00:00Previously on The Block, House Five took our top spot in Living and Dining Week.
00:06It's Matt Roddy!
00:12Sonny and Alicia let fly with accusations of design theft.
00:16We come up with an idea down at Hepburn to heat our seat,
00:20and then all of a sudden I see Wyatt there today,
00:22so clearly it's probably an afterthought rather than a forethought.
00:25No, it was already a forethought. I said to Ken.
00:27So how did you know how to come up with the way around it?
00:29I just asked the Chippy to put a seat in,
00:31and then they said,
00:32what about that access hole and blah, blah, blah?
00:35When someone lies straight to your face, like, to me that's the worst.
00:38I'm out. I don't believe that bull**** for a second.
00:40And even though the House Two girls denied any wrongdoing,
00:43they also made this giant declaration.
00:46You know what? You've done me dirty.
00:48If we win, you can have the caravan as a gift.
00:52Like, so what?
00:54Well, they must have a guilty conscience then.
00:56You don't see it as an admission of guilt
00:58that you've stolen an idea?
00:59No.
01:00Absolutely not at all.
01:01I'm done. I don't need to hear anymore.
01:03Tonight, our blockheads get to work on their rumpus room builds.
01:08Rumpus.
01:09Rumpus.
01:10Rumpus.
01:11Rumpus.
01:12Rumpus.
01:13We've also got the spa challenge.
01:14The countdown is on for our massive Hepburn bathhouse challenge reveal.
01:18We've been there every day.
01:19We need to paint.
01:20We need lighting to put in.
01:22The prize is $260,000.
01:24Titanium caravan.
01:26What?
01:28Massive prize.
01:29It's a make or break week for Emma and Ben.
01:31It'll only break if you drop it.
01:33And extreme measures are taken to keep design ideas secret.
01:38Operation Zen.
01:40Is anyone looking?
01:42It may not look like it just yet, but there's a bumper week ahead here in chilly Dales for
01:56this week.
01:57It's week six, which not only means it's rumpus room week, but it also signifies the halfway
02:03point of the season.
02:05Oh, another week, eh?
02:07Nice.
02:08Here we go.
02:10Six weeks, we've hit the halfway mark.
02:13I think it's followed by.
02:14Six weeks has flown.
02:16It's going so fast.
02:17I hurt in every place possible.
02:20I miss the kids a lot.
02:21Everyone misses home.
02:23My previous self has eroded away.
02:25We have been here for 17 years, 45 days and 5,942 minutes.
02:36I felt really flat this morning.
02:39I think it was a mixture of things this morning.
02:42We've been ripped at judging.
02:44I was tired.
02:46It was going to be our son's birthday this week.
02:49We've been fighting with the girls.
02:51I was just like, eh.
02:54We had troubles with layout all last week.
02:56We knew we had trouble with layout.
02:58It's pretty much what they ripped us on.
03:00One, two, three.
03:03It's a three metre wide living space.
03:06A small apartment has the exact same space as this.
03:11They have really, really stuffed this room up.
03:15Yeah, disappointing to, you know, go hard and get reamed.
03:20But onwards and upwards.
03:23I love Sonny and Cher so much.
03:26They are exceptional.
03:28But, look, let's talk about the lounge room.
03:32Can we talk about the lounge room?
03:33We're going to get there.
03:34OK.
03:35OK.
03:36All right, folks.
03:37Better grab your popcorn.
03:38Because it's time for another round of Open for Inspection.
03:41And for the first time this season,
03:43Sonny and Alicia crashed and burned
03:45to land in last place on the leaderboard.
03:48The domain open for inspections is, um...
03:52It's normally my favourite part of the week.
03:54Yeah.
03:55But we've been ripped at judging.
03:57It just gets me down a bit.
03:59Especially two weeks in a row.
04:00I'm normally pretty positive.
04:01When can we talk about their lounge room?
04:04It's coming.
04:05Well, they say to get rid of all the furniture
04:07and to start again.
04:08Doesn't this look like nice rustic country?
04:11Yeah.
04:14The lounge room has got a three-seater,
04:18which really is a two-seater,
04:20and a single armchair.
04:22One, two, three, four seats.
04:24If the house sleeps potentially ten,
04:27I am speechless.
04:28I think it's nice.
04:29There's just not enough area for people to sit down.
04:31True.
04:32What was their feedback again?
04:33I don't know.
04:34This was really, really harsh.
04:35I don't get why they hated the furniture.
04:37Far out.
04:38You can style.
04:39This is cute.
04:40Or maybe Sonny didn't.
04:41Oh, well.
04:43Emma and Ben landed in fourth place on 22 points,
04:47with their layout also scrutinised by the judges last night.
04:51The connection to the outside
04:53and your living spaces sell the dream.
04:56This is selling...
04:57If you turn your neck a lot,
04:59you'll be able to enjoy it.
05:00Oh, you're pumped for not looking at the view.
05:03Why is no-one utilising that view?
05:05Hmm.
05:06Especially this house.
05:07I like what they've done with this table here.
05:09Yeah.
05:10Unlucky, guys.
05:12Han and Kan fed much better than their neighbours last week,
05:15nailing their layout,
05:16and a very competitive score of 27 and a half points.
05:21Oh, look at this table.
05:23Yeah, isn't it sick with the...
05:24Yeah.
05:27You're ****ing me.
05:28Look at the rug.
05:29That's the rug that I ordered that didn't arrive.
05:32That's my rug.
05:33That's our stone.
05:35House two.
05:36Look, we've just had the blot with the girls,
05:38so I probably...
05:40I didn't feel it was that great.
05:44You go sit here and watch TV.
05:46That's why we didn't put the fireplace where...
05:48Cos that's where we were going to, remember?
05:50Hmm.
05:51Hmm.
05:52And we were like, nah.
