00:00Noon Eastern, it's number one Texas, number three Ohio State. We've seen these teams, not a lot head-to-head, quite frankly.
00:08You know, it's a 2-2 series, only one meeting dating back to 2008, and, you know, it was pretty recently there in January of 24.
00:16Ohio State, top Texas, doubled them up 28-14 in the college football playoff semifinal.
00:22But what do we get now, and all the hype surrounding, obviously, Arch Manning there for Texas?
00:26Well, I think that's one of the storylines. Arch's debut as a full-time starter, going into a stadium where the Buckeyes haven't lost an opener since 1999.
00:36As Steve Sarkeesian pointed out this week, 32 players from that Cotton Bowl you mentioned were in NFL camps this summer.
00:45So who are going to be these new stars? Is it going to be Julian Sayan? Is it going to be Kenyatta Jackson?
00:50Is it going to be Colin Simmons, the sophomore edge rusher from Texas?
00:53It's crazy to think that that many guys went to the NFL, and there's probably seven, eight first-rounders on this field Saturday.
01:02I love games where you have that much NFL talent on the field.
01:06I don't think it's going to not meet expectations.
01:10It's going to be a fantastic game and could end up being a little bit of a defensive game early when you consider these new quarterbacks.
01:17So it sounds like you might be thinking under 47 and a half, maybe something a little lower scoring, but with this game essentially a pick-em, who wins it?
01:26Well, it's hard for me to go against Ohio State here, and not just because I live in the backyard.
01:30I just, having the home field advantage, having the noon kickoff, you know, an experienced defense with Sonny Stiles and Caleb Downs, I think.
01:39And then Jeremiah Smith on the other end, he only had one catch for three yards last year against Texas.
01:44I think they'll change that in the first series.
01:46New coordinators Brian Hartline and Matt Patricia add another wrinkle to that, but it's hard for me to go against the Buckeyes at home.
01:53I still remember that instant classic in 2005 when Vince Young and the Longhorns came into Ohio Stadium and won,
02:00and it took everything they had in a Lima-Swede late touchdown to get that victory.
