00:00Hello and welcome to What's On in Wigan. Discover the fascinating world of bats at Haywoodland Park
00:05on Wednesday, September 10th. Equipped with bat detectors, you'll listen for their echo
00:10location calls and observe bats in their natural habitat. It's great for all the family and children
00:15under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Places are limited but you
00:20can book your free ticket via the Be Well app or website and meet at the visitor centre at 6.45pm
00:26for a 7pm start. The third annual face painting jam takes place at St Aidan Social Centre in Marisbridge
00:34on Friday, September 12th. There will be demonstrations, shopping, competitions and a raffle and it starts
00:41at 10am. The Wigan Diggers Festival is a free event in the heart of Wigan and is a celebration
00:49of the life, ideas and influence of Wigan-born Gerard Winstanley. The event runs from 11am
00:56with a parade and a symbolic re-enactment of the occupation of St George's Hill. The
01:00remainder of the day offers music on two alternating stages. It takes place on Believe Square on
01:06Saturday, September 13th. And finally, join Wigan and Lee Hospice with your four-legged
01:14friends for the first ever 5k dog walk. Pulse of Thought is an opportunity to get in the great
01:19outdoors and celebrate the life of loved ones. All dogs registered will receive a free WLH
01:26banner but they must be kept on a short lead on the walk. Registration is £10 and begins
01:31at the Kitchen Courtyard at Haywoodland Park on Sunday, September 14th at 10am. Refreshments
01:37will also be available and there will be special store holders for the event.