05:53Cos then you jam it in the corner.
05:55But apparently this is what they wanted.
05:58Landing an equal first place with their living-slash-dining masterpiece
06:02was Britton Taz,
06:03who was sadly relegated to second spot
06:06after the intervention of one Mr. Dale S4.
06:11Wow.
06:12Ooh.
06:13Ooh.
06:16Oh.
06:17Oh, wow.
06:18Yeah.
06:19Amazing.
06:20Absolutely amazing.
06:21I think they got robbed.
06:22Like, incredible.
06:23I think they got robbed.
06:24God damn it.
06:26Jeez, tell you what,
06:27there is nothing in this.
06:29Between us and it,
06:31this is spectacular.
06:35I woke up feeling all right,
06:37but this is just making it worse.
06:41Wow.
06:42I love it.
06:43I'd give them the win.
06:45Now I see why when they get to ours,
06:47they're like, start again.
06:48And it was the boys in house five, Robbie and Matt,
06:53who found themselves finally back in the winner's circle last night
06:57with a resounding gnome inflated 29 and a half points.
07:03Ooh.
07:04Oh, wow.
07:05Look at this fireplace.
07:06Oh my God.
07:08Oh my God.
07:09Okay.
07:11I get it.
07:12Coming around the corner and seeing their layout.
07:15Stunning.
07:16Far out.
07:17Look at their dining table.
07:18They absolutely deserve the win.
07:21Do you see the huge hole outside?
07:25Holy.
07:26Oh my God.
07:27Oh, it's getting deeper.
07:33We're not hiding it anymore.
07:34We left all the blinds open
07:36so everyone can come have a look at our gaping big hole.
07:40Wow.
07:41Mate, that must be so, do you?
07:42If it was at another house, I'd be going,
07:44what are you doing in that hole?
07:45But not one person's done it.
07:47Yeah, but still we wouldn't tell them.
07:50Yeah, it's obviously a cellar.
07:52It's a wine cellar down there.
07:54Jesus Christ.
07:55Jesus.
07:56What wine cellar?
07:58What wine cellar?
08:00So with the open for inspections now complete,
08:02all our living and dining rooms are now live on Domain.
08:07Every like detail, like the tiling, I think it's just sick.
08:14I actually woke up feeling all right now.
08:16I just feel crap.
08:18After I finished the Domain Opens,
08:20I just felt so disappointed in myself
08:23and just embarrassed, I think.
08:25I was embarrassed that that was the best we could do.
08:28I understand we deserve to come last.
08:30Absolutely.
08:31It just was not where it needed to be.
08:36I was sad Monday.
08:38I felt like absolute crap.
08:41He's not happy today.
08:43I think he's just having a rough day
08:45down and out.
08:48I feel like he needs a break.
08:52Sonny's a very up person.
08:54So when he's down, I don't really know how to cope.
08:58He's the one that normally picks us up.
08:59So I just said to Sonny, like, let's just get out of here.
09:03Let's just get in the car, whether we go for a swim
09:05or let's just go for a drive to Bunnings,
09:07because we needed some things for the week.
09:08So...
09:09How was the car trip?
09:10I don't know how to make you better.
09:11Love her.
09:12You know, when Leish sees me down, she's like, well...
09:13Not much bothers Sonny.
09:14Yeah, not much bothers Sonny.
09:15Yeah, not much bothers me.
09:16And when it bothers me, it actually bothers me.
09:17And so...
09:18That makes me worry.
09:19Yeah.
09:20My best mate gave a call.
09:21She, um...
09:22You know, I had called her, and she said,
09:23I don't know how to make you better.
09:24Let me know.
09:25I'm so sorry.
09:26I don't know how to make you better.
09:27I'm so sorry.
09:28I'm so sorry.
09:29I'm so sorry.
09:30I'm so sorry.
09:31I'm so sorry.
09:32I don't know how to make you better.
09:33Or what?
09:34Yeah, when Leish sees me down, she's like, well...
09:36Not much bothers Sonny.
09:37Yeah, not much bothers me.
09:38And when it bothers me, it actually bothers me.
09:39And so...
09:40That makes me worry.
09:41Yeah.
09:42me worry. Yeah. My best mate gave a call. She, you know, I call her quite often when
09:50I'm driving and just called and told her about our night. I think it's just been two weeks
09:55in a row we've just been flogged. So you're like, I don't know. You start to question
10:00yourself. Oh, well, I already do because I'm up against all these other amazing people
10:04and I'm so out of my depth. I'm like, why am I here? Yeah, but the purpose of the show
10:10was for normal people to come in and give a go. You guys are actually what the show's
10:15about. Yeah, and we're failing. I think what tipped us was our son's birthday on Wednesday.
10:26Sian has organised our son's, some of his presents for him. I'm going to wrap his little thing
10:33up and I'm going to go tomorrow and I'm going to get him a big bunch of foil balloons and
10:38get him, it's like a blue number, blue or silver number nine or some balloons. Thank
10:43you. That's all right. Sonny just had to get out of the car. He's correct. He's what? He's
10:53correct. Oh. Someone once said, the best view comes from the hardest climb. And I reckon
11:14right about now, Sonny and Alicia are probably feeling like they've barely made it to base
11:19camp at Everest. You all right? Love you. Love you too.
11:31Come back to site and I said, all right, I'm done. I'm done feeling sorry for myself. And
11:34then Taz come and checked on me and seen how it was.
11:37So yeah, I just left for a bit. Just went to Bunnings. I'm all right. I just had to
11:42be here. I was just like, I just needed a spell. I've hardly left the place. I just had to
11:46go. We know what they're going through. You know, like, we miss our kids like everyone
11:52does that's got kids here and everyone misses home at one stage or another. And yeah, to be
11:59going through it with Sonny and Alicia is something that, you know, we rely on each other to get through
12:04it with. It's probably why they're our closest friends. Yeah. I'm still confronted with the
12:08same issues, but like, I feel better now that I just took a couple of hours to sort myself
12:13out. That's all you need. Anyway, thanks. Love another chat. Love you, mate. Love you too.
