A double murder in Delhi’s Rohini has shocked the city. Police say Yogesh Sehgal allegedly killed his wife, Priya Sehgal, and mother-in-law, Kusum Sinha.

00:00A quarrel over birthday gifts escalated into a double murder in Delhi's Rohini.

00:04This man allegedly killed his wife and mother-in-law with a pair of scissors after a domestic dispute.

00:08Police have identified the accused as UK's Sahagal, who was arrested for murdering his wife,

00:1234-year-old Priya Sahagal and his mother-in-law, 63-year-old Kusum Sinha inside their home.

00:18The violence broke out just days after the couple celebrated the birthday of their son,

00:21Chirag, on August 28. Police officials say an argument over the gifts exchanged at the party

00:26spiraled into a deadly confrontation. Kusum had stayed back at their daughter's

00:29residence to try and resolve the tension between the couple.

00:33But on August 30, when her son and Priya's brother Meg Sinha was unable to reach her over the phone,

00:37he rushed to the flat. He found the door locked from the outside with bloodstains near the entrance.

00:42On breaking the lock, he discovered the bodies of his mother and sister lying in a pool of blood.

00:46Police recovered the bloodstained clothes and the pair of scissors believed to be the murder weapon.

00:50Yukesh, who was initially absconding with his children after the crime,

00:54was later tracked down and arrested. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
