00:00Shireen is asking from the 11th chapter of Bhagavad Gita,
00:11Dear Master, Krishna is telling Arjuna,
00:18I am time, the destroyer of all.
00:21I have come to consume the world.
00:23Even without your participation, all the warriors gathered here will die.
00:31What must I understand from the statement of Krishna, I am time.
00:40Is he not the timeless spirit?
00:43With love and gratitude, Shireen.
00:46Shireen, both.
00:49He is both.
00:52It depends on who is looking at him.
01:01If you abide in timelessness, then Krishna is just the timeless spirit.
01:10You need not even call him the timeless spirit.
01:12Then you just call him absolute timelessness.
01:18Right?
01:19Whatever there is, holds its identity, its name in context of the viewer.
01:33Are you getting it?
01:34Are you getting it?
01:40For a common man to say that God is timelessness is absurd.
01:52Why?
01:53Because the common man exists purely in time.
02:08Existing purely in time, do you even have any conception of timelessness?
02:15Is it possible?
02:16No.
02:17And even if you have a conception, it is exactly that, a concept.
02:24And timelessness cannot be a concept.
02:25Right?
02:26Hence, for the mortal beings on earth, God or truth has to be time rather than timelessness.
02:43To call him timelessness is the prerogative of only the ones who have really known.
02:56Others, if they call him timeless.
02:57Others, if they call him timeless, they are just dealing in meaningless tributes.
03:09We, as products of time, have to look for truth within time.
03:29That is the reason why we look back to a Christ.
03:35That is why we worship the saints.
03:39That is why we sit in front of a master.
03:42All of these are within time.
03:48The timeless one cannot come to help you except through his manifestation in time.
03:56Now who is Arjun?
03:59Is he somebody who continuously abides in timelessness?
04:04That is the reason, till the time, Krishna is mentioning timelessness to him.
04:15Arjun is hardly impressed.
04:18Ten chapters of the Gita are gone.
04:23And Arjun is still dithering.
04:25Very uncertain.
04:26Very uncertain.
04:27Then in the 11th chapter, Krishna reveals to him something that would finally convince him.
04:40And what does he reveal to him?
04:44His formless nature?
04:47His timeless nature?
04:49His nameless nature?
04:52His dimensionless nature?
04:53Is that what is revealed to Arjun?
04:56No.
04:57On the contrary, Krishna reveals to Arjun the totality of time that Krishna stands for.
05:08Krishna reveals to Arjun the magnificence of all beings encompassed in all space.
05:18And then Arjun says, no, no, it's okay.
05:21I understand.
05:22I understand.
05:23Yes, yes.
05:24Ten chapters could not make that kind of a mark on Arjun, which this demonstration within
05:34time and space did.
05:35Remember that it is a demonstration.
05:37The student is not getting convinced by mere theoretical elucidation.
05:42So, what has the teacher done?
05:44Teacher has finally given him a practical proof.
05:48A practical and sensual proof.
05:51Look Arjun.
05:52See, hear, smell.
05:56It's a sensory proof.
05:59And that is what all beings on the earth need.
06:03That is what all students need.
06:06And saints have repeatedly said, they have said, the formless Brahma is of very little
06:13use to us.
06:15We need a teacher in name, in body, available to us in the physical sense.
06:29Of what use is Brahma?
06:31Will Brahma come to teach me?
06:35I need somebody who is what Krishna is to Arjun.
06:41Both a friend and a guide.
06:45That's the relationship between Krishna and Arjun, right?
06:48And now you know why Arjun was the only one who could comprehend the Gita.
06:56He was the only one who was chosen to receive the Gita.
07:01Because he had first of all a personal relationship with Krishna.
07:12With Brahma you cannot have a personal relationship or can you?
07:15With God the Father sitting in the heavens, you cannot have a personal relationship.
07:22And that is the reason he had to send his son down.
07:27So that you can have a personal relationship.
07:30Don't you wonder?
07:31Don't you wonder?
07:32If God is sufficient, why did he have to send his son down to the earth and that too?
07:40To all the buggers who chased him and almost executed him?
07:47Because when it comes to man, even God is helpless.
07:53Man is something of a superstar.
07:59God might be omnipresent.
08:02Man says who?
08:03Where is he?
08:05Look at man's guts.
08:10Look at his defiance.
08:12Look at his petulance.
08:14He can be insubordinate even to the omnipresent.
08:19He says where is God?
08:22Don't you say that.
08:24Where is God?
08:26So God says I will not be able to beat this rock star.
08:31He says where is God?
08:34So finally he has to send down or rather appear in a way that is similar to that of man.
08:47And therefore Krishna must appear as a product of time in front of Arjun.
08:54Otherwise Arjun will not listen.
09:00The 11th chapter is a great proof and a great example in dialectics.
09:14Mere words do not convince a student.
09:23The student is just incapable.
09:27Even Krishna had to practically demonstrate.
09:34The trouble with the nameless, formless, absolute one is that he cannot come down to demonstrate anything to you.
09:45So he has to assume a form and a shape in time.
09:54Those shapes you will not need when you move into timelessness.
10:01But as long as you are within time, you require someone within time.
10:07You understand?
10:08Being within time.
10:09What is it to be within time?
10:11To be born and to die.
10:14You require someone who will be born just as you are born.
10:17You require someone who will die just as you will die.
10:20You require someone who has a body just as you have.
10:24You require someone who has gone through the experiences of life just as you go through.
10:29You need someone who suffers just as you do.
10:32You need someone who has all the tendencies as you have.
10:37Only then can there be some communication.
10:42Only then will learning be possible for you.
10:51Are you getting it?