12:20I was starting to feel like I'd got most of it out, you know. I was starting to feel a little
12:25better. Rumpus room this week. Rumpus. Rumpus. Right down the back wing of the house, hidden
12:39behind the enclave, is the rumpus room. Well, I'm not sure about the enclave, but technically
12:45speaking, the rumpus room sits at the rear of the left wing of each house behind the kids'
12:51rooms with direct access to the backyard. What does a rumpus room actually mean? A rumpus
12:58room is sort of like a theatre, cinema room, like another seating entertainment sort of
13:02area. Yeah, rumpus, I think, can be a lot of different things. Put a pool table in there,
13:07put yoga mats in there. Yeah, it's a waste of that. Yeah. Some would say it's an easy room.
13:11Some would. I've had a clear vision for the rumpus for quite some time, even I think from
13:16the minute we found out we were coming onto the show. Any of the teams could pull out an absolutely
13:20game-changing design this week with a rumpus room. We've got a 10k budget this week. Not
13:25enough. It's not. Yeah, look, $10,000 is a tight one. Now it gets tricky. It's going to be carpet
13:35in here, but maybe with a rug as well. Carpet or floorboards? Carpet. Not the floorboards?
13:41No, locked in carpet like the week that we did all the flooring. We could change it. Yeah,
13:46maybe. We've decided to put floorboards down. Feeling a little deflated to start the week.
13:53A little lost. Yeah, lost is a good word. Sort of just... Yeah. A lot of this design stuff
13:59does fall on them shoulders and it is unfair. I like that as well, how it's like bookshelf
14:06and then that bit's like built out a bit and then that's like timber. So we could do that
14:10like along there. Our rumpus room is going to be a bit more of like a second sitting room.
14:18Emma and Venn's design plans so far include a wall-mounted TV on the left, luxe leather lounge,
14:24positioned to make use of House One's amazing view, a couple of occasional chairs and a large
14:30feature art piece on the side wall. At this stage it's a little bit scary as to
14:35whether we're going to get the layout right. Yeah. It doesn't really like make much sense yet.
14:43So week six, rumpus room. So we made the decision fairly early on in consultation
14:49with real estate agent, landscaper as well as our chippy that this area is not really
14:56somewhere where you sit and just watch TV. I mean we've got the living room for that.
15:01People come here, they're very into their health, into their wellness. So an idea was thrown around
15:06was to turn it into like a gym or a wellness area and it will make sense come landscape week for us
15:12because the plan is directly outside our rumpus we have like a spa, a sauna and an ice spa.
15:19So it's a whole wellness area. So that inside out flow.
15:22We haven't really revealed any of our, you know, top secret plans.
15:26Our rumpus room defines the term point of difference.
15:31I don't think you're going to see another wellness area on the block this year.
15:35Britain Taz's super secret wellness room idea will see them out in some light timber flooring,
15:41double arch mirrors with a wall mounted telly in between, two lifespan reformer pilates machines
15:48and home pro sheer curtains draped across the walls, doors and ceiling.
15:53And you didn't get to say, but I'm hell good at pilates and stuff.
15:55I am. Do you think you're good at it?
15:58It is Monday and the plan for this week is obviously rumpus room and we're making an entertainment space,
16:08a place where you can hang out, watch a movie, unwind, relax.
16:12So focus on big couch on the back wall.
16:16And then a gorgeous wrap around couch called the club nine sofa,
16:20coffered ceiling overhead with some acoustic wood paneling.
16:24And then we will have home pro velvet curtains and drapes that are lit up from a recess.
16:29Just locked in the lighting plan with Anton and Beacon.
16:33Hey Anton, how are you going?
16:35Good, good. What's up?
16:36Um, so I've just sent you a photo of like the room layout.
16:40Hannah wants an LED strip through the bulk head of the coffered ceiling.
16:45We've pointed where the star downline goes.
16:47Yep.
16:48And then the arch where the TV is.
16:50Yep.
16:51And then there's two bookcases either side of that.
16:54Beautiful.
16:55Thanks Anton.
16:56The vibe we're creating as well.
16:58Like you feel like...
16:59It's cosy.
17:00Yeah, it's cosy.
17:01You can fit like 10 to 12 people.
17:03The wow factor is this is where I'd like to come if I was hungover.
17:08Wow.
17:09I came back and yeah, everything's just snowballing.
17:16I've missed the deadline of Beacon.
17:18The lights had to be in.
17:19I had no idea.
17:20Because normally it's always Tuesday at 10.30.
17:22I rang in at one o'clock to be told that I'd already missed the deadline.
17:26I've already missed the order.
17:27I don't mind picking it up.
17:28Like I don't care but like...
17:29Where's my reminder?
17:30It was two hours ago.
17:31I am angry.
17:32I'm frustrated at myself because ultimately it's my fault.
17:33It's not their fault.
17:34Now I've got no light.
17:35I don't know what size TV I'm supposed to be buying.
17:36What's the TV that we got?
17:37That's simple.
17:38What TV that we got?
17:39What TV that we have?
17:40I don't know what you mean.
17:41I had a full blown panic attack meltdown.
17:42I don't know anything.
17:43I don't even know what TV to order.
17:44Because you order that and that's wrong.
17:45That's a wrong size.
17:46I can't even pick a couch.
17:47I'm like maybe it's too big.
17:48Maybe it's wrong.
17:49Everything is so rushed as is and then now you've only got four days.
17:52An order is supposed to be in this morning.
17:53You know what the time is?
