I'm going against the core rule of sports talk: I'm admitting I might be wrong. These are the **5 NFL predictions for the 2025 season that I'm genuinely worried about**—and the data behind why they could blow up in my face.
In this video, I break down the biggest gambles in my season preview:
🤔 **#5: The Cincinnati Bengals' Offensive Collapse**: Why Joe Burrow's historic 2024 might be impossible to repeat (and why that O-line is a disaster waiting to happen).
🦁 **#4: The Detroit Lions' Fall From Grace**: How the loss of Frank Ragnow and key coaching brain drain could derail their Super Bowl aspirations.
🛡️ **#3: The Minnesota Vikings' QB Gamble**: Why JJ McCarthy's rookie struggles could sink a roster I believe is otherwise elite.
💥 **#2: The Kansas City Chiefs' Offensive Breakout**: I'm all-in on the Rashee Rice & Xavier Worthy hype train... but what if Mahomes' offense stays "mid"?
✈️ **#1: The New York Jets' Redemption Arc**: Why I'm betting on Justin Fields and a culture shift—and why the preseason reports have me nervous.
**I need to know your thoughts!** Drop your biggest "I'm worried I'm wrong" take in the comments below. I'll reply and we can debate the stats.

00:00These are the five things that I'm worried I'm wrong about going into this NFL season.
00:12One of the first things I was taught in sports radio many, many, many years ago
00:18is don't ever say, oh, I don't know.
00:22And so that mentality certainly has found its way through into sports talk very aggressively
00:29over the last five, ten years.
00:32And so sometimes we just want to come out and make a definitive statement.
00:36This is how this situation is going to go.
00:40And I know, like, I can come on here, I can talk very, very quickly,
00:43and I can make it really seem, I can throw out a couple of numbers
00:45that a lot of people will recognize, some people won't,
00:47but I'll say it very quickly and very impactfully.
00:49And it's coming from a large person on here,
00:52so it must be having some impact behind it.
00:56But there's still some things I'm worried I'm wrong about.
00:58So today, we're going to go through the top five things I'm worried I'm wrong about
01:04going into this NFL season.
01:06Honorable mention to the Green Bay Packers having a breakout season this year.
01:10I think that with Jordan Love having a full season of health
01:14and still having a very talented wide receiver room
01:18and a very good running back to work with,
01:20I feel like there is a big breakout coming.
01:22But if the defensive improvements that I thought I saw from a season ago
01:26aren't necessarily there, or if there's an injury problem for Jordan Love
01:30or some of the talent, because there have been some losses there as well,
01:33injury-wise, at receiver in Green Bay,
01:35if Golden doesn't help replace a few of those things,
01:38then maybe that breakout isn't coming.
01:40So honorable mention to Green Bay there.
01:42But my number five thing I'm worried I'm wrong about
01:44is the Bengals can't repeat last year's wild offensive production.
01:49Last year, the Cincinnati Bengals for fantasy football
01:53were an absolute goldmine on both sides.
01:57Because offensively, it was one of the great offensive teams we've ever seen.
02:01Joe Burrow putting up video game numbers.
02:03Jamar Chase, Tee Higgins, Brown, all of them.
02:07Chase Brown, sorry.
02:07All of them just complete dominance in the fantasy football landscape.
02:12And they had a defense that allowed everybody to eat against them.
02:16They were glorious.
02:18I have multiple concerns when it comes to this.
02:23A, that feels just like a difficult way to live in the National Football League.
02:28And so they made some moves to try to help this defense out.
02:32But obviously, the situation with Hendrickson, not ideal.
02:34Even the weird holdout thing with Shamar Stewart,
02:37the kid they drafted in the first round, seems a little weird.
02:40And because they were so focused on that,
02:42they weren't focusing on the fact that their meal ticket,
02:45their number one quarterback, is running for his life more often than he's not
02:49behind a very bad offensive line.
02:51I don't think they made the necessary adjustments on that O-line.
02:55It's great.
02:56You got Chase and you got Higgins to throw the ball to.
02:58I think Brown's going to have a good year as a running back.
03:01But I just don't think that they are going to be able to have
03:04one of the all-time great offensive seasons in the NFL in back-to-back years,
03:10given the state of that offensive line.
03:12I think you're just asking too much of Joe Burrow.
03:15So that is kind of my take.
03:18My concern, and where I'm worried I'm wrong about,
03:20is just, as the kids would say,
03:23Joe Burrow is him.
