00:00French Prime Minister François Bayrou is fighting for his political survival.
00:06But after a marathon day of consultations here in Paris, his chances are looking increasingly slim.
00:12The Prime Minister met with party leaders across the political spectrum.
00:17The goal? To shore up as much support as possible before Monday's crucial confidence vote in Parliament.
00:24But the meetings are doing little to change the big picture.
00:28Most opposition groups have already said that they will vote against his government in order to topple it.
00:35And even among his own allies, cracks are starting to show with multiple Conservative MPs
00:41that are demanding drastic changes to the Prime Minister's highly unpopular 2026 budget plan.
00:49The strongest words this Tuesday came, however, from the far-right national rally leader, Jordan Bardella,
00:55who declared that the miracle did not happen and that this meeting won't change the national rally's position.
01:02He also demanded for snap elections to be held as soon as possible.
01:07The consultations will continue throughout this week, but it's an uphill battle for François Bayrou.
01:13Unless there's a dramatic turnaround, the Prime Minister looks like he is set to lose the vote on Monday.
01:21A defeat that would topple his government, but also plunge France into yet another phase of political uncertainty.
01:29See you.