17:54It's not their fault.
17:55It's not their fault.
17:56Now I've got no light.
17:57I don't know what size TV I'm supposed to be buying.
17:58What's the TV that we got?
17:59That's simple.
18:00What TV that we got?
18:01What TV that we got?
18:02What TV that we have?
18:03I don't know what you mean?
18:04What TV that we have?
18:05Everything is so rushed as is and then now you've only got four days.
18:09An order is supposed to be in this morning.
18:10No one told me.
18:13Yep.
18:14Not my finest moment.
18:15But I've had a few of those since being here.
18:17But I am who I am.
18:20So I thought I'll get away from the block because Sunny was starting to feel better
18:25and I was actually starting to feel worse.
18:30So I thought you know what?
18:32I'm going to go to Hepburn and see how we're going around there with our spa challenge.
18:36I'm at Hepburn Springs and Leish comes in.
18:40I could just instantly tell that something wasn't right with her.
18:44Are you okay?
18:45Um, no.
18:46What happened babe?
18:47I just don't want to be here anymore.
18:49I don't want to be here.
18:51I just want to go home.
18:54Oh poor Brit.
18:55I don't think she knew what to do.
18:57And poor Adrian.
18:58We were both, yeah, I was very overwhelmed and overstimulated I think after the day.
19:03So yeah, I just couldn't hold it in anymore.
19:05I don't miss anything my kids do.
19:07Like nothing.
19:08You know after the judging and the feedback and then also really hit home because it was
19:14Koa her son's birthday and she just felt like just major mum guilt.
19:17Let's go get a coffee and just.
19:19I have to scrub my ceiling.
19:21You okay?
19:22You want a hug?
19:23Yeah.
19:25We always have good hugs.
19:26Come on, we always tear up.
19:27Look, you go through crap.
19:29Everyone does in your day to day life and you think, you know what?
19:31I'll just quit or I'll just won't worry.
19:33I'll just move on or whatever.
19:34But you know, if you stay in this mindset of, you know, wallowing yourself pity, you're
19:40not going to get anywhere.
19:41I'll just get this done.
19:43Thank you though.
19:44I can't believe you're brought in cannolis.
19:46I was meant to go and do that.
19:47I was actually going to give them some cannolis to say thank you, but she beat me to the punchline.
19:52I mean, I love Brit, but yeah, that was just, that just got me.
19:55Now I've got to eat this on camera.
19:57That's alright.
19:58I'll hide the camera again.
19:59I'll do it for you to see.
20:02How good is that?
20:05I ate a cannoli whilst, whilst crying.
20:08It made me feel embarrassed, but it was good.
20:11We can hear beep, beep, beep.
20:16We hear this car crash into a tree in an embankment like a couple of metres behind us.
20:23To get even more of the block, head to Domain and see the latest block listings.
20:36See room reveals, floor plans and behind the scenes content.
20:40Only on Domain.
20:42It's the midway point of the block dials for this week.
20:49And it's all systems go on a brand new room build.
20:53Over at House 5, riding a wave of confidence after another epic room win last night, Matt
20:59is already back at the grindstone planning his rumpus room design with his build a day.
21:04I think it does need that room, like rumpus room needs some storage.
21:10This wall we could do some like pretty cool like timber floating shelves or...
21:15I want nothing in this room this week.
21:17Okay.
21:18I want to spend no money.
21:19Okay, that's cool.
21:20Yep.
21:21Yep.
21:22Got it.
21:23I understand.
21:24Yep.
21:25We have got still this to pay for and to fit it out.
21:26I'd rather do a really clean, safe room.
21:33So if we're going to go for a win, we might be an extra 5, 10k out of pocket, which means
21:38we're behind for the wine cellar.
21:40It'll give better odds for us not to spend that money, put it into the wine cellar and
21:46go for the Combain challenge, but still deliver a red hot room.
21:49We want to keep the same theme as we did in our living and dining with the tile unit.
21:53We want a big TV and we just want a really big, comfy couch.
22:00I let Matt have a little bit of freedom here.
22:03Let me.
22:04Like he gives me permission.
22:05He didn't have a f***ing choice.
22:07Well, last time I gave you freedom, we got a bedhead.
22:14Anyway, if we can save two grand and come in about eight grand, we've saved two and
22:20hopefully win 10.
22:21So it's a 12k week for us.
22:22Dave, what's this one called here?
22:24Well, we use the track saw to cut the seed out.
22:28Yeah, so Dave taught me how to use the track saw.
22:31We love Big Daddy Dave.
22:32Big Daddy Dave.
22:33He looks after us.
22:34I said, cancel an extra labour this week, mate.
22:36We've got you.
22:37And he goes, are you sure?
22:39He said, yeah, yeah, we'll be sweet.
22:42Whoa, oh, oh.
22:43If you work in Claire's영.
22:52Do I go down?
22:53Yeah.
22:54Yip.
22:56Swapping hair dries for hammers hey?
22:57Dropping hairdryers for hammers, eh?
23:04Hairdryers for hammers.
23:05They're transferable skills, you know?
23:07Cutting hair, cutting timber.
23:08It's all the same stuff, isn't it?
23:11How much are you saving doing this?
23:14Dignity.
23:16Saving dignity.
23:18And about a grand.
23:25Hi, mate.
23:26Hi, dog.
23:27How you doing?
23:28Good.
23:29Good.
23:30Yeah, we got a call from home today.
23:33Boston was playing in his grand final and he came away with a win today.
23:36Well done, buddy.
23:37You're stoked?
23:38Yeah.
23:39Congratulations.
23:41I'm so stoked for you.
23:43The first one that Dad and I are out there and you win one.
23:45Bloody hell.
23:46Yeah.
23:47Oh, well, we're proud of you.
23:49It stung because I'm that mum on the sideline.