03:24Like, he is very good at this whole quarterbacking thing.
03:28And I am banking on something not happening that we just saw last season.
03:34Like, this isn't a,
03:35oh, I think there's going to be a breakout or whatever.
03:36It's like, I think that thing that we saw 17 times,
03:39I think that's a lie.
03:41That's where I get a little bit of a concern with,
03:43is that I am going against something that has happened already.
03:46And so to say it's not going to happen again,
03:48I just get a little bit of a,
03:49am I there on that one?
03:51We'll see.
03:52So that's the number five thing that I'm worried I'm wrong about.
03:55Number four is the fall off in Detroit.
03:58I think that the Lions,
04:00coaching staff, you lost a lot of brainpower this year.
04:02But I think Ragnow going down on the offensive line,
04:05and if you've listened to all the previews so far,
04:07and you took a shot every time that I mentioned Ragnow's injury,
04:12I'm sorry for your loss.
04:13Because I've brought it up a lot.
04:15But I think it's a big deal.
04:16This is a team that has Super Bowl aspirations.
04:19And their Pro Bowl center,
04:21in the middle of the offseason,
04:22not even in the middle of the offseason,
04:24three-quarters of the way through the offseason,
04:26after they would have had an opportunity to draft
04:28or go out and sign someone in free agency,
04:31he just up and called it quits.
04:33And not saying anything negative about him
04:36because it's his body, it's his life,
04:40go out and do that thing.
04:41If you think that you are too beat up or too whatever
04:44to continue to play this sport,
04:47then don't.
04:49Don't do that.
04:50So I have no ill will against him.
04:53I am just saying I think that's a big loss
04:55on the interior of an offense with a quarterback
04:58who kind of needs everything to be perfect
04:59to get these things going.
05:01And it's been perfect for a couple years
05:03and it has worked.
05:04I just feel like it's too many things
05:06going against them this year
05:08to have this play out the way that it did
05:10the last couple of seasons.
05:12Where I'm worried I'm wrong is,
05:13again, we've just seen them be good before.
05:16And you could have said a lot of these same things
05:18about Philadelphia.
05:19Philadelphia, so much of what they do
05:21is based on having one of the best offensive lines
05:23in the league.
05:24They have a play that teams have tried to get banned
05:27based off of shoving the center basically forward
05:31with the quarterback behind him.
05:33And then they lost one of the best centers of all time
05:35and they just kept running
05:38and then they won the Super Bowl.
05:39So I'm worried that the Lions have recovered from this
05:44way better than I thought.
05:46The, I guess, high-level play
05:49that they had on the offensive side
05:51wasn't just very good play calling
05:54and more on the Jimmys and Joes
05:57than the Xs and Os coming from Ben Johnson.
05:59And then this team steps up
06:01and still finds a way to be very good.
06:02So that's where I'm concerned I am wrong there.
06:05Again, I don't think I am,
06:06but that is the one that I'm concerned I am wrong on.
06:09At number three, my worry is that
06:12the upgrades the Minnesota Vikings made
06:14will not be able to offset the change at quarterback
06:20if J.J. McCarthy isn't very good.
06:22Because right now, I think it is.
06:23I think that they have the best receiver in the league.
06:26I think they have a pretty good running back room.
06:28I think they have a great offensive line
06:29and I think they have a very talented defense
06:32and just an incredibly well-coached football team.
06:35The only thing you don't love going into this season
06:38about the Minnesota Vikings is the quarterback spot.
06:41And it's not that they have a bad quarterback,
06:43it's just they have one we haven't seen before.
06:45My thought is that going into last season,
06:50we thought they had a bad quarterback in Sam Darnold.
06:54All this, oh well, Sam Darnold's actually an upgrade
06:56over Geno Smith out in Seattle, da-da-da-da-da.
06:58We weren't saying that 12 months ago.
07:00We were talking about how this is kind of the last chance
07:03and this guy would have been keeping the seat warm
07:05if J.J. McCarthy hadn't got hurt.
07:07So, an offensive scheme that was able to get the most
07:11out of a quarterback that was seeing ghosts in some other spots
07:14now gets this just fresh bit of clay to mold any way they want
07:19with a better roster around than what they had a season ago
07:23while still having all the great minds that led them that way.
07:26I am really, really high on the Minnesota Vikings going into this season.
