Trump Boasts That Trade Deficit Has Been Cut In Half Since Taking Office

During a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, President Donald Trump spoke progress being made to reduce the trade deficit.

00:09We've only been here really for a few months because, you know,

00:13it takes you a little while to fix up the Oval Office and do those things

00:16to prepare for the battle, right?

00:21So we've really only been here for a very short period of time.

00:25And we cut the trade deficit in half. Is that right?

00:28That's fantastic.

00:30I didn't even think we were going to do that.

00:32And remember, these are things that are being built.

00:37These things, you know, all these numbers, they're not open yet.

00:39When they open, you're going to see things happen in the United States

00:43that nobody's ever seen before, including our country in its heyday.
