07:05Before we start, I just want to make very clear that I'm an innocent man.
07:12And the subject of an extraordinary campaign of harassment by the LAPD,

32:13It was a top secret CIA program in the 50s and 60s using experimental drugs to aid in interrogation techniques.

32:26known as a truth serum.
32:28The program ran from 1953 to 1973, before it was shut down following a public outcry.

32:38There's no evidence the CIA ever used Westview as a base of operations.
32:41So what were top secret MKUltra documents doing there?

32:46We started digging into the trobofiles Abigail had found, and one name kept popping up again

32:52Dr. Julius Erickson.
32:53He was one of the psychologists contracted by the CIA to conduct experimental research.
33:00And after MKUltra shut down, he took a new job.

33:05Dr. Erickson ran the hospital for 20 years, and from the notes we uncovered, it seems clear
33:10he continued his own research in private, trying to use the psychological breakthroughs from
33:14MKUltra to further his own research into mind-altering drugs.

33:22But then he started using them on himself, believing he had found the key to improving

33:27And in a last moment of lucidity, Erickson decided to destroy his research.

33:36structure.
33:36And some of the drugs were potent enough to be absorbed simply by touch, even when diluted.

33:48Did the CIA ever find out what Erickson was doing?
33:50Not that we've found, but it's not like the agency ever returns our phone calls.

37:03It gives one party legal authority over certain aspects of another person's life, including managing all of their assets.

37:13Rich persons speak for controlling someone else's money.
37:15Yes. And money makes people do crazy things.
37:20Like, um, poison their family member's water with a chemical cocktail so potent it has the potential to permanently damage the human psyche?

37:33I was supposed to inherit, but, um, after my break with reality, my dad cut me off and, uh, my brother got everything.

37:43Oh, about, um, $12 million.
37:46Must have been hard going from that kind of wealth to nannying.
