series ended in 2003, we've got good news.
11:17Sarah Michelle Gellar is returning as Buffy Summers, but she's no longer the Slayer.
11:22That honor goes to newcomer Ryan Keira Armstrong, while Gellar will play a mentor figure like Giles.
11:28How do you feel about helping me save the world?
11:31Good.
11:32You want to be my chosen one?
11:36The show will also introduce a whole new Scooby gang, and presumably a new slate of vampires, demons, and other supernatural beasties.
11:45One person from the original show who won't be returning is Joss Whedon.
11:49The series will air on Hulu, and the pilot started filming in August 2025.
11:55There's no official release date yet, but we can probably expect to see it sometime in 2026.
12:00I just realized something.
12:03Something that really never occurred to me before.
12:10We're gonna win.
12:11Which of these reboots are you most excited for?
12:13Let us know in the comments.
12:15I'm not supposed to take stuff from strangers.
12:18Oh, well I'm Pennywise the dancing clown.