23:53You know I'm at a game when I'm there.
23:55I'm an encouraging mum.
23:56That's what we call it.
23:58All right, love you guys.
24:02And now a clearly re-energised Alicia is ready to turn things up a notch this week.
24:08Well, I'm colour drenching this week.
24:11You're what?
24:12Colour drenching.
24:13What's that mean?
24:14Everything's the same colour.
24:15Roof, walls, everything.
24:16That's called colour drenching?
24:18Yeah.
24:19Wow.
24:20I've been on the edge to do this in other rooms.
24:21But I mean, we can't get any worse.
24:23If they hate this, we're already used to being at the bottom.
24:26So why not?
24:27Everything in that room will be the same colour.
24:30We're going to have a large TV on that wall.
24:33A big bookshelf.
24:34A big, beautiful, comfy couch.
24:35Warm space.
24:36Warm space that you can also look outside to the backyard.
24:39I don't know if I want to take it down like a deep green or deep blue or reddy brown sort
24:45of colours or originally I wanted to really push a burgundy.
24:49So I'm not sure.
24:50I'm going to take a lot of samples and see how we go.
24:53Oh, look at those cows.
24:58Do you reckon they're statues?
24:59Do you reckon they're walking?
25:00I love doing outdoor activities.
25:03And I've got my cute fishing outfit on.
25:06Oh, wow.
25:08MG Monday Getaway with Scotty Cam and we have gone to the Tukey Trout Farm.
25:23G'day fellas, come on in.
25:33Robbie and Matt, meet Robert.
25:35Hi Robert.
25:36I'm Matt.
25:37Nice to meet you.
25:38Hi Robbie.
25:39Nice to meet you.
25:40Boys, what we have to do today is catch our dinner.
25:41Oh, awesome.
25:42Sounds great.
25:43Remember the first time we had dinner with him, we were in our robes naked.
25:46G'day Scotty.
25:47Hello.
25:48Scotty Cam's had a good couple of times with us.
25:52So, always point the rod towards the water.
25:57We've chucked some rods in.
25:58We had to catch our dinner.
25:59Caught a couple of trout each.
26:00Caught a couple of trout.
26:01That was fun.
26:02Oh, Scott's on.
26:03Oh.
26:04Straight away.
26:05There we go.
26:06You beauty.
26:07This land was made for you and me.
26:10Well done.
26:12Who in their wildest dreams would ever think they'd be having a beer with Scotty Cam fishing
26:17for trout?
26:18This land is your land and this land is my land.
26:23This land was made for you and me.
26:27Well, this is nice.
26:28He said it was a million dollar view.
26:30It was a billion dollar view.
26:31But the highlight of the highlight of the highlight.
26:35So, as we're trout fishing, we can hear beep, beep, beep in this car behind us and Robert,
26:44the owner, goes, oh, don't worry.
26:45It's just my grandson.
26:46That's my little two-year-oldy.
26:48Two and a half-year-oldy.
26:49I'll just give him the horn.
26:52Before we know, we hear this car star go through a bush and then crash into a tree in an embankment
27:00like a couple of metres behind us, we turn around, the car's running, the wheels are going
27:04into this tree.
27:08Oh, the little fella.
27:09There's a Dahatsu Sirion in a tree trunk.
27:12Robert has walked up to the car, opened the door, turned the key off, pulled out a two-year-old
27:19by his hand.
27:20What'd you do, were you?
27:21Can you come with me?
27:22You turned the key on, did you?
27:24I'll get him back to his mum.
27:27And we're standing there going like, uh, how is no one talking about this?
27:32Or panicked.
27:33My mum would have dragged me out by the scruff of my neck and gone, don't drive a car into
27:38a tree, you're two years old.
27:41That kid will remember this afternoon for the rest of his life.
27:45I think I will too.
27:47Good luck getting that front wheel drive car out of there.
27:49Is Em, is Em going to work?
27:50Oh, do you want to?
27:51Yeah.
27:52Oh, yeah.
27:53I was just going to sit next to you guys.
27:54Oh, yeah.
27:55Yep, I was next to Han.
27:56Seemed to not be able to escape her.
27:57At the moment it feels a little awkward, because we've had a lot to say, we've said
28:14it to them.
28:15Han and Can were accused of stealing House Fall's bathhouse heated seat idea.
28:20Girls!
28:21Yeah, like we're just f***ing annoyed, you know, because whether or not you've been
28:24thinking about whatever, you've got to admit how it looks.
28:26They've obviously figured out how to do it because we've done it.
28:29Yeah.
28:30You don't see it as an admission of guilt that you've stolen an idea?
28:34No.
28:35Absolutely not.
28:36I'm done.
28:37I don't need to hear anymore.
28:38Let's go around the table and share our highlights.
28:43Simo came in and said, yeah, that's neat installation and left.
28:46Lovely.
28:47Highlight of the day.
28:48What about you, Han?
28:50I figured I'd chat before, to be honest.
28:53I did have a chat with Leish and we did have a moment earlier.
28:58Honestly, like from the bottom of my heart, I honestly would give the shirt off my back.
29:04I want you to know that.
29:05I'm sorry.
29:06Yeah, I know.
29:07That how things...
29:08Yeah, it's just been a f***ing rough week.
29:10Rough last week, rough this week and then, yeah.
29:14Look, yeah, to be honest, I'd just rather accept the apology and move on.
29:19Things are going to happen here.
29:21It is what it is.
29:23We love Sunny and Leish.
29:25The whole challenge thing is water under the bridge and we can all move on from it.
29:32It's just awkward, I think.
29:34Was it a coincidence?
29:35I don't know.
29:36I'm going to...
29:37I've said my piece.
29:39I'm just going to see how I feel for a bit, I think.
29:42We're going to have dinner with Scotty.
29:49The food was spectacular.
