00:00About a year ago, me and my friend started a band called Fothermucker.

00:03And I know everybody who's in a band thinks they're cool, but people actually say we're not terrible.

00:08I mean, we write our own songs and everything.

00:10I actually think that Fothermucker could be a great American rock band.

00:13I really do think we have it in us.

00:15Anyway, that's why I decided to bail on college.

00:17You got accepted to a college, but you're not going to go?

00:19Well, it's official. I declined your offer, and there's no going back now.

00:22Your parents are okay with that?

00:23You think I told my parents?

00:25They still think you're going?

00:26Look, all college was going to be was a distraction for the band, dude.

00:46In one week, we graduate high school, which gives us one summer to make the band happen.

00:50After that, we all go our separate ways.

00:55Why are you asking me to go?

00:56I just mean, you know, my band's playing, so.

00:58I don't listen to that type of music, sorry.

01:01Then why did you write, never stop shredding?

01:07I'm going to lose my father brothers, which would seriously suck, because I don't want to

01:11make music with anybody else.

01:13My boy Neil's in the band, too.

01:15He sings and plays guitar and believes everything in moderation, including moderation.

01:22Does it look like I'm doing, Mr. Marcus?

01:54Or at least his girlfriend, Amanda, does.

01:59You've gotten like 17 texts.

02:01We've been here for like 20 minutes.

02:02Well, she's trying to get me this internship at a private equity firm.

02:05Airplane mode, I don't know.

02:06Fuck.

02:07She's incredibly on the ball, dude.

02:09Sounds to me like she's on both of them.

02:11Of all of us, Topher probably has his shit the most together.

02:15Our drummer, Pete, on the other hand, does not have his shit together.

02:19I mean, Pete can't even find his shit.

02:21He's not the best drummer, but he's got a big heart,

02:24he's funny as shit, and he's always got your back.

02:27Yo, I'm telling you, my parents are in Bermuda for the weekend.

02:31I got two kegs coming, Bender's bringing an assload of weed.

02:36Wait, it's third period now?

02:43Truth is, the only thing I'm going to miss is Sophia Kinney.

02:49She's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen.

02:53But the thing is, that's just like the surface.

02:56Mom died in middle school when her dad started drinking,

02:58so everyone's always kind of tiptoed around her.

03:01She's the president of, like, six clubs.

03:04That's actually how I fell in love with her.

03:05Third week of freshman year, I accidentally walked into chess club.

03:09You know, it'd be pretty rough if you lost this game right now.

03:22I'm just waiting for the other members

03:23getting a head start on my strategy for the day.

03:33I actually started last week, but it was kind of a soft launch,

03:36so I'm anticipating more members in the weeks to come.

03:38So, you know, don't be freaked out that it's just me.

03:46I mean, checkmate.

03:48Let's, uh, let's play some chess.

03:52For the next three hours, she beat me senseless.

03:56But she took such care and compassion in trying to teach me.

03:59I just sat there listening to the speed in which her brain worked.

04:02Her kindness towards me, even with me never fully understanding it.

04:06She never got annoyed.

04:07She was all sunshine.

04:08And I knew in that moment, I would risk it all for her.

04:12I've been trying since then to get her attention,

04:14but I can't really get her to see me.

04:16I'm determined that that's going to change this summer.
