00:00Mr. VP, would you like to say something?
00:03Yes, sir. I'll be brief, but I want to congratulate you and the entire team on all the things that have been accomplished.
00:08You'll hear about a lot of it. You've already heard some of it.
00:10But I thought it would be helpful, Mr. President, just to take stock not just of what we've accomplished,
00:14what we will accomplish, but of the mess that we inherited because I think it makes this first Labor Day a bigger and more special occasion.
00:22You heard, I think, Christy talk about this, that all of the net job growth under the Biden administration had gone to the foreign-born.
00:28Now that net job growth is going to American citizens who deserve opportunity in their own country.
00:33That's a great accomplishment.
00:35You'll hear, I'm sure, Scott talk about the success with tariffs.
00:38People forget that we inherited the largest peacetime deficit in the history of the United States of America.
00:45And now, because the President is not letting foreign countries take advantage of us,
00:49we're collecting hundreds of billions of dollars, trillions of dollars over 10 years in tariffs from countries and companies
00:55that were formerly taking advantage of the American people.
00:58You heard Pam talk about the public safety and the success that we've had there.
01:02I happen to believe that maybe the most sacred thing that we can deliver to American workers
01:06is the ability to live safely and comfortably in their own neighborhoods.
01:10Public safety is not just something that should belong to the wealthy.
01:13It should belong to every working man and woman in the United States of America.
01:17And because of the work of this administration, that is happening.
01:19And, of course, Mr. President, you yourself talked about the inflation mess that we inherited
01:23under the Biden administration.
01:25Maybe the most striking and even shocking statistic of the Biden administration
01:29is that housing costs have gone up by 100 percent over the four years of the Biden administration,
01:34literally doubled, making the American dream of homeownership unaffordable.
01:38We've made great strides and great progress already.
01:41But to the American people who are listening, there's a lot more to do.
01:45We're going to keep on working hard at it, but it's an honor to do this job
01:47under the President's leadership and with this very great team that you've assembled.
01:51So we've done a lot, but there's a lot more work to do, and we're very cognizant of it.
01:54Thank you, sir.
