Ever heard of a fictional football team with a real-world pop-up shop? The Royal Oak, a Sunday League team that started as a way to attract customers, has exploded in popularity thanks to TikTok.

Now, they've launched their first-ever merchandise shop in Meadowhall, drawing massive crowds. From humble beginnings as an electrician and a love for the game, the founder never envisioned such a huge fan base.

What’s next? While thriving off the pitch, the team aims to bring home some silverware and deliver success to their dedicated fans.

00:00We've got this phenomena, which is Steve Bracknell, who's launching his only pop-up shop that I'm aware of,
00:06selling all the merchandise of the Royal Oak.
00:09So for two days only, you can come here to Meadowhall and buy the official Royal Oak shirt, which is quite incredible.
00:16So a fictional online football team, Sunday League.
00:20The whole team are here today and a whole load of people are queuing up for those shirts.
00:25In 1997, me and my first team manager, Paul Sampson, started a club in order to get customers into the club.
00:32And then 15 years ago, we started a video in it, put YouTubes and that.
00:36And then last November, a TikTok, that Olivia runs my TikTok.
00:40Oh, it blew up massive, we went global.
00:42And now, we're here in this first ever club shop.
00:45Wow, and how does that feel to be here today?
00:47You've got people queuing around the block for you.
00:50Historic. I've walked, ah, Nicky went, Steve, I can't believe it.
00:53I went, Nicky, let's walk down Q. It went all the way around.
00:56Harding to the car park. I went, I told you, best fan base in the world.
01:01Tell me a bit about yourself personally. How did your career start?
01:05I'm a sparky by trade. I'm an electrician.
01:08But I've always liked to keep my head in game. I love my football.
01:11So on a Sunday, that's my time away from either living or not, Nicky.
01:15Do you know, to go and express my sense.
01:17But I never envisioned all this. Unbelievable.
01:20And is it true you were on cover of Arctic Monkeys?
01:24Absolutely not. That's a kid called Chris McClure. No comment.
01:29And what do you think is next for you guys, for the team?
01:33Well, off the pitch, we're doing really well.
01:35But it's important now to focus as heads.
01:37Get on pitch and go and win some silverware.
01:40Deliver some success for this fan base.
