00:14i don't know how the offense is going to go you know it's always interesting you bring in a
00:19different defensive coach you got offensive things going on and it we'll see you know i think they
00:26got a lot of moving pieces over there going from a different quarterback change so but hopefully
00:30this is their opportunity you know justin's opportunity to finally like you know i'm in a
00:36place they want me here and i get the ball out you know he's a really really talented player and
00:41hopefully you know he's out there doing his thing because if he's going they're gonna be good like
00:46if he's going and doing the right things like they're gonna be just fine like their defense
00:51lights out talented that receiver number five that kid's good kid's really good he's just
00:59waiting on the right op with the right quarterback to give him the ball you know what i mean and i'm
01:03sure it's frustrating for him but hopefully this year's that year for him i think when you got a
01:08guy who's done it as he played for so long and he did it he's out there and he's not a bs guy like
01:15he's not gonna make up things and he also knows that there's certain things that happens in the game
01:20that you can't control like he he's very big on control i mean control the controllables
01:24and he has this saying that i i really appreciate it because i've never really heard it from a coach
01:30i guess in that way for him some penalties are the cost of doing business like this game is hard
01:37it's not he's not harping on you on every piece little thing he knows that hey we you have a heart
01:43down here and he's letting you know that on wednesday so it's not like you get there sunday and
01:49like hey we're in this call it's gonna be a hard down no on wednesday you know hey we're in this
01:53call and if they do this this is gonna be a difficult down for you get through the down and
01:59i think having those leadership qualities somebody that can talk the language but also like not he's
02:05not he's looking inward for correction he's not looking inward to show y'all him and like yo i did
02:11this i did this i did you know what i mean like why can't you do it i don't know he's more of a
02:15teacher he's looking inward on okay did i prepare you for this and if i didn't then that's on me
02:22i'll make sure you're more prepared so it's you know it's dope and i'm sure he had the he had the
02:28defense do the 40 40 up downs to be a part of uh be a part of the team and i've always i enjoyed
02:33that last year when i got done got to be a chance so i'm proud of ag man i only had to spend a year
02:38with him but it was a really impactful year dude he's amazing but it if you saw him get out there
02:45during a workout it wouldn't surprise you you know what i mean like if you saw his day-to-day
02:49and how he goes about it wouldn't surprise that i remember i came in and i was like uh i think i
02:54was hurt so i was coming in i came in a little bit earlier than everybody and i see this person
02:59sprinting and i'm like who is that like they're sprinting 100 yards they're gonna run in 110s and i'm
03:05like i asked the trainer i'm like who is that over there like like who why are they running 110s like
03:12we're this off season there's barely anybody here oh that's ben johnson i'm like what that's our
03:18offensive that's our offensive coordinator going back and forth so he gets after and you can just
03:24tell like he's thinking about the details of the game and honestly some of the stuff he comes up with
03:30is is it's fun i think i think that's where he's making his job fun for him like it's super cool
03:36but it's also fun to see like that little hook and ladder we did where they threw in arizona i'm like
03:40it giving your players that ability earned after being earned but giving your players that ability to
03:47like be innovative create this game that's a child's game and still make it more fun not only for them
03:53the fans but we're still trying to win and we're being aggressive and i think that was dope i just
03:59think he's a really really cool person that gets that part he gets that part of the game because
04:04the game can get redundant we've been doing it for forever we've been playing for a long time but
04:08to have your players innovate be into it they come with you if somebody comes to you with a suggestion
04:16and they give you the right detail and everything that you need i'm been as i'm sure as all open
04:21ears and like he's one of the only few coordinators i thought i thought that like when he calls plays
04:27like he's like down by the defense and i thought that was cool as hell i'm like looking at him
04:31he's got this bulldog look on his face but like you're seeing some like crazy trick play out there
04:35but i'm like man this dude i like him i like him a lot i think if he locks in like it could be
04:42sky's the limit for the kid just not against us i think if he locks in with ben you know and takes
04:47takes and jt's over there i got jt barrett over there a really really good coach i think if he
04:53locks in though like he's gonna be just fine and he's gonna get everything he wants but
04:58ben's gonna make him lock in now i'll tell you like ben's a bulldog like ben not going he's not
05:03going for you thinking you're just gonna do your own thing so if he's if he's locked in he should
05:07be great and i just hope he doesn't go crazy against he doesn't have those great games against
05:11us i think for i think that that is tough i think that wears mentally but like you can't what
05:17are you gonna do let him win like that's the thing you can't you can't let him win and win that
05:21fight and battle and being you know in in the sport and who he is i think i thought honestly i
05:28remember when i didn't they give up something the deals gave them a trade or something so so they
05:34can get xavier worthy or something happened and i was just amazed i'm like if i'm the bills i'm
05:38doing no business with the kansas city chiefs ever ever they can't the gm can't call my phone
05:43there's nothing i have interested for you and you have nothing interesting for me we are trying
05:47to beat y'all and i think that like that is tough i think the way that it happens is also tough because
05:55it keeps coming down to the last couple plays and it's like and it's nothing he's doing it's not like
06:01he's the one doing it like it's he's having great games so i think that's tough i think that's tough
06:08from a from a quarterback and preparation standpoint but i think that's also like the
06:14positive you got to hold on to like it's nothing that i'm doing i'm having great games and maybe i
06:19just got to do a little bit more and that's it and you know i've i was fortunate to beat him a
06:24couple times when i was in cincinnati and that was just it we were just like we just got to do more
06:29they're not gonna let us win like they're not not gonna give it to us they're not gonna and
06:33if everybody's got that mentality i think you got a better chance but they're a good team
06:37you know i'm just going there and beat those boys in case in arrowhead like it it's tough and
06:43rightfully so patrick's amazing like he's great and he has that city he has that it factor to have
06:50that city on a string to where he can pull their emotions without doing anything and he gets them
06:57going along that with like travis kelsey who's uh to be 13 14 years and he's an energy fireball like
07:05when he erupts and the stadium goes crazy and they love it chris john and all those guys on
07:09this bags running crazy defenses so it's just a tough team to run into at their place in the
07:14playoffs so you got to just you got to beat them out in the regular season that way you get the home
07:19game and then you can go from there i think that's the biggest thing they got to win more than them in
07:26the regular season find a way hopefully the afc west helps them out a little bit this year because
07:31the chiefs have just been running through that thing they've been running through there for years
07:36so hopefully the afc west can find a way to knock them off some games the bills you know i'm saying
07:42they run into them knock them off i know we play them this year maybe we can help them out and then
07:46the bills can get a home playoff game and it'll be a little bit better for them
07:49uh yeah i mean they got the title so i guess right now yeah you know i mean like it's
07:56they got the title so we got to go out there and i think everybody's got to go out there and get
08:02after them um when you're running with the baton i think all the teams want to get after you so
08:07yeah they got the title they got some they got some talent over there um really really good players
08:12so i think they're and their quarterback's consistent he's really really good he's a really
08:17good leader um i think and i think that's the coolest part about him he leads the team defenses
08:22rocking but so we you know they're they're the team to beat i guess because they're the reigning
08:28champs but you know i think a lot of teams feel like they got a good chance to go up against them
08:33um it should be good we play them this year so i'm excited about that opportunity