29:52Wine selection was amazing.
29:55Congratulations.
29:56Thank you very much.
29:57Couple of guys winning rooms, eh?
29:59Couple of guys winning rooms.
30:00But boys, I tell you what, you've won plenty.
30:03This week was massive.
30:04This was a...
30:05It could be a block winning week for us.
30:07You realise, boys, when we get to Sunday, we're halfway.
30:10Already?
30:11Gone quick, hasn't it?
30:12It's gone very quick.
30:13We are having a private dinner.
30:15Oh, here it is.
30:16Thank you, mate.
30:17And also, do you know what made the night better?
30:19What?
30:20While I was in there filleting the trout, look what I found.
30:23In the big one.
30:24Oh!
30:25I forgot about that.
30:26$10,000.
30:27There you go.
30:28I thought you touched that one today.
30:30MG.
30:31MG Monday getaway.
30:32Oh, how good.
30:3310 grand.
30:37So I told Scotty, I said, look mate, I know this is your show and it's us three, but I've got
30:39a couple of special guests that are going to join us tonight.
30:41And in the walk, Alyssa and Brooks.
30:43And Scotty was over the moon.
30:44Lovely to meet you.
30:45And Brooks.
30:46Brooks.
30:47There he is.
30:48We've been waiting for you to turn up.
30:51Who's that?
30:52Who's that?
30:53This Scotty cam.
30:54Welcome to the block.
30:57Cheers.
30:58Cheers, guys.
30:59Cheers.
31:00And welcome brother.
31:01Cheers 10 grand.
31:02Cheers matey.
31:04Just throw the money away, hey?
31:07White House 2.
31:10No way we're going to fit through this.
31:12When we ordered it, we didn't have a door.
31:13When it arrived and we tried to get in the room, there was a door frame.
31:22Okay, well this sucks.
31:25What are you today, Taylor?
31:26Good.
31:27New day.
31:28New day.
31:29Yep.
31:32See ya.
31:33Wait.
31:34You forgot a coffee.
31:35What coffee?
31:36Uh, is this cash?
31:37No.
31:38No.
31:39No.
31:40No.
31:41No.
31:42No.
31:43No.
31:44No.
31:45No.
31:46No.
31:47No.
31:48No.
31:49No.
31:50No.
31:51No.
31:52No.
31:53No.
31:54No.
31:55No.
31:56No.
31:57No.
31:58No.
31:59Fuck yes.
32:00Thank you too.
32:01$5,000 from Cafe.
32:02From the Cafe.
32:04That's okay.
32:05You good to bless.
32:06You guys, you guys.
32:07Sorry Cass.
32:08Can I get two coffees?
32:10Is that...
32:11We got the lovely surprise from Shayla and Tina at McAfee.
32:16They chose our room for the $5,000 McAfee reward.
32:20And the reason being, the wine cellar.
32:22Oh my god, did you see that?
32:26Sick ass.
32:29I know what I like.
32:30Yay!
32:31Thanks McCafe.
32:34Over in House One, Emma and Ben have a super busy day ahead with several errands to run,
32:40but only one car to run them in.
32:43Let's ask Google Gemini Live.
32:45Good idea.
32:47Hi Google Gemini, can you please create a schedule for Ben and myself?
32:51I need to go to Globe West in Springvale and Ben needs to go to Bunnings in Ballarat,
32:57but we are sharing the one car.
33:00You'll want to hit the road pretty early.
33:01Ben should leave around 8.45am to get there by 10am.
33:04Great, thank you.
33:09You're welcome.
33:10Now get on with it.
33:14So with a fully planned schedule now in hand,
33:16it's time for Ben to head off on his first errand of the day.
33:20I went down to Bunnings and needed to get a few hand tools.
33:24A couple of things.
33:25Yep.
33:26I need a stud finder.
33:27Got a new tape.
33:28Stanley knife.
33:29Stanley knife.
33:30Jeez mate, that's definitely not a knife mate.
33:32That's a knife.
33:33Ames set me up with some good hand tools that seem to go missing on sight.
33:38We've got a little bit of theft going on.
33:40It's probably me that's losing them.
33:42It's definitely you losing them.
33:43Yeah, they're probably getting plastered over in between studs.
33:46Who knows where they are?
33:48Yep, losing hand tools is a classic rookie error.
33:51And speaking of rookie errors, did you hear the one about measuring once and gutting twice?
33:57No way we're going to fit through that.
33:59Um.
34:00Why not?
34:01Because it's way too tall.
34:03It's 2.7.
34:04Um.
34:06The two core arch that we designed, um, when we ordered it we didn't have a door.
34:12When it arrived and we tried to get in the room, there was a door frame.
34:16Trying to get a 2.7 wall through a ****.
34:18That door.
34:19Can we get it through the front door and down?
34:22All of the door frames are now in.
34:24Okay, well this sucks.
34:25Um.
34:29We cut it in half that way.
34:31Talk to Peter if we can cut up here somewhere.
34:32Yeah.
34:33He might be able to feed it in.
34:34Yeah.
34:35So yeah, we just called Pete from Truecore and he's like, yeah, just dip it down the middle.
34:40You'll be fine.
34:41You can put it back together.
34:42Hey, do you mind if we take a photo of you?
34:49It's not hilarious at all.
34:50There it is.
34:53Give it a slap, Benny.
34:55Tell it off.
34:56You're right into the corner.
34:57Should be...
34:58There will be a large recess with the TV and entertainment unit and sound system and two bookshelves on the side to house knick-knacks, games, cocktails, tequila, all that good stuff.
35:23It's a beautiful sunny day here in Dalesford, even with the cold wind of winds well on their way here to the block.
35:30A not-so-subtle scent of summer hangs in the air.
35:34Yep.
35:35That's right.
35:36Because it's...
