Bradford earn comeback win in EFL Trophy over Grimsby

00:05Town in the EFL Trophy group stage to win by two goals to one and gain all

00:10three points. I think we made it difficult for ourselves I thought we

00:18just weren't as aggressive or ambitious in our play in the first half I thought

00:24we played a little bit off our top level and when it went down they went down to

00:31ten men and I thought we started okay after that after the sending off but it

00:36gradually got a little bit slow a little bit and predictable a little bit non

00:40committal in trying to get the other side of the opponent and I just had a

00:45feeling a mistake was gonna cost us and you know it was it was just one nil at

00:52halftime I wasn't obviously wasn't happy nor with the team and we just had to

00:58play with more urgency and more purpose and just believe in ourselves a lot more

01:01I think I don't think it's a lack of belief I just thought we were afraid of

01:06making a mistake and when you're afraid of making a mistake you're gonna make a

01:09mistake that's it and just accept you're making mistakes but be ambitious with

01:13them. And Newcastle-born Leeds United midfielder Sean Longstaff said that it

01:18was strange coming up against his old teammates in a Leeds United shirt as the

01:22wide-strewn nil-nil with Newcastle United. I did I enjoyed it it was it was a

01:28bit strange to be honest obviously playing against some of your best

01:32friends and stuff was really weird but yeah in a way I think it allowed us you

01:37sort of know them so well it allows you just to sort of enjoy the game

01:40something that won't happen a lot and to be honest I'm happy it's out the way and

01:43you can sort of fully focus on Leeds now the week was a bit weird with it all

01:48but no I thought we're really good today defended really well obviously can

01:52probably be slightly better on the ball at times but I think for us it was a

01:55definitely a step in the right direction. Were there any occasions when you could

01:58actually anticipate what was going to happen because you've seen it you've been

02:01in the amongst amongst it? Yeah maybe a little bit certain patterns or the way

02:05they play or you sort of know where the ball's going I think they're a really

02:10meticulous team and in terms of how they prepare for games and the way they play.
