Since 2022, Wales has had an official ban on any physical discipline on your children. It’s a controversial argument, and while most people agree some legislation should be in place to protect children from serious harm, a lot will say ‘it never hurt me in my day’.

00:00If a little kid wants to put their hand in a fire, are you going to sort of get the message
00:08across to them that the fire is not the thing to have put their hand into, other than a
00:16little clip across the fingers? You can't reason with them because they don't understand the
00:22language enough. I'm old school and that's what I think. I think discipline you need,
00:27especially in schools. But it's gone now, isn't it? The discipline in schools.
00:33Yeah, nothing wrong with smacking the kids and no one again, I don't think. But then again,
00:38everyone got their own opinion, haven't they? See, I've got a little bit of both. I see that there's,
00:44there are lessons and valuable lessons in a slight discipline, but only at a certain level. If you're
00:50there and you're willing to explain to your child and you're willing to sit down with them and go,
00:54right, that is not the right way to do something. Okay, fine.