35:37Drop-in day for plungy pools.
35:38A few weeks back, this bloke can drop by the block to lock in some plungy pool orders for this year's blockings.
35:45We have a brand new plungy called the plungy quad.
35:49Right.
35:50Square pool.
35:51It's designed as a cold plunge.
35:52So what are you thinking for the yard?
35:54What's the...
35:55Whatever the biggest is.
35:56Right.
35:57Okay.
35:59And today, our first order of plungy pools are about to drop.
36:03Look at that.
36:04All good, Taz?
36:05Happy?
36:06Can we actually do it that way?
36:07Not now.
36:08Too late.
36:09Oh.
36:10I tried to hide my reformers last night because I got back late after site was shut.
36:24I'm going to try and secretly unload these giant, big, look-like coffins.
36:28You know, there's still room to pivot and we're just worried about, you know, getting our ideas blasted everywhere.
36:35But a big crane starts picking up plungy pools.
36:38So everyone's out the backyard watching plungy pools get dropped in.
36:42So it's like...
36:43Perfect time.
36:48It was Operation Zen.
36:49Was it?
36:50Operation Zen.
36:51Operation Zen.
36:52Operation Zen.
36:53Operation Zen.
36:54Operation Zen.
36:55Is anyone looking?
36:57We have a pool party.
36:58What do you reckon?
36:59Everyone's looking at plungy pools getting dropped in and Brick comes out the back and
37:04me and the boys grab the heaviest boxes I've ever felt in my life and drag them inside the house.
37:10Distraction with the pool is key to keep operations then under wraps.
37:14No one saw anything.
37:16Hmm?
37:17Oh, wow.
37:18I didn't think it was going to be that big.
37:21She's beautiful.
37:22She is beautiful.
37:23She's big and thick.
37:25And hard.
37:26And beautiful.
37:27Pretty heavy there, Taz?
37:28It's so heavy.
37:29Nah, we're going to go to the bedroom.
37:32Oh, they weren't that heavy.
37:33He was just carrying on.
37:34Oh, here we go.
37:35Cramp.
37:36What's going on, mate?
37:37The girls have gone and put in strip light right where you've put in strip light.
37:46So it's alleged that Hannah Can are now stealing ideas again.
37:53There's a busy few days ahead here at the block this week.
38:06Right now it's early Arvo Tuesday, which leaves just over five days until Rumpus Room reveals this Sunday.
38:13But before we get to that, there's also a rather large challenge to in less than three days' time, which also happens to be a public holiday.
38:22Already a short week trying to do a Rumpus Room.
38:25Rumpus.
38:26Rumpus.
38:27Rumpus.
38:28Rumpus.
38:29Rumpus.
38:30We've also got the Spa Challenge at Hepburn Bathhouse.
38:34Ah, yes, the Hepburn Springs Bathhouse Challenge.
38:37Our regular block viewers will remember that a few weeks back I tasked this year's blockheads with one big, monumental challenge.
38:45You'll be transforming these rooms behind me here down the hallway from rubble to luxury.
38:52So we all got given a space.
38:55oh my god it's an absolute disaster it's pretty rank in there yeah and of course the challenge
39:05this size requires an equally significant prize prize at two hundred and sixty thousand dollar
39:11titanium caravan massive prize massive massive prize and now with the impending deadline fast
39:21approaching this is a make-or-break week to see who will take out the biggest challenge prize ever
39:27seen on the block which will be sold with their house at auction how's the Hepburn challenge going
39:32we've still been giving Hepburn our full attention so we've been there every day yeah doing something
39:37I'm feeling great about Hepburn we're in a good position there we can have the fit off for the
39:42bath tomorrow so we're actually tracking okay well we have to finish the whole thing this week so press
39:48Tim will be going up we need to paint we need the lighting to put in our Hepburn challenge is going
39:53pretty good the Tyler's in there doing the last of the corking yeah but now we need to pick the
39:58stone to go in our bathhouse Emma and Ben have just rocked up to the local quarry planning to leave no
40:03stone unturned to ensure their bathhouse challenge room is pure rock and roll oh my god there's so much
40:18you guys did a hair fix this one oh that's cool we found the most beautiful stone ah blue stone slab
40:28for under the bath and the crew were so helpful and that's pretty fine for transport it wouldn't
40:32yeah they won't no not at all okay no it'll only break if you drop it
40:38maybe we do ask you to help us with the install so the hole drilled in the middle of their new stone
40:49slab Emma and Ben plan to slide the stone over the plumbing pot to sit between their tiles and a
40:56freestanding bath as a standout feature in their challenge room this stone is hopefully going to
41:02create more of more of a character and storytelling to the actual space itself hey guys I watched them
41:09nervously lift this stone off the truck put it on this tiny little dolly and wheel it in can I help
41:20it all we've measured the stone we know how big the space is I'm more worried about getting the stone
41:27into the space around the corners straight right I was getting a little sweaty we actually snaked a
41:45few of the electricians to help as well then they took it off the dolly put it on the ground and they
42:04were all like how we're gonna get our hands out of it from underneath the stone and then they said oh
42:08let's just put all our feet under it they put their feet under there and took their hands out and
42:16then all their feet were stuck so then I had to run and grab big straps and then so we could spread
42:24them underneath and they all held the straps and then lowered it down really happy with how the stone
42:33looks in the room the colors are beautiful I think once the bath sits on top it will look magic so
42:38really happy with it to win in the bathhouse challenge would make up for winning nothing
42:42this whole time on the block yeah we go from zero to hero pretty quickly yeah and while our blockheads
42:51are hard at work building their rooms week in and week out there's one bright spark whose sole purpose
42:56at the block is to shed some light on all our wonderful room designs it's this plug Tim the Sparky
43:03good morning good to see you again what do you got for us we're after everything great we're
43:08a one-stop shop now so we supply everything you need to install every part of what we sell thanks
43:13Dave and thanks to beacon Tim's now fully stocked and ready to light the way to bathhouse bliss in our
43:20Hepburn Springs challenge rooms today so we're here now we're trying to get everything done that we can
43:25for them some of them have told us what they want we're trying to help them out some of them haven't said
