Orangutans (Pongo spp.) are great apes native to the rainforests of Borneo and Sumatra. Known for their reddish-brown hair and long arms, they spend most of their lives in trees. Orangutans are highly intelligent, using tools and displaying problem-solving skills. They are solitary foragers, feeding mainly on fruits, leaves, and bark. Sadly, they are critically endangered due to deforestation and illegal hunting.
