00:00There are plenty of collectibles to gather in Red Dead Redemption 2, and one of the more
00:07mysterious ones are the rock carvings, which are strange images engraved into the stones
00:12found throughout the world. Here's where to find all ten.
00:21This mission begins when you speak to Francis Sinclair, a stranger that you'll find outside
00:25his cabin northwest of Strawberry. Once you've mailed him the tenth set of coordinates, you'll
00:46be able to complete this particular stranger mission by reading his invitation and then
00:50visiting him again at this cabin. We'll start hunting for these near Strawberry and work
00:56our way around the map anti-clockwise from west to east, so you should be able to pick
01:00them up in one long ride. The first is possibly the most awkward of all of the rock carvings
01:06to actually collect. This one is located on the southwest shore of O'Angela Lake to the
01:11west of Strawberry itself. It's engraved on the highest rock pile here, but although you
01:15can get up close and personal, you'll need to stand on the shore for the prompt to actually
01:19appear.
01:26The second is near Mount Shan. Follow the path that takes you towards the summit, and keep
01:31following it until you're right under the T on the map and the road makes a bit of a
01:35snake shape as it turns down the mountain. Here you'll not only find some giant bones,
01:40but a second rock carving on the right of the rocks above the path.
01:49For the fourth, head to the cliffs of Limpeni and head to the southern end of them. Here,
01:54overlooking that burnt out settlement, recessed deep in the cliff face, you'll find your
01:56third rock carving.
01:58For the fourth, head to the southern point of Moonstone Pond to the south of Grizzlies East
02:03in Amberino. Then go towards the area where the ground rises to the southeast of the pond.
02:08Make your way up the side using the little grass path, and then aim for the rocky outcrops
02:10beyond. Move past the first one and then make your way towards the second large outcrop,
02:17but duck down the path that juts off to the right before it.
02:21Follow the grass around and you'll see the pyramid themed rock carving in the stones in front of you.
02:58one head to the northern shore of the Elysian pool. From here head east and you'll see a rather
03:05large rock carving high up on the jutting cliff to your left if you're on the path.
03:18The sixth can be found east of Deer Cottage. Once you arrive here,
03:21follow the path up a bit until you can access the rock face behind it.
03:25Move along the first level of the cliff face and the rock carving is right there just loitering
03:32above Deer Cottage. The seventh is on a cliff face on a peak south west of Bacchus station
03:53and northeast of Fort Wallace. Follow the road up to the northeast from Fort Wallace until you see
03:58an unmarked path snake up a large hill. Head up here until you reach two stone peaks.
04:10Pass between them and then follow the path around to the left.
04:12When the path splits, go downhill and the rock carving is engraved onto the cliff to your left.
04:23For the eighth one, follow the road that turns east above the sea in Cumberland Forest on the map,
04:45until you reach a broken rope bridge.
04:50Now turn back on yourself and make sure you go up into the trees on the cliff above.
05:02Head to the edge and you'll see another ledge below.
05:05Drop down there and then walk to the edge where you'll find the rock carving on the cliff face
05:16to your left, directly above the rope bridges.
05:19The ninth one is also near a wooden bridge. On the bank on the left-hand side of the Wynyard
05:33Strait where the wooden bridge crosses it is the ninth rock carving, engraved on the stone a few feet
05:38up the thin path from the bridge.
05:54And finally, to find the tenth rock carving, follow the map up into Mount Hagen, until the point is
05:58about to reach its natural conclusion. The rock carving is pretty obvious from the path there,
06:03on the rock face to your right.
06:08So that's where to find all 10 Red Dead Redemption 2 rock carvings. All that's left to do now is send
06:19your findings back to Francis Sinclair. A note though, if you hand in all 10 coordinates at once,
06:24you'll have to retrieve your mail over a number of in-game days. The first time you get it,
06:28you'll get the $10 reward and Kentucky Bourbon that you would have got for handing in one set
06:33of coordinates and you'll also get the rock statue that you get for handing in five. Then you'll have to
06:37go back again a little later to collect Francis Sinclair's invitation letter. Once you have it,
06:42head back to Sinclair's cabin near Strawberry to discover the true meaning of the rock carvings.

07:42That's not important. Excuse me. So what's actually happened here? Well,
07:47it seems that Francis Sinclair is a baby now, but the guy you saw at the beginning of this mission is
07:53also Francis Sinclair, but from the future. If you study all the documents pinned up on the wall,
07:58which are the same images as the rock carvings, it seems like Francis has been traveling through
08:03time portals and going on little adventures, but coming back to this Wild West timeline to record
08:08them. Why is another question, as is the location of the portal he's using now. Is it possible to