43:29anything one team who managed to get their Hepburn lighting plan in and approved by Tim at the 11th
43:35hour is Han and can from house two you asked him the Sparky to do something for you Tim the Sparky had
43:43been there earlier in the week and had ruffed in for other people and I was just like well we've got LEDs
43:49in every like coffer or like arch in our house so naturally for me I was like oh we can put an LED in
43:55there what's going on mate we've been out there at the bath house yep and the girls got in as we were
44:07there asked us to do stuff and they've gone and put in strip light yeah right where you're putting a
44:12strip light yeah it seemed very similar style to what you've done of course it is
44:20do they pull their wires like I put my wires because um I made sure that I made your work as
44:29easy as possible I know I know well they're only getting a strip light on half of their ceiling not
44:34both sides but she did ask me to put on both sides and I said it's too late you've left it too late
44:39yeah so because Han and can are very late in requesting lights they get only one strip light
44:44here on this side but not on this side Sonny and Alicia on the other hand due to pre-planning
44:51have strip lights on both sides of their bathhouse ceiling here and here ours is a lot better product
44:58and we're happy with what our product is so you can copy it all you like but we're going to produce
45:03something which is going to be a thousand times better so I think it is a cheap imitation really
45:09so there is no sketchy business of stealing or copying someone else's ideas why would we not why
45:16would we I see two sides of this story I'd be annoyed if I was Sonny and Alicia because someone's copying
45:23my design but I see the girls side we're in a competition we're playing for 250k this week
45:29they've seen a great idea so they've taken inspiration from that all is fair in love and the block
45:34welcome back to the block and day two of rumpus room week outside our house facades have been
45:51evolving at quite a rapid rate over the last couple of days a bit like Sonny and Alicia's mood over in
45:58our school I'm just looking for a gift for Sonny from chemist warehouse just to cheer him up he had
46:12a rough day yesterday so I thought maybe the kids can send him a little gift to the block here I can
46:17order it and then it'll be here within three hours and I can pick it up a little touch of home and know
46:22that the kids love him and thinking of him hello after our day yesterday the kids and I thought that
46:32this might cheer you up just smell me good better smell me good no stink watch out ladies here I come
46:39delish we're already sort of half a day behind now yeah I'm lucky I have my trades there Monday and
46:47they did what they need to do so just got to uh rip in and get it done and yeah the analogy at the
46:55moment is that we're sort of nearing the end of the first half and got another half to go so we need
47:01to you know really drive it home these next six weeks we're ready to kick some ass and put them to
47:06the sword didn't even know that was the same we are a hundred percent fully sick the cold and flu is
47:17well and truly thriving in our bodies yeah oh my god I'm getting nothing done like I was putting
47:27insulation in and I get one sheet and then I have to stop I'm sick and I'm not feeling great so yeah
47:32we've just got to push through and get this rumpus roof roof rumpus room um moving
47:44just feels like a winning house as soon as I walk through here I just feel like a winner again energy
47:53that's right winner winner winner we're feeling confident because we're not going to be blowing
47:59the budget it goes back to being in business you can't just be living in the moment you've got
48:04to be forecasting what's going to be happening and we're in a good position started hanging sheets to
48:12plasterers just to try um help them out they usually come in Taz you know can you help us out we don't
48:16really know I was like yeah no worries I'll help you there so you know I get the nail the nail shooter
48:22yeah the nail gun now shut up I'll just I'll jump on that for him you know because he doesn't really
48:28know he's doing slowly getting it so the the rumpus room is over to the plasterers for now we can't do
48:42too much in there plastering is going to take three days yeah we won't really be in there it's all for
48:47Wednesday Thursday yeah yeah we are really focusing on the Hepburn challenge today because we really
48:53really really want to win this room we're going to the pub oh what are we doing at the pub we're
49:02going to play pokey no we're not Tuesday night we are going to dinner it's Matt and I Alyssa Alyssa's
49:08I'm in Brooks oh let's go let's go right off rip Ben and Emma gonna meet us there Ben and I we're having a bit of a
49:16cruising night and then Robbie you messaged you yep so I'm going to the pub saying go to the pub heading there
49:21now hey and Ken do you guys want to jump in with us I don't think we're invited everyone's invited so not that
49:29five oh really did something go down I don't know I'm sure you've been invited every it was everyone
49:39really did Robbie message you yeah yeah she was like not invited in different by message
49:54taken and I was like okay and then she slammed the caravan door oh stop Robbie just said the girls
50:00were sick yeah we weren't invited to dinner tonight because we are sick dogs they weren't not invited
50:10they were not allowed to come they have been extremely unwell I don't want to be in that
50:15position I think if you were going to come it would be selfish have you guys experienced anything like
50:22that before in your in real life no no exclusion or obviously Ken's never experienced it because
50:30she's too cool but yeah I have yeah in primary school and high school and whatnot and I just said
50:38like it's not my first rodeo I'm an adult I'll chin it I was like oh it would be nice to be asked and
50:43then we could be the adults and be like no sorry we're too sick there's obviously a reason for it and
50:47we were really sick that makes sense so yeah it didn't affect me that much cheese if I let that
50:56affect me I would not survive here that's for sure tomorrow night on the block we are halfway through the
51:10week and halfway through the season people are sick pressure is mounting it's completely strategic
51:20this way I've realized we actually need to form an alliance because when you're not a builder I'm not
51:26builder but I can do math you better be a survivor wasn't even close
