00:00Lisa Fraser was killed at her home in Pembroke Dock, stabbed multiple times in the neck by a stranger.
00:07An inquest into her death heard the 52-year-old suffered a significant amount of blood loss
00:12and was found by police after they were called to reports of a man threatening people with a knife on Military Road.
00:19Over the four days of evidence at Haverford West Coroner's Court,
00:22witnesses explained Matthew Harris had damaged a number of gardens and a car window in the Nayland area
00:27earlier in the day on the 13th of May 2022 before cycling to Military Road in Pembroke Dock
00:33where he threatened an elderly motorist with a knife, saying that he was going to die.
00:39When armed police arrived on the street, they said Harris walked over from the front door of Lisa Fraser's home
00:44with his hands up, saying, I've just killed a Nazi in there and needed to go to jail.
00:49They found Mrs Fraser's body in a rear bedroom.
00:52While giving his conclusion, Assistant Coroner Paul Bennett said at the heart of this inquest
00:58was a mother of three children who had no association with Matthew Harris,
01:03saying that a lot of the questions around why this happened would sadly go unanswered for the family,
01:09recording a conclusion of unlawful killing.
01:1241-year-old Matthew Harris was arrested and charged with murder, criminal damage, threats to kill and robbery,
01:19but while in custody on the 27th of May 2022, attempted to take his own life and died a day later in hospital.
01:27The coroner said despite evidence of significant drug issues and a paranoid, unpredictable personality,
01:33he believed that Matthew Harris was of sound mind at the time.
01:37Tony Wilcox has been the county councillor for the PEN Award for 25 years.
01:41He previously worked with Matthew Harris and lived around the corner from Lisa Fraser.
01:46I've never seen such an impact. It was like devastation and like stunned, stunned devastation.
01:53It was, we've never seen nothing like it before. I've never experienced nothing like it before.
01:57People were just aghast, just terrified really.
02:01And you know, well this could happen in our community, which is a sleepy little community, like most of PEN, really.
02:07Lisa Fraser's family left court today after an emotional hearing,
02:11which concluded with a statement read by her daughter Phoebe, describing her mother as a beautiful, caring soul,
02:18explaining she was the life of any party or get-together,
02:21saying Lisa Fraser was a wife, mother and best friend, who should still be here to enjoy her life.