07:32And, I mean, it's obvious where this falls apart
07:34is that J.J. McCarthy is more Will Levis than he is rookie Joe Flacco.
07:42I don't know why that's the pull I made, but you know what I mean,
07:45where that year Flacco and Ryan, as rookies,
07:48took their teams to the playoffs, it went really well.
07:50The concern is that he is just impossibly bad
07:54and does irreparable damage to the offense
07:56in a way where they can't overcome it.
07:59Like, that one, that's, again, these first three,
08:02it's pretty easy straight lines to see where it could go wrong.
08:05This one, it's obvious.
08:06It is just like, okay, well, if he sucks, then they suck.
08:09Like, there's just no working around that,
08:11even if they have a great roster around it.
08:13I think they've insulated it enough that he's going to be fine,
08:16but I'm a little worried about that one there.
08:19At number two, the thing I am the second most worried about
08:22in the National Football League, we'll get to in just a second.
08:26But a reminder that everything is always changing
08:28around Couch Potato Diary.
08:30So, follow me on social media.
08:31I am at PrimetimeKline on Twitter, X, Twitter or X,
08:36Instagram, TikTok, Blue Sky Threads, all of it.
08:39Check me out over at PrimetimeKline.
08:42The thing that I am worried about number two on the list
08:45is the offensive breakout that I am presuming will come
08:48for the Kansas City Chiefs.
08:50This one has a lot to do with fantasy football.
08:54I mean, look, all of these have something to do
08:56with fantasy football, right?
08:57Like, looking at the Bengals situation,
08:59I'm a little bit lower on Burrow than others.
09:01I'm a little bit lower on Chase than others.
09:03I'm quite a bit lower on Higgins than others.
09:06I'm still there on Brown a little bit,
09:08but still a little bit lower on all of them.
09:11And if I'm wrong, then those are some pretty big misses to have.
09:15Same thing with Detroit.
09:16I'm low, Jameer Gibbs was one of my more overvalued players
09:20in fantasy football this season.
09:22I'm not touching Jared Goff.
09:24I think Jamison Williams is a fantastic talent.
09:27And just keeper-wise, I have him locked in
09:29on a couple of different rosters.
09:31But I have some concerns about him.
09:33I'm in Ross St. Brown.
09:34It's volume.
09:35He's going to be fine.
09:36But I have some worries about that.
09:38And again, if I am wrong,
09:39then those are some pretty big misses that I'm having.
09:42While on the Minnesota side, like, again, Justin Jefferson,
09:46I have him as the best receiver in football.
09:49And I think the offense is still going to be good enough
09:51that when Jalen Addison comes back,
09:53he's going to be a very valuable member of that roster.
09:56Aaron Jones, I think, is going to be good.
09:58So again, if McCarthy is just so bad
10:00that none of those are usable,
10:02then that's a pretty big whiff.
10:05And now on Kansas City,
10:06I think I'm higher on a lot of these options
10:08than a lot of people are.
10:10And the main thing about it is Rasheed Rice.
10:13I just, I know that there is a number one receiver there.
10:19I understand that there are some concerns.
10:23But I think you look at how well
10:25he was starting to play last season.
10:28And I know, like, it wasn't perfect.
10:29But when you look at how young this kid is,
10:32the gifts that he has,
10:34and what he was starting to show,
10:36if you just, like, extrapolate that
10:40over a 17-game season,
10:42then maybe it's not number one wide receiver numbers.
10:44But if you factor in any improvement at all,
10:46because the kid is still young and really good
10:48and in one of the best offensive systems
10:50the National Football League's ever seen,
10:52then I think you can really see
10:53where a number one receiver comes out there.
10:55And then when you look at the rest of the roster,
10:58you have him as a number one,
11:00if you believe that, which I do.
11:01You have Xavier Worthy, who's not a number one.
11:04Despite what Taylor Swift could be running around
11:06celebrating with, he's not a number one.
11:08So that just put him in a bad spot last season.
11:13What he can be, though, is big over-the-top guy.
11:16And so if you are focusing, you're underneath
11:18on Rasheed Rice,
11:20and a safety has an eye down there,
11:22then all of a sudden Xavier Worthy
11:24is just pulling the top off your defense.
11:25Well, that's when Patrick Mahomes in this offense
11:27really takes it to another level.
11:29And then you have Hollywood Brown as a number three,
11:31as an underneath guy,
11:33and Travis Kelsey,
11:34who I am still thinking
11:35there's going to be some improvements on
11:36from last season.
