00:10I just started very emotionally crying because this was like an unbelievable moment.

00:18When Black Beauty first came to us, she had injuries all over her body.

00:23She was in a pretty bad state.

00:24She was having a really difficult time breathing.

00:26So we actually used steam to help her breathe better.

00:29About eight to nine weeks after we rescued her, we could definitely start to tell that she was feeling better.

00:37She had a lot more energy and would literally just run around the farm.

00:42We wake up in the morning and I go outside and the first thing I do is look for Black Beauty and she's already just beelining it to me.

00:56She got very vocal.

01:07Since that very first day we rescued her, she's always been attached.

01:19One day we're doing our morning rounds and there was an egg in her nesting box.

01:24The fact that she was able to lay an egg after being sick for so long was pretty magical.
