01:18While the online world can help develop strategies to protect children from violence,
01:23it also introduces new risks,
01:25such as from individuals who exploit gaps in outdated legal systems,
01:29which often don't account for today's digital realities.
01:32We know that supporting parents is essential in reducing digital violence against children.
01:36That's why earlier this year we launched the Parents Network,
01:39a support network for families dealing with online harm.
01:42Through trauma-informed practices,
01:45we help parents come together to forge strong bonds,
01:47offering healing support through community
01:50with the ultimate goal of prioritizing safety at the source.
01:53Parents from the Parents Network are sharing their personal stories
01:58about their families' experiences with you all this week.
02:00We hope their voices and message will reaffirm this room's commitment
02:04to taking a clear-eyed approach to the reality of violence
02:07targeting children in this digital age.
02:10The stories have helped us to understand
02:12that as we better equip parents and caregivers
02:14and work to establish norms around the use of and access to technology
02:18as they relate to preventing violence,
02:20we must also commit to establishing standards that prioritize children's safety.
02:25Young people are calling for help.
02:27Families are desperately seeking support.
02:30They are urging us to leverage the resources in this room
02:33to confront the new reality our youth are facing.
02:37We look forward to the actions and outcomes of the discussions
02:39that will take place here in Columbia
02:41and are grateful for the leadership, expertise, and testimonies
02:45that will come together in this room
02:47to address all forms of violence targeting the most vulnerable in our world.
02:52Thank you again for your commitment to preventing violence against children,
02:55both offline and online.
02:58Together we can harness this moment to drive lasting change.
03:02Thank you.