11:38I think that there is going to be
11:40a lot of weapons that Mahomes has to choose from,
11:44and I think Pacheco is better
11:45than a lot of people are assuming
11:46that he's going to be
11:48based off of seeing him after injury last season.
11:51So I am very high
11:54on what Kansas City still can be as an offense.
11:57The reason I'm worried I'm wrong
11:59is that I've been really high on this group,
12:01and you can get infatuated with the talent
12:03for the last few years,
12:05and the fact is,
12:06it has been a mid-offense
12:07for the last couple of years.
12:09Now they've gotten to Super Bowls,
12:10they've won Super Bowls
12:11in the past couple of years,
12:12because the defense is that damn good.
12:14But I think from a fantasy perspective,
12:16I am really high on a lot of these guys.
12:18We did the mock draft
12:19from the number one overall spot,
12:20and obviously I didn't take Mahomes
12:22number one overall,
12:23but we ended up with a Mahomes and Rice stack
12:26to go along with Jamar Chase
12:28as our number one right receiver.
12:30And so with that,
12:32I obviously,
12:33I think pretty highly
12:34of what Patrick Mahomes
12:35in this offense can do.
12:36And I think that we are going to see that
12:39at a high level this year.
12:40But if they are just
12:41dink and dunk,
12:42let's just survive in advance
12:43and move on,
12:44then that's going to be a pretty big whiff
12:46on my part.
12:46And the number one thing
12:47that I am worried about
12:48for the upcoming NFL season,
12:50worried I'm wrong about
12:51for the upcoming NFL season,
12:53is the improvements I think
12:56are coming for the New York Jets.
12:58I don't have as much baked in
13:00from a fantasy standpoint
13:02on these guys.
13:03This one is more
13:04from a wagering standpoint
13:05and from a predictions point of view.
13:08But still,
13:09I think that this offense
13:11and this team,
13:13this is still the roster,
13:15basically,
13:15that people were excited about
13:1712 months ago
13:18to see how Aaron Rodgers would do
13:21with this team.
13:22And I didn't think
13:24Aaron Rodgers was very good
13:26and he showed that he wasn't.
13:27And everyone just remembers
13:29that last game
13:29when he was stat hunting
13:30to try to get the touchdown mark
13:32and forgets just how miserable
13:34this season was.
13:36I think you have a coach
13:37that is going to hold
13:37people accountable,
13:38which was desperately needed
13:39out there.
13:40And I believe in the
13:41Justin Fields experiment
13:43with the New York Jets.
13:45I believe that there is
13:45a talented quarterback there.
13:47I get it hasn't looked awesome
13:48in preseason games
13:49and the reports coming out
13:50of training camp
13:51and the joint practices
13:53haven't been awesome.
13:54So that's, again,
13:55this is an easy one
13:56to figure out
13:57where this prediction goes wrong.
13:58It's that he's just bad.
14:00You know, like this offense,
14:01the problems,
14:02maybe it wasn't all Aaron Rodgers,
14:04but this kid isn't good enough
14:05to fix whatever
14:06those problems were.
14:07So that's where I'm worried
14:08that I am wrong.
14:09But I've just, again,
14:11I brought this team up
14:12on basically every preview show.
14:13I think people are just forgetting
14:15how hyped we were
14:17about what they could be last year
14:19and how the problems
14:21that were there
14:22were easily fixable
14:25and I believe have now been fixed.
14:27So I just feel like
14:29there is a much better season
14:31coming for the New York Jets
14:32than people are anticipating.
14:33But again,
14:34if I'm wrong on this one,
14:35then this is going to be
14:36one of the worst teams in football
14:37and I'm going to have
14:40taken a pretty big swing
14:41and a miss on this one.
14:42So those are the things
14:43that I am the most worried about
14:45going into the NFL season.
14:47Let me know
14:47either in the chat
14:48if you're watching this live
14:49or in the comments below
14:50after the fact.
14:51If you think I'm out to lunch
14:53on any of these,
14:53if you think,
14:54oh yeah,
14:54you're already wrong on this,
14:56how dare you?
14:57Or what are you worried
14:58that you're wrong about?
14:59A take that you have
15:00that's like,
15:00you know what?
15:01I believe this,
15:01but in the back of my mind,
15:03don't love that.
15:05Let me know
